    Really in my opinion the only thing holding this thing behind is the gauge display. I know that most of it competitors don’t offer it either but an all digital cluster would make this car feel more luxurious and then considering nowadays that every car is loaded up with technology I think now it’s become a norm instead of an option.

    • @FateofDeath_
      @FateofDeath_ 2 года назад

      Weird they went with the great headlight LED design then threw up all of the rear turn signals with ugly incandescent no style turn signals, ruined the back for me, gauge cluster could be a full screen to compete with other cars in the class, center screen would need to be bigger and less of a big border around it, hopefully they added ambient lighting, my 2019 Jetta SEL Premium has all of this maybe in the next year or 2 Kia will step it up

    I have leased two Kia Optima SX Turbos and really like them. They were really reliable and fun to drive. In this segment you could not go wrong with Kia.

  • @jeffmorse645
    @jeffmorse645 2 года назад +12

    I test drove the K5 a year ago and really liked it, but the local Kia dealer was tacking on $3,000 markup on it and wouldn't budge. I checked every Kia dealer in Northern California and if they had one in stock (most didn't) it was also marked up. They simply wouldn't deal - they were selling too fast. Most frustrating car purchase journey I've ever had. Toyota and Honda dealers were doing the same to the Accord and Camry. Ended up getting a Subaru Legacy because the dealer would actually knock $2,000 off MSRP. That said I kind of wished I'd bit the bullet and got the K5. They look so nice.

    Again, I will say that KIA has come a long ways, but is it really enough? I'm big on long-term reliability. Yes I want the great ride and creature comforts, but how well will this car perform after hitting 100-150k miles? With that in mind, I'd still say the Accord. But in the early years, I'd say KIA gives them a great run for the money.

    • @millanmixy
      @millanmixy 2 года назад

      I have Kia Optima 2012 with 130k miles. As a second owner I didn't invest even 2k including oil change since 2016 when I bought it with 65k/m on it, but I can feel it's breaking down a little bit this year and it does need tune up but again with 1500$ I can completely fix everything and keep rolling!
      Also I need to mention that KIA offers 5Y/60K/M bumper to bumper warranty and 10Y/100K/M on power train which Honda doesn't! After 100k miles it is what it is, you'll get the money worth for sure but one thing to mention is that you can get more money on used Honda then on KIA but then it's more expensive as well

    • @phil8761
      @phil8761 2 года назад

      @@millanmixy That may be true, but how consistent is that for the Kia brand? The consistency of Honda vehicles lasting even longer has been well known since the early 90s. I've also heard that Kia vehicles overseas have better quality than in the US. Since you mentioned k/m, I figured you may have one of the higher quality versions.

      I mean maybe I got lucky, idk! I used to work valet parking and I've seen a lot of Kias with over 130k miles on it.. I have a friend who's engine got blown out at 116k miles so I might be lucky who knows.. I agree that Honda was reliable before but they put whole new engines 1.5T and 2.0T and CVT trans on all their vehicles so idk we will see in next 5 years or so how reliable these new ones are!

    • @phil8761
      @phil8761 2 года назад

      @@millanmixy You have a great point on those CVTs. That's why I would only get the 2.0T since that is a 10sp auto. I wouldn't dare mess with a CVT unless it's performance over time was strong. I'm not sure if that was Honda's best move with the CVTs but so many people are using them. Personally, I prefer a solid, naturally aspirated V6, but everyone wants turbos now.

    You shouldn’t trust any Kia . I have a 2013 optima and my mom has a 2020 Sorento,sister 2017 Sorento. There’s been way too many recalls. My engine actually blew at 73k miles a month and a half ago,asked my sister about it and she told me they put another one in her Sorento last year . Far as my moms car I noticed it said it needed maintenance after however so miles and she takes it the next day. Gets the car back and it still says it needs maintenance . I don’t care how many warranties they have or anything else. Two weeks ago I’m at the dealer picking my car up they had to put a new engine in for free for that blown engine. (Btw had to rent a car at my own expense). I’m hearing a customer that bought a BRAND NEW KIA was having problems and the only reason I overheard it was because it was getting heated about a rental being provided because the other dealer just gave them one and they where only at this dealer because it’s closer to their house. With the current dealer saying they had to get the car diagnosed first before they do anything. So now there out of a car/time/money with no immediate replacement because a company that makes defective products. (It’s also 4 plus months before I even see reimbursement money for the rental I paid for, FOR NOTHING THAT’S MY FAULT. - California
