The birds aren't real livery just had me laughing several times throughout this haha. I saw it on Trading Paints yesterday and I just find myself laughing like a child every time I see it.
I was a few cars in front of you in that 3rd race and got caught up in that pile up 50m up the track. I feel your pain Dave , 5 starts today and 4 DNF!
The GR86 is so much fun to drive at Lime Rock and you can attack that chicane really hard.
Some of the guys from the league did some hosted races the other night at Lime Rock and Oulton and we had a great time.
It is an ideal car to progress from the MX5 as you say Dave and I think they will be popular.

In my league we are switching to this from MX5 for the Winter Season. We tried it and everyone fell in love with it.

The GR86, I'm new to iRacing (2/3 weeks max), got upto 3.4 safety rating in mx5, joined GR86, got the car handling together. pretty decent fast enough, other drivers got me to 2.1 odds, went back to mx5, back up to 3.3 ish in 4/5 races, will try the 86 again in a few weeks when I get my C or above, so many idiots! I feel your pain!
We've all got the week 13 blues , I hear ya Dave, took me 5 races to complete 1 in the GR86 yesterday. Not everyone understands that the brake pedal can also be used in week 13 conditions but it makes for some interesting passing maneuver practice lol, that overtake you did around the black 86 in R3 after the first corner was some really cool driving though mate, if you hadn't been nailed to the wall shortly after, you would have come out on top

I did a race with these at Okayama and had two straight laps of side-by-side with no crashing. Definitely never happened in F4 or MX-5 cars.
Oh, great stuff - the TV camera view is back. Awesomes 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Shame you passed the Birdwatching car so fast, I was trying to read the logos 🤣. I don't understand how so many of these were flying off into the scenery all over the place, they're so easy to drive. Very enjoyable indeed. I did Okayama last night, got taken out by as collateral damage by a spinner at turn 1 but recovered from 20th to 9th (I think) and only overtook one car. Everyone else was rushing off for a date with Barry R. Popular lad is our Barry, everybody wants a piece of him.

I found the 86 thoroughly enjoyable but had a problem with rear stability under braking. Had to be very careful getting on the brakes into hard braking zones to keep the car straight, but Dave's telemetry shows him quite quick with his left foot. I might try shifting the brake bias forward next time.
I find it funny hearing Dave say they handle curbs well after watching Jimmers Race for Health and seeing so many 86's flipping out, lmao.

Love this Dave! Im just venturing into the GR86 from the mx-5. I love your corner track feed while you raced, was that live or put in for the video? Ive always wanted to be to have a pop up screen showing replay clips at anytime during a race, do you know if its possible?
You can do it with two accounts but it would just play the whole race. I put it in during the edit 👍
Was on discord with some friends and one was like "let's try it". Never driven the track or car before, so of cause I'm like "Yeah!". Got 2 laps of practice in at around 1.52 before race started. Qualified P18 of 22 with 1.50.8 - slowest of all qualified with 1.5 sec up to P17. This was one of the most fun races I've ever had! People were really clean, but fighting constantly. Finished P13 and got my lap time down to 1.47, - still 1.5 sec from the fastest in my split but coly cow it was fun. I wish this car were there when I was in rookies.
So I learned about Dave Cam just recently due to a sim racing podcast he was guest on. Liked him and his story and down to earth mentality so much, I relistened as soon as it was over. It's a bit embarrassing, I'm sure, but I've never done that in any podcast ever before. So hello everyone, I'm gonna stick around the channel. 🥂

i jumped into a few races last night and to my surprise the racing was really good?! i honestly have no idea why it was any good and honestly it should of been terrible giving the splits i was in but the stars aligned and somehow i managed to get in a solid 6 races without getting wrecked once. i wouldn't believe it if it didnt happen to me lol
They are so much fun to drive. Looking forward to how the season works out.

I made it to the last lap of my race at Lime Rock in the GR86 and got taken out at the chicane by being T boned by someone that didn't even lift... I still finished 3rd hehe.
My week 13 was same. Just chaos in P217

They should rename week 13 as IR and SR Donation week.
This race was unofficial so you don't lose anything

Only had time to do a few laps of practice at Lime Rock, fun little car which should make for a good little one make series they are doing.

Weren't these supposed to be faster than Miatas? I'm a 1.8k driver and can do consistent 1:00.5s at lime rock gp. Gotta imagine 3k drivers doing sub 1 minute laps.
Production car challenge is going to be interesting at lime rock with Jettas, Miatas and the gr86 all doing the same times.

The GR86 is the perfect car for week 13. The racing is incredibly close and fun, but with close racing comes a lot of 4x. I love racing it, but there is no way i'm going to throw away my SR in an official GR86 race

How does it drive compared to the MX-5? Haven't had a chance to do any racing the last couple weeks.
Pretty similar in pace I'd say but this has downforce so mid corner maybe a bit quicker
@@davecamyt that makes sense seeing it. It looked like braking zones were quite a bit deeper and you could hug the apex a bit more on the flat corners at the bottom of the track.
In your opinion is rF2 LFM cleaner racing than in iRacing?

Can someone explain the significance of week 13? I'm new to iracing.
It's a week where the new build is rolled out and bugs are reported and fixed ready for the new season. As a lot of the races are unofficial (no IR or SR impact), people seem to drive a little.more erratically than usual.
I had a go on iracing in GT3 , i think I might unsubscribe from iracing , the gt3 have so much understeer but then they snap and it’s impossible to save them now

This is a prime example of why I quit iRacing. Instead of the safety rating, how about a common sense rating? iRacing doesn’t do anything to reduce this crap either. Hell, they cannot even publish instructions.
