    I purchased a new aux cord, a new aux port, and deliberated paying the $100 quote Audio Express gave me before this tutorial showed me the ACTUAL (not to mention FREE) fix to my car’s issue…The procedure was simple and took only 10 mins. Now I finally have my music back and I’m seriously overjoyed 😊❤️ YOU THE MAN DAN 🙌

    I’ve been struggling with this issue for YEARS. Thank you so much for your great walkthrough, explanation of underlying issue, and intuitive fix!
    One note for future viewers, my paper clip was coated in some wax which made the jumper not work. I stripped the wax off and reinstalled and all was right with the world again.

    Thank you so much! My aux port is working 100% now. Don’t make the mistake I made though. It’s only about 10° F right now at my house. This may have made the aux housing a little more brittle. I should have let everything warm up a bit first. I broke a couple of small pieces off when I pushed it back into the dash. No real issues, but could have been worse. If it breaks, Amazon has new ones for about $10.

    What's the purpose of the paperclip? Does swapping out the port in of itself not fix the problem?

    • @dannysdiygarage
      @dannysdiygarage  Год назад +2

      you can swap out the port and it should fix your problem, the paper clip tricks it into thinking the adapter is in, what happens is the port wears out and doesn't know the adapter is in, that's why it doesn't work, hope this explains it

    I bumped mine a while ago and now it doesn’t recognize that something is plugged in. Would this fix work?

      I would say 95% successful, when you bumped it it probably bent the connection internally, this should fix that

    my2006 civic didn't came with any aux input. so i opened the unit found the auxiliary input on the circuit board and made a custom made aux input. it is working fine but the problem is that the audio quality is not there. Sounds like 64kbps. any ideas?
