most likely late to this, but there was a scrapped ending after entering the void portal when killing voidling. The ending consisted of all of the void related enemies "shutting down" in a manner that's similar to a stereotypical robot shutting down. The ending is still in the files, 100% intact and essentially finished. There's a mod that enables, all this leads me to believe it was cut very late in Survivors of the Void's development. maybe they're constructs of some kind, idk? Not exactly a theorist myself. But I thought it would be important to add.
I think I have a pretty solid theory on the void fiend. I am almost certain that he is commando from the first game, and this is becuase of multiple lines of evidence. The first being that in the void fields log, we do not know who it is, so it could be commando going through the portal and, by being there, slowly turn into the void fiend. Something that backs this up is of you look at the void fiends character, you can see he has a similar helmet to commando, he is wearing some kind of shoes similar to commando, and he is a similar build, if you take away the huge crustacean arm. Also, I think the simularity between void fiend and commandos ability's isn't a coincedence. (excluding corruption mode) both m1 have a kind of short beam/laser kind of attack, the m2 shoots a phase ball or shot of some type, and their shift is a agaility item. And I think it would explain why the void fiend is willing to help the survivors, as literally no other entity from petrichor 5 is friendly, bar scavenger and newt as they technically are "neutral". It could also be the void fiend escaping the deep void that causes these void seeds to suddenly appear. Pls like this to get it seen if you agree.
This comment kinda only proves that void fiend was *A* commando, not the first commando, and upon the release of the dlc hopoo outright says that void fiend is a corrupted commando on the steam page for SOTV
@@blazeyude9999 on the steam page under survivor 2: Harness corruption with void fiend. “Turn the corruption in your favor and harness the power of The Void. REX is not unique, but only because of the plant surviving. In the REX log book, two people talk about robots trying to grow plants in space and all of them failing except one. That one actively seeks out windows on the space ship that have sunlight for the plant and I think some other things I don't remember off the top of my head. The (I assume) executive talking to one of the scientists then says they must terminate the robot because it broke protocols taking the plant out of its habitat area, which means it can't be trusted and probably some other asimov's rules of robot shenanigans As for captain, I think saying he's unique because of his shotgun is technically alright because there's no way there's another captain out there with a shotgun for an arm- although it's not like another person in a captain position can't also pick up a shotgun- but I think the more important part is the role, which you do mention there being more than one captain.

i've found that n'kuhana was something of an apostle to "her", but i could be off point as well.
Oh my guy just comes back
about the tar apothecary:
the planet of Aphelia is NOT the same as the Abandoned Aqueduct; Providence brought the Aphelians/tar people from their planet to Petrichor V and because of that the Tar began to respread on PV, with AA being the site of the Tar's starting location and the Aphelian Sanctuary being a separate location that houses the Aphelians that managed to cleanse themselves of the Tar, along with their offspring
most likely late to this, but there was a scrapped ending after entering the void portal when killing voidling.
@@Brio24 bruh they said that?? I thought I was like being smart for figuring it out but clearly it's obvious XDD
@@Brio24 upon checking it, I don't see where it says commando. It says corrupted *survivor* not commando
@@blazeyude9999 on the steam page under survivor 2: Harness corruption with void fiend. “Turn the corruption in your favor and harness the power of The Void. A corrupted commando is torn between controlling his new powers and being consumed by them.”
Edit: also a neat bit of information the first letters of all of VF’s abilities are the same as ror1 commando’s abilities
Double tap -> Drown
Full metal jacket -> Flood
Tactical dive -> Trespass
Suppressive Fire -> Supress
I don't think VF is so much helping the survivors as it is just having its own adventure to escape the planet and corrupt other people.
Ill defend egocentricism for one reason. If you are an Acrid player and willing to be a good friend in a coop setting, you can basically fill the role of the garbage bin. You just eat every warbanner and chronobauble you get.
