Hey guys! We were anxious to get our review on the all-new 2021 Kia K5 video up ASAP that we decided to break them up into two videos since we had both the EX and GT-Line at the same time. Stay tuned for our full driving impressions video to post on 8/5/2020. Until then, let us know below if you would go for the K5 EX or K5 GT-Line!
I bought the K5 GT wolf gray color. I’m in love with the car. It’s amazing and everyone have to look at the car. People won’t think it’s a kia at the beginning.
It's good that people don't think it's KIA. KIA has really come a long a way and has come out with more appealing and good looking vehicles. Although they should have stayed with the Optima name, it looks far better than the new Sonata.
@@alexkim3794 Damn.. mine upcharged my vehicle by 8k, sent me to financing before negotiating a deal, then left out the back door in hopes I would take the terrible deal. I will never go back to a Kia dealership despite how much I love my Stinger.

I looked at both the GT-Line and EX recently. I ended up buying the EX yesterday and I definitely don't regret it. Best Kia I've had so far (been with Kia since 2015).
I must say I love the GT line! Although I am a little biased because I just bought one! It's wolf gray and black, the color is so sharp! Literally everywhere I go people admire it. It's an amazing car! I love the 16 or maybe 17 different colors you can change the interior lights on the bottom floor to blue, purple, red, green, yellow... You name it.(I had to teach the car dealer that, even he didn't know. There's a little button sitting in the driver's seat to your right on the side panel to change the colors.) And I really love how it helps me drive on the highway and stay in between the lines, and even drives around curves. The smart cruise control is amazing. It slows down and stops at lights and then goes again. Love it!
Yeah, saw them with polythene on them driving through Oshodi, from airport road. Our people have money to buy these things. Have seen more expensive cars in lagos in their first year of release.

John Holst I did just recall the smaaat paaak...(I lived in Boston and they do speak like that.:) is available in Korea. You’re probably right on the rest as well, though I don’t recall the K5 having the same modern gauge cluster graphics as the Sonata. I think this car is the best looking non-luxury sedan outside of my Stinger :), though the lack of coherent trim offerings is a mistake. Also, KIA’s starting to offer all these separate packages/upgrades for each trim. KIA is not a luxury brand, though they’re starting to price them like BMW. Got this as a rental on my latest trip. Beautiful car and it was just the LX trim. I bet the EX and GT looks much better. Smooth drive too with a real nice interior. Kia and Hyundai have top notch interiors.
Already seen a few in person and test drove an EX. I used to work at a Kia Dealer selling them and have a few friends who let me check em out. I currently own a 2020 Forte GT. I love the new K5! Steven R It’s a bit on the stiffer side as it’s more sport tuned with the suspension and lower profile tires; but it’s not uncomfortable by any means. You just gotta drive it and see if you like it really. I love it.
Actual owner: I just purchased my k5 3/1/21 after trading in my 2018 Optima S that I loved. There are pros and cons to the new K5 Cons: Wind Noise is very noticeable, while driving home after the purchase, I had to check to make sure no windows were down because the wind and road noise was just that loud. 2. Acceleration noise is loud, sounds like a GT Mustang when you press the throttle, its not smooth at all. 3. Doors no longer have cup holders for water bottles like the previous Optima models, you only have 2 cup holders at the right armrest. 4.EX feature confusion, when you think you've upgraded to the top EX model, then later discover there is a premium model that has a larger 10.2 inch screen, ambient lighting, BOSE speakers, power folding mirrors and more. The previous models were clear in their upgrade trim levels. I was so upset after purchasing to discover there was a premium package that I was not offered. 5. Doors have this plastic black piano finish raised wedge to close the doors with, however when you're driving the piece digs into your knee causing soreness unless you drive with your leg outstretched and not against the door. 6. The EX doesn't have power folding mirrors unless you happen to find a k5 with the premium package. 7. The EX doesn't have standard ambient lighting, unless you happen to find a premium package k5 8.There is no longer a sunglass holder like in the previous generation optima, youll just have to put them in the glove compartment or middle arm rest storage. Now the pros: 1.Great acceleration 2.Keyless entry...just keep it in your pocket 3.Better sound system then the previous generation even without BOSE system 4.Wireless phone charging 5.Better comfortable seating 6.UVO system allows to to lock, unlock, start, check status, locate your vehicle and more, right from your computer, tablet or smart phone...long over due upgrade. 7.Nice wrapped steering wheel that feels more luxurious to handle 8.Heated and cooled seats 9.Smart trunk access....Just stand next to the trunk for a few seconds and it will pop open for you 10. 5 Charging ports as oppose to 3 in the prior models 11.Great safety feature 12.Auto hold to keep the vehicle from moving without having your foot on the breaks 13.Remote start on the key fob 14. 18' sport wheels 15.Fantastic rearview camera 16.Spare donut tire in the trunk 17.Smoother, more solid ride 18 Lastly it looks great and has plenty of power 19. and lets not forget the 8'screen with navigation and android auto and apple play.
