It is very clear that this is the looking touring of the BMW family. The M5 can’t even begin to touch this M3 touring in looks. I agree that if I could get one BMW wish that would be the wagon I would purchase. It looks good, I do not like the styling of the new M5 and 5 series. Bring the M3 touring as is.
It doesn't need to be an M car. Plenty of potential Touring customers in North America who aren't interested in that 5 series price range, which is near what a M3 Touring would approach. We need the base versions and dump this whole Sport Activity Coupe concept.
If BMW wants to sell wagons or any manufacturer, they need the sweet spot of the m340i touring, the s4 avant, a g70 estate, a CLA 45 shooting brake... those are the models to sell. Don't get me wrong the M3 touring would sell as well but it is less affordable to the everyday family. Again my opinion but I have a feeling SUV fatigue will start to show its head in the next few years. Keep up the good work gentleman
Ya a m340i touring makes a lot of sense - dont need more than 400hp and the current B58 hits damn close to that. Don't need carbon bucket seats, don't need carbon ceramics, etc.
Just selling standard wagon models would be a start, BMW, Audi, Mercedes all have these in Europe. As a person that has a wagon not sure why people want these underpowered bricks driving in the road.
@@BenAB12history has told us these “volume” wagons do not sell in the USA. Full stop. They don’t. The broader customer base is buying SUV’s in this segment. The only market for wagons is the enthusiast market…thus the M5 wagon and Audi RS6 Avant. Only high end enthusiasts want wagons. Sorry to break it to you.
Proud owner of a M340i Touring since almost 3 years and I absolutely adore it. After close to 80'000km it's still the best car I've ever had and I had also a few AMG's. The M3 Touring is unreal but just too "flashy" for my taste. The M340i Touring is the perfect sleeper.

We have been lucky in Australia to have had this since launch. I pre-ordered mine in 2022 in Skyscraper grey with orange sports seats and I've had it for over a year. I traded my 2018 Mercedes C63S estate for this and don't regret the trade. Probably the most practical and the best performance pure ICE car in the market considering other models are moving to plugin hybrid and are much heavier.

Hey guys - as a parent of a 6yo and a F31 330 M sport owner I must say 2 comments from your video were absolutely spot on! 1) That cargo window is absolutely awesome! I found myself using that almost every single time I had a small load. So convenient! That feature should be a must in any hatch. 2) Yuri - I must commend you for pointing out diaper changes on the trunk of a wagon. I have lost count of how many times my wife and i did that, particularly on our runs to Niagara on The Lake when our girl was a baby. I had to part ways with my beloved wagon last year to justify an upgrade and i darely miss it. It sucks dealers got too greedy with the RS6 in Canada, as that was my target upgrade. I look forward to another wagon in my stable in the near future. I wish more wagon lovers would put their money where their mouth is so we would get more of them in NA.
All I want is a decent wagon for America. I'm not willing to spend the amount it would take for an M3, but give us some lower models that are still fun / cool. Been searching for something like that used and there's almost nothing in my state and hardly any better even in nice weather states if I shipped. It's insane. So much more enjoyable to drive a lower down wagon and super practical with all that storage room that puts to shame storage in many small to mid-size SUV/CUV options. Come on America, figure it out!
I own a 2006 5 series wagon in blue, 6 speed manual, straight 6, body kit and m5 fenders and mirrors. I love it, I have it sitting in my garage waiting for me to one day spend time with her and bring her back to life. It's not the fastest but I love to drive it. I miss her.
This and the RS6 are the best looking cars in production right now and I can only imagine how good an Alfa Giulia wagon would look too. I could never afford any of them but man I wish wagons were more popular in general. Perfect vehicles 👌
Coming from Singapore where cars are crazy expensive, I'm so happy my family went with a 330i Touring instead of an SUV. It's no M3 but it still feels fast to me and its as fun to drive as it is to look at. Like America, wagons are pretty rare so being one of around 20-30 owners of this car in the country makes it all the more cooler. Wagons are just so immensely cool. It really is a do it all car, practical, sporty, and professional.
It makes me chuckles how you are very surprised at the number of 3 series "wagon" on the road in Europe. I imagine this would be what a European would do when they go over to North America and go "Look, so many pickup truck!"
Great video as always If you want to switch off the annoying speed limit noise: Hold the set button on the steering wheel for a few seconds and it should deactivate :)
Since USA already gets M5 touring I would be super happy if M340 touring became available in USA. At this point, I feel like M3 wagon in USA might be an overkill as it would be another M car that is near $100k. BMW needs a wagon in a lower price point and that is why I fee M340 or heck, even regular 330i wagon would be super dope in USA.
My first car was a 2011 E91 328xi Touring. It was the perfect car - agile, great steering feel and suspension tuning, amazingly smooth NA I6 engine and incredibly practical. We brought our first child home from the hospital in it, did several IKEA trips in it, and I carved up backroads in it. And yes we opened the glass rear window separately ALL the time. We now have an Outback as our family car, because I refused to go full crossover. My fun car is a Giulia QV. BUT, if BMW ever brought the M3 Touring to North America I would buy one in a heartbeat. The G90 M5 is a horrific design and deeply compromised. Give us the ICE M3 please.
The M3 Touring is the GOAT. If I had money to buy a new luxury vehicle, that would be on the top of my list for sure. Anyway, people has asked BMW to make a M-Touring in their 3-series for decades, literally, so I am just stunned, that people are not all just loving it, now it is here. Tuners even formerly rebuild regular M3 cars to Touring.

I recall the reason the wagon 3 series didn't come to the US was because it didnt meet some sort of road requirement and the change would have forced BMW to redesign part the chassis so they decided to not sell it here. I totally would have bought this if it came to the states though.
Hopefully BMW will offer these in Canada. I'm not holding my breath though. So many great wagons that aren't offered in North American. Canada is a better market for wagons. Mercedes only sold their C-class wagon and C43 Wagon in Canada and sold every one they imported (which was limited). VW used to sell a lot of their Golf Wagons. But for some reason the marketing departments believe that everybody wants an SUV.
This with a six speed, that feels good, a real hand brake, basically just build a new E34 M5 touring...which the M3 is now the size of. I want the split lift gate too.
