I remember when the first Cobalts came out in 2004/2005, and smelling the fresh paint still curing. This was a great modern car that used classic Chevy colors. Very sad to see the Cobalt having gone away. I think it was doomed from too much micromanagement for the sake of making money. The Cruze was not a fitting replacement, and it basically looks like a cut piece of melon, or a half football, on wheels. It was not very impressive. The Cobalt should have been kept, but management replaced it. The problems could have been avoided, but were ignored.
You hit it spot on! GM’s management has been solely responsible for losses of many great cars to make way for full, cheaply made cars that are only there to increase their bottom line. The world would be a much better place if these companies had the driver in mind and not just quarterly profits
@@jackalproductions2352 I think a couple years ago, GM and Ford, announced that they would stop making cars altogether, and concentrate on trucks and SUVs. Manual transmissions are going away too. People can't drive them anymore.
looking at the value of a 2010 cobalt now (low) i don’t think a full transmission replacement is the best allocation of capital. getting into a newer vehicle would be a better option imho
Some of what he said was a lie, bc the cobalt had ended production, bc of the recession era prior after the Saturn Ion had discontinued, ntm it was a rebadged Pontiac G5, so both of the cars left sales dropping
@@jackalproductions2352 they’re good cars i’ve owned 2 cobalts , i bought one that needed an insane amount of work , if you get one with low miles and with not many issues you’ll be fine theyre pretty reliable mine breaks once a month bc i race it lol
Great video! The Cobalt truly was a cool car, it could take you to the store or race around a track! Amazing car and I wish they still made it.
I couldn't agree more, it would be a welcome addition to Chevy's disappointing sedan lineup.
The 2.0 LNF turbo package was a real gem. GM let an opportunity slip by not finding a fit for it in the Cruze to put it up against the Focus ST.
If it was rerealesed it would be some type of hatchback or suv coupe
This video is unbelievable - tremendous job
Thanks Mr. Johnson! I've been relying on your support since day one!
What about the pontiac G5? I have an 08 model. 310,000 miles. Shes very tired.
Maybe it's my OCD and love attention to detail, but I've just discovered this channel and really enjoy the content so far. Keep up the good work 👌
Thank you! I’m glad you are able to enjoy what I create, it means a lot!
I’m looking for the Supercharged SS
Hardtop!

I hope you kept it. New cars are expensive junk.
IF ONLY they made it rear wheel drive it would've been one of the best tuner cars around! 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️💯
it really would’ve! too bad most of the buyers were old ladies and families that could care less what wheels turned 😂
They did! It’s called the solstice lol