I just bought the K5 GT Line. Looks BEAUTIFUL!!! I have wolf grey exterior with black interior! Exterior features are off the chain at night! Light features are awesome! Drive modes are really, reall great! I do miss my XM radio, but I can always add that, and I miss my cooling heated seats, but overall, this is an awesome ride!!!! I would've gotten the EX but it only can in black with grey interior. That contrast combo was not attractive, so that's the only reason why I left the EX alone.
I have to say Kia and Hyundai have come a long way. My 2020 Civic has 7,300 miles and there are already several rattles in the interior and one from the outside when the front doors are closed. The front seats also already starting to squeak lie an old mattress (wasn't doing that when the car was a day to two months old). I was in a Kia Forte rental with 6,700 miles and the seats make no sound at all and there was only one little rattle that was almost not even noticeable at all. Interior also feels very well built and an improvement over my friends 2013 elantra. I wonder how the 2021 would be like.
yonda ila my car had ZERO rattles until a month later after i bought it. It seems honda is cutting corners in the ninth and tenth gen civics in comparison to the eigth gens which in my opinion had better built quality aside from the paint quality.
We (critiquers on RUclips, the motoring press, enthusiasts) are always complaining about boring cars. Kia has absolutely shut us up... What a cool, unique, really interesting, sharp design!
@@adamporter3402 That's the point. Look at the sales numbers. Midsize sales are way down due to crossovers. Do you even pay attention to the industry news? Apparently not. Educate yourself before you open your mouth.
I just bought the K5 GT LINE today in passion red. With the premium package! Very impressed. Plenty of get up and go!! I love it. And the led lights at night are fantastic. The road is all lit up very well..auto hi beams work great.
Better technology as well. I wish the American k5 had the Sonata's guage cluster with the turn signal sideview cameras and overheard bird's eye view camera. Hopefully they update it in later generations.
definitely, and with more tech. But what's really annoying is the use of piano black. It just makes the whole interior look cheap even though it may not really be
The GT line does offer navigation, I test drove an AWD GT Line yesterday and thought it was great. Definitely looking forward to the 2.5 GT coming in Dec 2020.
Just think if they brought the Korean specs to America. In Korea this K5 has a full digital gauge cluster and a lot more features that are missing in America for some odd reason.
Love my 2022 K5 EX Premium pkg. it does have a lot of differences that you’d like in it compared to 2021 360 camera is available. All windows. Auto seat positions.

The GT Line does it 4 me. I'm more partial 2 darker interior cars. Plus color really pops on the GT Line. I'm actually glad the dash isn't digital like most cars are leaning 2wards (Sonata).
California_ Dreaming Loved it. But it was time for something new. I had the LX. I would have gone with the Accord in a higher trim. But I wouldn’t have been satisfied buying a car that looks the exact same over again. But when it’s time for a new car I’ve decided it will be another Honda. The Kia is having some issues already.
California_ Dreaming nothing too major! It’s not anything where I would tell someone not to buy it. But my AC is currently only blowing out of the defrost vents. I can’t get air to come out of any other vent. There’s recall on the fuel system it has to be inspected.
All brands do this except for a one or two. It does bring lots of benefits for all non-car people. Basically, the tips will always stay clean and nobody will directly be gassed behind you. Yes, it's less cool but way more practical.
@@Samosayummyyay not all brands do it. Still, it doesn't excuse the fact that's a cheap way of doing things. Miss the 00s cars for that! No downsizing engines, no fake engine noise! No fake exhaust.
yeah the fake exhausts really threw me off... I can deal with the fake breathers on the sides but fake exhausts is a major L. And then the Korean version has better features.. Not a terrible car but I expected better. Ill wait and see what the 2022 models come up with
I mean I have a 2019 Camry now and I am in love with it. This KIA is really getting my attention. The only scary thing is that I am switching from Toyota to a Kia. I don't think I could do that.
