Awesome review, brother! I just got my EF 137 a few days ago. I love the feel of this knife in my hand. I'm glad you made a review of this knife. My only concern has been the heat treat on the n690 steel. Thank you for this video!

This Eafengrow certainly looks like the Nomad by WTG, although, dimensions, pricing, etc., are different. This Eafengrow is nice (I have one). The Nomad is a friggen beast.

You do abuse the knives. I appreciate your salute to veterans at the start. Seems like you could be an effengrow employee. Have not seen your tests of any other brand. Effengrow I am impressed by your tests and price is good. However I am distrustful of the brand when other tests have shown their knives do not analyze to the advertised steel and tend to be soft. Doesn't seem like soft blades from your tests. But 2 different labs on the analysis I saw analysis of Effengrow not advertised steel and soft. You make me want to try one though.

Not an employee just an enthusiast. Tell you what though I love these knives so much I wish I did work for them. I would grab every one of their knives.

You're talking about reports from about 2 years ago. Eafengrow said there was a steel distributor that was not providing them consistent quality steel. That problem's been taken care of & tests on their blades over the past 1+ years by numerous testers have found their steels are exactly as advertised. In fact, that issue has caused Eafengrow to up their game on the quality of steel & ensuring they're using excellent heat treatments. For the past 1+ years they have been providing products that perform far above their price range & much higher level QC. Hope that helps temper your concerns.

@@R1MORRIS YEP spot on with your comment I am VERY VERY put off by the shear fact of anything China made and usually avoid it like the herpes, even knives like civivi and so on I will NOT buy because if I'm going to put out the dollars they want for those China specials (even if they are done really well) I will just as soon spend the same or a tad more and go with something built on American soil like bencmade spyderco, esee white river or so on,, at least then you will be dealing local if you have an issue, with China knives the whole company cold just up and vanish overnight and if you just spent a couple hundred dollars on it that would suck, with the price of these you just use and abuse them and if they fail toss them and move on,, they are pretty budget friendly even this one at 100$,, if it was built by some of those other name it would be more like $300 or more possibly way more (I have a white river sort of like this that cost almost $600 with the custom sheath I had made and that was a dozen years ago), as far as if they got the hardness done right well i can't attest to this exact knife because I am still waiting for Amazon to get it shipped to me because I just orderd it,, but I do have the EF133, EF131, and EF128 all in the DC53 steel and when comparing how it sharpens to knuives like some of my benchmades spyderco and others in even steels like m390, magnacut, s110, steels runing in that 60 to 64 kinda hrc range they seem pretty comparable in the way they sharpen meening a tad easier than some but not as easy as some others, I own 157 fixed and 204 folding knives in my collection of every brand and steel you can think of,,, that's what being a 58 year old knife nerd having an uncle that was a custom knife maker for 50 some od years and being the soul surviving heir to a father grandfather and 2 uncles and a stepfather and acquiring those fairly extensive collections I am kinda overun with blades you might say, however most of those are just safe queens, looking forward to putting my own edge on this one when it gets to me, I use the worksharp ken onion system for my "working/carry knives because I have found that while you lose a bit of cutting performance ( and only very VERY slightly so) that convex edge makes the edge WAY more durable, I take it down to 3 micro polish using leather stropping belts after doing a roughly 25 degree bevel (I say roughly because a convex bevel never truely has an exact angle per say), now my bradford Gaurdians I have in N690 done this way are REALLY super performers that get actually hair whittling sharp and hold it well (hold a good "working" sharp edge way longer than hardness and so on would lead you to believe) and Bradford if ya ask me does real good with N690, so it will be interesting to test Eafengrow N690 done the same way, I know the three I own in DC53 are very good for the price or even a lot more I have had some what was supposed to be higher end in high end steels that were crap (will not mention names but the name rymes with F**K who should just stick with 420 because at least they got that down pat), yep I think Eafengrow has maybe got thier S**T together,, by what I'm seeing if they keep it up they will get to be know as one of the better China based knife companies.
