That monster bites in so deep, even with minimal effort. Eafengrow creates another beast! I'm carrying another Eafengrow masterpiece today, the EF127. It's such a great survival/self defense fixed blade, and the 14c steel just adds so much to it's reliability.

I have been collecting Eafengrow fixed blades for about 5 years now. They have steadily increased the quality of their knives each year. The last year has been the best for Eafengrow since they have come out with many new and interesting models that are priced very well. However, with that being said, the main issue I see with many new Eafengrow fixed blades is their handles. They are just too small for most men that would use the knife. Over the last six months, I have sent back to Amazon two Eafengrow knives due to their handles being too small and uncomfortable. My hand size is not big in any sense - maybe just a M/L. Gruggs - if you have any exchanges with the Eafengrow people, please let them know they need to increase their handles sizes, especially large chopping or field /tactical/survival blades since many guys wear gloves, which means the handle needs to be a bit bigger. A half or 3/4 inch increase should do the trick just like you said. I normally don't wear gloves and even without them on, many of their knife handles are just too small or uncomfortably blocky for me. Hopefully they will correct this issue soon. Hey man, looks like you have an "ultimate" camp knife! To me, this knife's a hatchet/knife hybrid but, with the best of both worlds!!! You're right on the money with a small knife and or saw to complete the set. And for my size hands, that handle looks to be "perfect"...

Looks like the tang is thicker than the blade's spine.
Although the knife is heavy and a good chopper,
I still think I'd prefer the leverage advantage of a hatchet or axe.
Having a semi-stainless steel blade, we'd like to know if it throws a spark well.
All told, it looks like a good value.

Pretty sweet lines, but they are basically copying Miller Bros Blades designs! The handle design, the milled details- it's soo close.
Except for price. I will take this over a Miller any day.

Notes:
Uddeholm proprietary Cold work tool steel. Modification of the classic AISI D2 tool steel. Sleipner has improved toughness compared to D2, good wear and chipping resistance. Attainable hardness 60-64HRC. Used by Lionsteel in their folders. According to Lionsteel had better edge holding compared to Uddeholm M390 steel, although no information provided on test details.

Notes:
Quite tough steel, with as per manufacturer, almost twice the toughness, better wear resistance, and smaller carbide size compared to D2 steel, capable of 62-64HRC working hardness. Very similar with Bohler-Uddeholm Sleipner steel, with slightly more Carbon, and less Mo and V.
@@LegionTacticoolCutlery The more I use DC53 the more I like it! Sleipner is great too, they honestly seem about the same in my instances. Which is to say they're great!

@@LegionTacticoolCutlery this is 1st almost perfect knife from Eafengrow EF-146 have 2nd jimping in the 2nd is can use for fire starter this blade can cut 6'' tree in3minute can split split the same size log just 3-4time baton i think this is the best low cost blade for camping or survival for this moment.
@@G.A.W.1980 yea this is a work horse big blade but not ridiculous like a full size machete and a durable beast.