Lol, 45 years ago, people said the same thing about Toyota, Honda, and then, DATSUN, known today as Nissan. Eventually, the biased ones came around, the others died off, and a new generation without automotive name bigotry, started buying them buy the droves. My 1st brand new car was a 79 Toyota Celica. I was 20. Loved it. But it had multiple cracked exhaust manifold issues, and water pump failures. Aside from that, it was a great car. Very good looking inside and out. They sold like hotcakes. I was 26 when the horrible Hyundai EXCEL came to America. Not a bad looking car, decent interior, but even new, you could feel the metal car frame when sitting on the seats. Absolutely super slow, no way I thought would I ever buy one of those. But I bought my 1st kia , in 2005, a SPECTRA EX. I liked it fine, was so surprised how much I liked it. No issues or problems. Kept it 5 years. Sold it with about 75.000 miles. No repairs, just 2 batteries, 1 set new tires. Have had 4 Korean cars now, including this new K5 GT LINE with premium package. The others were great cars, I expect this one will be also. You should definitely go for a test drive to check one out. Won't cost you a dime.
Optima was always called the k5 in Korea and they wanted to bring some overall uniformity to the brand is my guess. Similar to Honda and Acura there is no such thing as Acura in Japan.
Perfect evaluation and comparison… just bought the Gt-line. Wish I saw this video before hand but I prefer the cheaper car… wireless CarPlay…. I don’t have many people in the car so don’t mind the seat adjustments etc.
Beware of Kia dealer markups! It's not just on the Kia EVs. Order it online instead once you know which trim you want. I test drove the 1.6L EX and it has a descent amount of power and handling. Amazing interior details.
Wow when i saw this car in the Korean model i was so excited but this has been such a disappointment that none of those goods carried over..not even the digital clusters
I like the GT line for exterior looks but I also like the EX for the features. If I had to choose one, it would definitely be the EX. I spend most of my time INSIDE the car so I would want to enjoy the extra features.
I like having fog lights to assist with bad weather visibility, so I don't think I'd buy a vehicle without them. I also prefer the front end of the GT, so it's the GT Line for me.
FlashCombo Most of these cars come with warranties that cover the problems. You’re also saying that like Hyundai or Kia don’t have bad reliability rates themselves.
GT Red looks really nice externally, glad it's a lower trim than EX. I like the location of wireless charger. Not liking GT Line seats, EX is much better ...interesting no wireless carplay on EX. Fake wood trim is a nice touch. Kia is really establishing themselves these days with the aggressive stylings.
A full digital display would be nice, but that's only one more expensive tech display that can break down and be costly to fix. I like the old school version personally and 8inch infotainment is a perfect size.
Can we get all size versions of the stinger? I really do not understand why all "sedans" are not hatches. That is one of the main reasons people keep buying crossovers
Because for some stupid reason in America people don't buy hatchbacks. Even large ones. Personally I agree with you I love wagons and hatchbacks for the practicality. But people don't buy them. It's the reason the Toyota venza the Honda Crosstour, were all canceled. For some reason people just don't buy them. The stinger is not selling well in the US either.. which is just really dumb. You got a super awesome sports sedan that's actually practical.
I have been a Toyota and Mazda boy for so long. But after educating myself more on different brands from consumer reports, I can officially say that I am Team Hyundai/Kia/Genesis! They WILL overtake Toyota and Lexus shortly. Just take my word for it. I will be trading in my 2019 Camry XSE V6 for either the Hyundai Sonata N-Line or the Kia K5 GT! 🇰🇷 The South Koreans are offering VALUE! You get so much more for your money’s worth. Plus their reliability has skyrocketed as well. Not quite to Toyota’s level yet I don’t think. But Genesis did beat Lexus in that regards according to Consumer Reports in 2019. Toyota and ESPECIALLY Honda needs to take notes from the South Koreans because Honda has just failed since the introduction of the pity Oil Dilution 1.5T 💀
yonda ila mhm... oil dilution on their 1.5t engines? Also like half of em are made in Mexico where the quality isnt as good... get a Toyota instead of a Honda but the Korean cars are the superior choice. I love my 2020 Tucson limited... their quality is higher than Hondas these days.
xse 49 why would they price it like that?!... if they price it like the Sonata (which has a SVM and digital gauge cluster), people would definitely buy it. Either way, I personally think this K5 is going to do well.