Id love to see more of Gunfire! Not enough channels play it as much as otger roguelites
Rip lamp also nice content :)
pretty cool video
Is there any lore that indicates whether Bandit is the same or different from the one in the first game
He's a different bandit. That heard about the rumors of the contact and likely knows ror1 bandit
@@InsertSomethingStupid2002 where's that stated
@@TurnTwister His log entry. He talks about the contact as if he's only heard about it. And also mentions why the first bandit mightve been on ship in the first place
@@InsertSomethingStupid2002 woah
Correction: Egocentrism is not a really shitty lunar item.
I took the void jailers log as you can’t leave the void you can only go deeper
The glass beetle guard and beetle remind me of the fighting polygon team from super smash bros
Gunfire is fun as hell, shoot for the moon, man.
i feel like ego is a decent item i personally have been carried by it, but i see why people hate it, though its better taken late game
nah find a newt altar stage one and get one immediately if you really want a test of your speed. Can you outrun your own ego?
@@SkunkfapGaming Better yet, spawn next to a lunar bud that contains ego. Next, survive till you reach the Bulwark's Ambry(Artifact of Sacrifice). Then go watch RUclipsrs shit on Ego while you become an immortal Demigod.
Kinda hope we get another dlc where providence shows up somehow.
He's dead tho
he physically can't show up you kill him in the first game
@@ibymalik4139 How many times?
He's the final boss of the first game
Survivors Of The Lean
I would've thought "Her" be related to a frosty fella, since Her Biting Embrace gives u the power of popsicle
I see it as a reference to death, which fits N'kuhana
You are a god
For like $15 you can get these acoustic foam panels you can place on your walls
Guess who's back, back again
REX is not unique, but only because of the plant surviving.
In the REX log book, two people talk about robots trying to grow plants in space and all of them failing except one. That one actively seeks out windows on the space ship that have sunlight for the plant and I think some other things I don't remember off the top of my head.
The (I assume) executive talking to one of the scientists then says they must terminate the robot because it broke protocols taking the plant out of its habitat area, which means it can't be trusted and probably some other asimov's rules of robot shenanigans
As for captain, I think saying he's unique because of his shotgun is technically alright because there's no way there's another captain out there with a shotgun for an arm- although it's not like another person in a captain position can't also pick up a shotgun- but I think the more important part is the role, which you do mention there being more than one captain.
whats the music playing in the outro part?
what if it's a lemmerion but he ate ate human food after baking hald prisoner by the humans and then using the logs to write and then he compares it to clam chowder
nice editing, hope to see more vids!
Epic
i would say the blue dragon is the overloaded worm
Nice
Friendly void buddies :)
epic
Just want to ask: you mentioned in your last iceberg that an unused artifact code in the credit scenes and I was wondering was it implemented or?
straight up put a carton over your head and microphone to record audio. It may look stupid but it works quite well.
Do a risk of rain 1 iceberg :D
hey, i could be wrong, but i think the timestamps were placed in the description wrong
I MADE IT IN!
no, it's my house now
pretty sure rex didnt kill the crew. They turned him off, but were too attached to him to scrap him, so they just left him there
No, there is evidence that rex was killing the crew, and as a sentinent being was bargained with to stop
@@blazeyude9999 where is it said that he was killing the crew?
@@InsertSomethingStupid2002 it's in some logbook somewhere, but I'm pretty sure it's canon.
@@blazeyude9999 I think he was simply just deactivated and left behind. The one who wanted him turned off thought he could be dangerous
@@InsertSomethingStupid2002 I'll have to double check lol
nice
This video was great other than you calling ego a bad item. ego is like bungus but for merc. highest tier possible.
Dang wish it would come out on consoles
On the topic of the larva, blind vermin, and blind pest, the research format used for them is very common. D. Furthen and Tharsen are responsible for the logs for many other monsters, like the parent and hermit crab. There's no real thing of note, just some worldbuilding.
my name is jeff im 21 and my birthday was about a week ago

Ego centric is shitty? Pls use with engi or merc. Easily one of the coolest items in the game
