Crazy race. I was the #2 car, immediately to your left on the grid that got the 4x from the crazies. The #5, next to last on grid, went as soon as the pace car did which confused all the D license guys who were unsure of how to start. The #14, the guy who slid back on the track in front of you in the infield, was two cars to your right on the grid and went early, too. He's the one who hit me on pit road. Thankfully, I regained a couple hundred IR this week and got out of the 1.4-1.5k split.
You picked the triple header for chaos: - Free car - Free track - D class It’s a shame, this car is one of the best to race with a good group of people. Unfortunately it’s quite often a train wreck
That was a crazy start. I got 3rd in my first run, missed 2nd cause a backmarker with a blown engine decided he wanted to hold the racing line on the infield
I think this is one of, if not my worst track on the sim, and the traction control in these seems to make it worse. Nice start, and looks like you’ve really improved under heavy braking!
Thanks! Yeah the TC is a bear here because of those curbs. The second one wheel gets slightly off the ground the car just wants to spin, but the quickest way around is to attack the curbs so it’s a big risk/reward… normally. This race though was something else haha
@@BobGiaquintoRacing I've found that my ability to get the GR to rotate on high speed turns is a weakness, I'm going to try a different elastomer, I think my initial travel is a bit too soft so those 10% braking inputs are not nearly as precise as they need to be and I end up over braking a lot, definitely noticeable on tracks like interlagos. I'm running the basic CSL LC and software really only has an overall pressure setting, no curves or anything fancy to play around with. I'm using garage61 mostly for telemetry, but it lacks the yaw angle, which is what I'm chasing now, so I might try and setup motec, or suck it up and pay for VRS.
@@BobGiaquintoRacing Well thanks for the T1 advice, that was .4 right there, I got down into the low 1.33s, but still had an awful race, that combo is cursed, I'm doing something else for the rest of the week!
@@tbonelittlet haha I feel ya. I have an ultra wide monitor but it really doesn’t add much. I still have to hold the look left button to see what’s happening
So the camera is the default location for the car but I bumped my FOV up a little bit. In the black boxes (I want to say F7 or F8) I adjusted my height so that the mirror lines up more with the sun strip on the car to give me a little better view. For graphics settings I have most of the options set to high since I have a decent CPU and GPU

This layout in this car should be fun, but I kinda hate it, I also had a frustrating race and need to figure out why I'm so slow in sector 1 😵💫
It’s such a difficult section. Between T1 and clipping the curb just right and the double apex section on the infield it’s tough to get right.

gr86 is a fun car, wish it was license C or B. Class D used to be a complete carnage and makes everything not fun anymore
Agreed. It’s my favorite car on iRacing but sometimes it’s just an absolute disaster
this is exactly how my race here went too LOL
It was such a mess. The one thing I wish they would change is this stupid grid style. Just line us up 2 by 2 and have the cars roll off that way