Boy, what the American automakers would do to have successful sedans in their lineup again. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, and Hyundai have all been killing it with their sedans and will continue to for a long time
They should've at least upsized the center gauge cluster screen from 4.2" to at least 5 or 7" like the Cadenza & Stinger have that center 7" helper screen. A 4.2" screen look small now since that's been around since 2014 in the Optima depending on the configuration
I’m sad, I live in the Midwest so awd would be a really nice thing so I wish I got this k5 but I’m not going to complain about my 2018 ex premium optima.it truly is an amazing vehicle
I think they will change in very soon. I remember reading a Korean article about the new logo. Edit: I found a video. It's all in Korean but you can see the logo there. ruclips.net/video/Hg3IuA91cLU/видео.html
Looks good but I prefer the previous one's design. Same with the name... I know they use it outside the US, but optima sounds much much better than k5.
"K5" makes the car sound less cheap, and more sporty. When people think of the Optima, "cheap midsize sedan" comes to mind. KIA wants to step away from that, also being hinted by the fact they redesigned their badge that would appear on most models starting next year.
Got rid of my Ford Focus because of its faulty dual-clutch transmission which Ford knew about. But have to say it is the best decision I have made all year. I went with the 2022 EX and I couldn't be happier!! GT 2.5 which is now out has more power but it also runs on a dual-clutch transmission so I was a bit hesitant. I haven't heard KiA having the same problems as Ford. So they're probably worked it out. It would have been nice to have the fog lights I admit but it's not a deal-breaker. I also like the fact that you can tweak the steering and transmission when you want a little more performance. Nice touch as it makes up for the lack of a bigger engine. Overall you really can't go wrong with either. Never thought I'd buy KiA but now I'm wondering why I waited so long. The hard part now is to keep the mileage down!! :b
That isn't really the case. But I will tell you what I've said to many others. As long as people keep believing this, I'm going to be getting a car for thousands less than I should.

7. The EX doesn't have standard ambient lighting, unless you happen to find a premium package k5
8.There is no longer a sunglass holder like in the previous generation optima, youll just have to put them in the glove compartment or middle arm rest storage.
Now the pros:
1.Great acceleration
2.Keyless entry...just keep it in your pocket
3.Better sound system then the previous generation even without BOSE system
4.Wireless phone charging
5.Better comfortable seating
6.UVO system allows to to lock, unlock, start, check status, locate your vehicle and more, right from your computer, tablet or smart phone...long over due upgrade.
7.Nice wrapped steering wheel that feels more luxurious to handle
8.Heated and cooled seats
9.Smart trunk access....Just stand next to the trunk for a few seconds and it will pop open for you
10. 5 Charging ports as oppose to 3 in the prior models
11.Great safety feature
12.Auto hold to keep the vehicle from moving without having your foot on the breaks
13.Remote start on the key fob
14. 18' sport wheels
15.Fantastic rearview camera
16.Spare donut tire in the trunk
17.Smoother, more solid ride
18 Lastly it looks great and has plenty of power
19. and lets not forget the 8'screen with navigation and android auto and apple play.
I'm all about that ex
its all about value for money but the EX is the better buy👍👍
hol' up
Don’t let your old lady read that.
Saw a K5 on the road yesterday... looked nice!
Did you take a picture?
That rear end looks amazing!!😍
I have to say Kia and Hyundai have come a long way. My 2020 Civic has 7,300 miles and there are already several rattles in the interior and one from the outside when the front doors are closed. The front seats also already starting to squeak lie an old mattress (wasn't doing that when the car was a day to two months old). I was in a Kia Forte rental with 6,700 miles and the seats make no sound at all and there was only one little rattle that was almost not even noticeable at all. Interior also feels very well built and an improvement over my friends 2013 elantra. I wonder how the 2021 would be like.
My Volvo is really comfortable with no ratttles your civic has cheap built parts so they go bad very quickly
yonda ila my car had ZERO rattles until a month later after i bought it. It seems honda is cutting corners in the ninth and tenth gen civics in comparison to the eigth gens which in my opinion had better built quality aside from the paint quality.
