    I've actually done a spraypainted grill before when I was younger, but I took it off because it looked tacky. Spraypainted stuff you can often tell that it's spraypaint, especially if you go with a gloss black like that. I think you should have left the grille alone. But nice job with the detail and fixing that paint fade.

    • @benjamindickey8524
      @benjamindickey8524 Год назад

      It also will chip from rocks in like 1 month and the chrome will show through, I agree to leave the grill alone or replace it with a professionally blacked out one. Or wrap it black

    • @typhlosionisbest
      @typhlosionisbest Год назад

      Spray painting it would've been fine if he sanded it down and layered it properly, basically the process for spray painting any other surface. Right now, the black is just sitting on top of the grille's clear coat, like a mask, so it'll just chip away/show imperfections. It would look good and hold up well over time with some more work, though.

    This is literally the process I do. When I used to buy all my used cars like to the tee. Interior, polish headlights i use the wet sand then clear coat method. On the cars with bad paint but no body damage I would paint the whole car. San the whole thing hit it with primer/filler then used rust oleum 2x gloss paint whatever color that specific paint gives best results. Spray two coats of color of choice, hit it with rust oleum 2x clear about 2 coats then wet sand the whole thing carefully not to sand through the paint then buff it out and bam 💥. Used to flip a car with “ new” paint for under 300 I’d say.

    I have the same car, and can’t use universal rear view mirrors, so I had to spend like $60 when I got mine. I had to get it tinted, replace the middle console, get floor mats (Honda ones suck), clean my head lights, and clean it up. The car lot was supposed to replace the weather stripping, but they lied 🤦🏻‍♀️ they did replace windshield, though. I got new tires and rims, but still need the weather stripping, ceiling is falling 🤦🏻‍♀️ and the paint around the doors needs redone. Thought I’d check out the video to get ideas,

    What type of paint did you use on the roof? I’m looking at doing the same but wondering if it’ll need a clear coat and if it will fade ?