Is this a spam account? I always see this same comment posted on Redline videos
f181234 no it is not.
@Anna Carson no it is not.
We (critiquers on RUclips, the motoring press, enthusiasts) are always complaining about boring cars. Kia has absolutely shut us up... What a cool, unique, really interesting, sharp design!
Literally every sedan car review video starts with some sort of “SUV dominating the market” comment 😂🙄🙄
Car reviewers seem to forget that midsize sedans are still competitive
🤣🤣🤣
He isn't wrong, numbers don't lie!
So did your comment.
@@adamporter3402 That's the point. Look at the sales numbers. Midsize sales are way down due to crossovers. Do you even pay attention to the industry news? Apparently not. Educate yourself before you open your mouth.
I got my K5 on July 27th I got the GT line all black I traded in my 2020 Sportage I love this car so much.
Kia is writing a great comeback story and I hope they continue to get better from here!
I just bought the K5 GT LINE today in passion red. With the premium package! Very impressed. Plenty of get up and go!! I love it. And the led lights at night are fantastic. The road is all lit up very well..auto hi beams work great.
The Sonata has a better interior tbh better materials as well
It’s always Kia = Exterior and Hyundai =Interior
Better technology as well. I wish the American k5 had the Sonata's guage cluster with the turn signal sideview cameras and overheard bird's eye view camera.
Hopefully they update it in later generations.
Yeah but that sonata exterior just... ruins the car tbh
definitely, and with more tech. But what's really annoying is the use of piano black. It just makes the whole interior look cheap even though it may not really be
@@matnat21 I actually love the exterior of the sonata
I honestly can't decide between the blue and the red. Both of these coulours look so good.
Guys like me will have to wait for the full GT model.
I would definitely black wrap the chrome trim that goes around the roof and back window.
invidinvasion you must be looking in the mirror chim chim.
Test drove it, definitely want it but really need that AWD version! The dealer told me they wouldn't get those until the beginning of next year 🙄
Love my silver K5 Ex Purchased last Friday straight off the truck fully equipped... thanks Sons Kia McDonough, Ga.
The GT line is so beautiful
The GT line does offer navigation, I test drove an AWD GT Line yesterday and thought it was great. Definitely looking forward to the 2.5 GT coming in Dec 2020.
Just like hyundai, kia is killin it with design and tech.
How much was it
@@Ghostlore $33k
@@tsullivan8043 so pretty affordable and did you think it’s better to go with that over the gt line with premium package?
I had one behind me today on the interstate was looking nice !!
Just purchased the GT- hands down the best car I’ve ever driven.
We need a coupe version with this front end. Or a Stinger with this front.
You left out the fact that the EX has rear AC vents and the GT Line doesn’t. Very important for people with kids!
What do your neighbors think when you have two of the same vehicles in your driveway any different press cars every week
They don't think anything of it. They all know by now that he is a car reviewer so this is nothing out of the ordinary.
Jaspreet Singh that’s the problem nowadays, everyone is worried about what’s

GT line because of the fog light and those DRL man.... spicy 🔥🔥 can’t wait to see what the full GT will offer.
GT Line's exterior is superior, however the EX wins on interior.
Yeah agreed, I bought the EX model
I never thought I'd say this EVER, but the new Kia K5, looks nice
The GT Line will definitely be Kia's top seller . I love it ! 👍
The GT Line does it 4 me. I'm more partial 2 darker interior cars. Plus color really pops on the GT Line. I'm actually glad the dash isn't digital like most cars are leaning 2wards (Sonata).
Reminds me of the early 2000s mitsubishi Galant and the Dodge Charger/Dart
I saw the front end and immediately thought they took design elements from the 2002 Mitsubishi Galant.
@@trent7080 Yes
You are right!
That was also my first thought. I always liked the shark nose design of those Galants.
Sedans may not be whats hot right now but they will NEVER die.
This is an easy pick, the GT-Line. Fog lights, black back spoiler and better look overall. Also way cheaper than the EX trim...
The EX, is the luxury version.. the gt line follows the sporty version. If money is no object, thats how they should be chosen.
Just picked up a 2021 Kia K5 in Saphire blue on Friday. I’m pretty in love with it. I wish the panoramic opened farther. I traded in my 18 Accord.
California_ Dreaming But if you have the K5 in mind I wouldn’t say don’t get it! But check out the Accord. You won’t be disappointed.
Love the car, but wtf fake chrome exhaust? This has to stop.
Ill wait and see what the 2022 models come up with
@@LIG87 I agree! Maybe it's a transition to all EV... I don't know 😮
It's not gonna stop at that price point.
The wireless phone slot was my favorite feature
GT Line is my favorite.
Just wish I could get the BOSE stereo in the Gt line. I'm getting mine next month. Oh well.....
I mean I have a 2019 Camry now and I am in love with it. This KIA is really getting my attention. The only scary thing is that I am switching from Toyota to a Kia. I don't think I could do that.
I wish Toyota would offer a manual transmission in the Camry!
I wonder why they changed the name completely with such a beautiful design. People already are familiar with the Optima name.
Optima was always called the k5 in Korea and they wanted to bring some overall uniformity to the brand is my guess. Similar to Honda and Acura there is no such thing as Acura in Japan.
I for one never liked the name optima. And never considered it just because of that.
@@johnfranklin5277 I swear the rental companies would confuse it with the Altima when I would ask about them...lol
The EX radio is designed to look like an old vacuum tube radio. That is cool!
Why does kia not give the K5 the digital instrument cluster like it does in Korea?
$$$
Perfect evaluation and comparison… just bought the Gt-line. Wish I saw this video before hand but I prefer the cheaper car… wireless CarPlay…. I don’t have many people in the car so don’t mind the seat adjustments etc.
@5:40 the GT Line in Wolf Gray has the optional red leatherette interior.
Just bought one and it’s so dope!!

I have the wolf grey with red interior....love it!

Beware of Kia dealer markups! It's not just on the Kia EVs. Order it online instead once you know which trim you want. I test drove the 1.6L EX and it has a descent amount of power and handling. Amazing interior details.
Everything kia is doing is just phenomenal.
Point blank period GT LINE!! That’s just me anyways 😂
the lightbulb clock is called "Nixie Tube" clock
Kia is rocking...I'm very impressed. I feel like the GT-Line should've been more premium than the EX.

1st as always! Hopefully I get a shoutout in one of Sofyan’s videos! Very nice presentation. Wishing you all the best
I like having fog lights to assist with bad weather visibility, so I don't think I'd buy a vehicle without them. I also prefer the front end of the GT, so it's the GT Line for me.
I would upgrade my 2019 Altima SR for this
Great choice 👍
For sure. Nissan is hit or miss.
crazy talk.
Nissan always has transmission problems which cost $3000+
FlashCombo Most of these cars come with warranties that cover the problems. You’re also saying that like Hyundai or Kia don’t have bad reliability rates themselves.
I have serius xm on my smartphone. I Bluetooth it to the radio, works great. All the regular functions pop up on the screen as well.
GT both Front and Rear wins in looks.
Just wait for the real GT trim :D
GT Red looks really nice externally, glad it's a lower trim than EX. I like the location of wireless charger. Not liking GT Line seats, EX is much better ...interesting no wireless carplay on EX. Fake wood trim is a nice touch. Kia is really establishing themselves these days with the aggressive stylings.
Kia is on 🔥
A full digital display would be nice, but that's only one more expensive tech display that can break down and be costly to fix. I like the old school version personally and 8inch infotainment is a perfect size.
Interesting that these arent as "Loaded" with options as id think. Good Price but its missing XM radio??? ok!
XM radio shouldnt be a deal breaker lol
When did he say it's missing XM radio...?
I bought the GT Line last week. It comes with Sirius XM radio.
If you have Sirius xm on your phone, You can BLUETOOTH it to your car radio. Still sounds just fine.
@@StalewindFarto you must have the premium package, expensive, but I think you get Sirius with that.
That wired phone feature is so high tech.
Any model coming with a manual transmission?
Can we get all size versions of the stinger? I really do not understand why all "sedans" are not hatches. That is one of the main reasons people keep buying crossovers
Because for some stupid reason in America people don't buy hatchbacks. Even large ones.
Personally I agree with you I love wagons and hatchbacks for the practicality. But people don't buy them. It's the reason the Toyota venza the Honda Crosstour, were all canceled. For some reason people just don't buy them.
The stinger is not selling well in the US either.. which is just really dumb. You got a super awesome sports sedan that's actually practical.
Led lighting comes on the GT LINE, with the premium package, which includes the panoramic sunroof, along with other items.
Ex Headlights are Led reflectors not projector.
I have the yet to be released GT on order. Bigger engine, all the GT styling and all the EX options. Can’t wait!!
Get the Hyundai. It has more features 😀
Ethan Hutsell no asshole get Honda
Brandon Lin no he should get a Honda it better
yonda ila dating the honda is better is like saying elephants are microwaves lmao. honda has gotten so bad with reliability and design.
yonda ila mhm... oil dilution on their 1.5t engines? Also like half of em are made in Mexico where the quality isnt as good... get a Toyota instead of a Honda but the Korean cars are the superior choice. I love my 2020 Tucson limited... their quality is higher than Hondas these days.
No 360 camera, no digital gauge cluster, no built-in dash cam... hope they add these along with a hybrid powertrain for the next refresh.
which car has a built in dash cam?
Ashkan Moftakhar the same car n the Korean market.
Kia said they are not building a K5 hybrid for the US market. All Kia hybrids for the US market will ne Crossovers/SUVs.
if they add all that and ask you to pay 45 to 48k, you will complain , saying you cant pay that for a kia.
xse 49 why would they price it like that?!... if they price it like the Sonata (which has a SVM and digital gauge cluster), people would definitely buy it. Either way, I personally think this K5 is going to do well.
Am I the only one who like the design of the previous generation.
Me too, I really liked the 2012-2015 models
the 2011 optima aged like wine.
Ur not alone. The rear end isn't very nice
I'm keeping my 14 Optima Sxl.
@@La-yt1wr you probably recognize my taillight in my pic haha
Boy, what the American automakers would do to have successful sedans in their lineup again. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, and Hyundai have all been killing it with their sedans and will continue to for a long time
Not necessarily. The big money is in SUVs and Trucks and American makers do well in those segments.
Getting vague charger vibes from this body design...
The front does remind me of a charger
@@t.c.whitney7743 actually the rear looks a little like a charger, front is giving me Mustang vibes.
They should've at least upsized the center gauge cluster screen from 4.2" to at least 5 or 7" like the Cadenza & Stinger have that center 7" helper screen. A 4.2" screen look small now since that's been around since 2014 in the Optima depending on the configuration
This KIA K5 looks great but would have been nicer with the sonata interior
I also wish the Optima and Telluride have the digital instrument clusters like the hyundai cousins.
It almost feel like Hyundai is holding Kia back here, making them leave the nicer options in Korea.
I’m sad, I live in the Midwest so awd would be a really nice thing so I wish I got this k5 but I’m not going to complain about my 2018 ex premium optima.it truly is an amazing vehicle
When is KIA going to change their emblem?!
I think they will change in very soon. I remember reading a Korean article about the new logo.
Edit: I found a video. It's all in Korean but you can see the logo there. ruclips.net/video/Hg3IuA91cLU/видео.html
🤣🤣🤣
I heard that they will start using a new emblem when they roll out the fulltime EVs in a few years.
K5 EX is the best hands down. Im driving a 2016 optima EX and I won’t get another trim level other then the EX when I eventually upgrade
Looks good but I prefer the previous one's design. Same with the name... I know they use it outside the US, but optima sounds much much better than k5.
I love it but I wish it would’ve been named the optima.
"K5" makes the car sound less cheap, and more sporty. When people think of the Optima, "cheap midsize sedan" comes to mind. KIA wants to step away from that, also being hinted by the fact they redesigned their badge that would appear on most models starting next year.
@@dave_riots I thought the optima wasn't too bad. I think they could've kept the name if they wanted to.
@@khailils446 Probably not to you or I, but to people who have to budget and want a flashy new car, the Optima had to evolve into the K5.
@@dave_riots yeah it was the smarter move, but I don't think the car would've fallen on its face or anything.
@@khailils446 No, it wouldn't. But since KIA is rapidly changing their appeal, their lineup had to follow.
There’s a reason they have such long warranties, you need them
That isn't really the case. But I will tell you what I've said to many others. As long as people keep believing this, I'm going to be getting a car for thousands less than I should.
I've owned 3 kias, put well over 100.000 miles on each one. Never needed any Warranty work. So your comment is null and void. Hater.
