Lore Dump: Mithrix and Providence are estranged brothers whose attitudes towards the world and creatures around them differed too much. As nearly deific beings, Mithrix's aloof and uncaring attitude was at odds with Providence's empathic nature. Mithrix and Providence were trapped on Petrichor V, the planet you, the player, have crashlanded on. Mithrix's powers allow him to easily design creatures and structures, but because of his innate lack of empathy, he cannot imbue his creations with true life, with Soul. Eventually Mithrix created the teleporter gates, and as a test, placed one on the moon and used it. Providence sealed the gate on Petrichor behind Mithrix, trapping him on the moon, as the two are unable to travel in Space without succumbing to an illness caused by space. Providence and Mithrix are now eternally at odds, Mithrix has stewed with rage and hatred for millennia alone on the moon, and Providence has solemnly gathered species of creatures from doomed planets across space using teleporters to traverse the cosmos. But both brothers deep down longed for reconciliation. Purity represents their shared memory of being children, and it's description feels like a memory. Too bad you crashland on the planet in the first game and slaughter Providence, before later returning on a rescue mission and end up finishing what you started by killing Mithrix. Two brothers are now reunited in death. Something interesting to note. Aurelionite is a stone titan made with an abundance of soul. Providence let his own artistic vision take over instead of following Mithrix's formulaic design. Mithrix sealed Aurelionite in the Gilded Coast, gave him a few friends to keep him company, and left him there because Aurelionite's abundance of soul gave him not only great power, but also free will which meant he might turn on Mithrix and Providence. By paying money to the shrines, you have unlocked the Gilded Coast, and freed him. When you defeat him, he joins you and fights with you during teleporter events, seeking to find the brothers and destroy them. Too bad you killed Providence.

@@cheeseman4199 yup. The ship is on the moon. Mithrix is an asshat so he puts it under lock and key. Oh also I just realized as I’ve been playing a lot of ROR1… Providence has two wurms! The game kind of references them in ror2 with one of the lunar items stating that Mithrix wasn’t fond of worms, while his brother loved them. They’re two opposites. Mithrix is pure control. While providence is kind of chaos. Trying to explain the lore would take a long time, but there is lore!! It’s very interesting, and I suggest you look into it, as even the newts have their own lore. If I remember correctly, Mithrix and Providence are they only ones of their kind left? I could be wrong, but it seems likely… Providence and Mithrix loved each other I’m fairly certain, but they split apart because of the tension between their views. The heretic I think is actually a heretic of Providence, but I could be wrong… Her lore states her name, and how she became torn apart only to become whole when you get all the pieces. She actually tried to escape using one of the ships on the planet, but was caught.
I've opened a handful of those cloaked chests myself. If you see the prompt, you can actually see it faintly right there and even ping it. (One of the ones I found was because I pinged it on accident lol) Also if you put your camera right up to it, you can see that it is basically the same model as the lockboxes that the rusted key spawns, but just with a cloaking effect over it. Pretty cool, very rare.

It converts your health into shields that restore themselves when your out of combat for 7 seconds, and it will stop your health draining. On top of that, it grants a large percentage max health benefit based on your current base health, which the heretic gets 133 per level, more than 5 times any other survivor. you can easily get 5k+ Shielding by stacking transcendence, and even get enough to make the half health effect of Shattered glass seem trivial. (I was able to still have 3k shield in a run after grabbing 3 shaped glass, fun times) Edit: it also let's you focus your build immensely since healing items won't work anymore with transcendence , so you can scrap all of them and start picking up everything else

Some additional ways to press down the Abandoned Aquaduct buttons solo are either the pots, or the Captain. The Captain's beacons can press them down, though doing so obviously means using up one of your two beacons(though I argue spending a hacking beacon to get 2 guaranteed band items is worth it on stage 2, less so on loops if you already have the bands). Otherwise you can roll the pots onto the plates to press them down, which is extremely annoying on its own, but non-damaging movement abilities like Rex's basic shockwave or the black hole cube can do a good job on it.

I can't remember the name of the item because it's been a while since I played, but it turns all your health except 1 point into shields. This is super pwerful with the heretic, because your health is no longer drained
Idk if this is true or not but the blade that’s in the ground when going to face Mithrix I always think that the blade is Providence’s sword stating back to the first game
For the null portal below the cave on bazaar you can see a bunch of void reavers get stuck in crystal just like artificier its because they chasing newt but failure and let the portal open and for the new DLC if you go to void portal it lead you to void locus and on the below there is name (cell xvix----) so i think all the void creatures is like space cops they will chasing you for being overpower like after you defeat mithix they will spawn just for chasing you for killing god
the demons and the crabs is incredibly annoying because hopoo was like "f*** hermit crabs in particular" when designing the artifact of dissonance. it also doesn't help that abyssal depths, one of the only two maps that they can spawn on has no edge
If you want a glitch you know if the starting character Commando if you roll and jump at the same time you can do a super jump LOL that's what I call it
Im late but free locker chests spawn if you have a key (white item) in your inventory. The more keys you have, the higher chances you have to get higher rarity item.
Homie you also forgot Captain's Beacons also press down on switches. Which I love because engineer is boring to play. So I was happy his beacons still worked for the plates.
so... to explain the frog... When the official discord channel had a #memes section frogs appeared there SO MUCH. This was so prevalent that the devs put the glass frog there. I'm not even joking, a glass frog exists because people on the discord spammed frogs.
You know, I remember that you could switch out abilities with certain items, but I had no idea what items and why. Worst off it was during the early days of the game and I eventually forgot about said mechanic. I had no idea that the heretic existed! P.s after I found the code gate and the artefact that allowed you to choose your item, I would stop using most items
in my very first game I found a cloaked chest with old behemoth and both of my friends hadnt gotten one before and they togheter had 100+ hours lol ive since then found 4 more in my 230+ hours

I'm so glad I'm not alone with trying this game and instantly getting addicted.
glas frog now has a use in the new dlc!
The glowing pink mushroom does not show up in sundered grove if you use low graphic setting. I don't know which setting is responsible for this, but it makes it so I have to check every possible location which is annoying
I can't remember the name of the item because it's been a while since I played, but it turns all your health except 1 point into shields. This is super pwerful with the heretic, because your health is no longer drained
Dunno if anyone has said this but there is also one of those code things in the Abyssal Plains, the red level
omg i never thought to put a turret on the pressure plate!
I found the culturist before because did my game was glitched and it was casting the shadow but there was no chest in there
Idk if this is true or not but the blade that’s in the ground when going to face Mithrix I always think that the blade is Providence’s sword stating back to the first game
0:50 It's also a reference to a bible story about pigs possessed by demons being chased off a cliff
So, you know how hopoo are very aware of their modding community? There is a sword in on the moon that looks suspiciously like paladin's.
the demons and the crabs is incredibly annoying because hopoo was like "f*** hermit crabs in particular" when designing the artifact of dissonance. it also doesn't help that abyssal depths, one of the only two maps that they can spawn on has no edge
If you want a glitch you know if the starting character Commando if you roll and jump at the same time you can do a super jump LOL that's what I call it

I actually found a Cloaked Chest randomly during a Teleporter Event
I was fighting and then "Open Cloaked Chest" appeared on my screen :v
Great video. Actually had a lot of stuff i didnt know, and ive been playing RoR2 since it came out lol
Fun fact you can play_as HAN-D by using consoles. He is buggy but playable, even with hes own hammer swing animation.
I've only found one cloaked chest and until today I thought it was just a bug or something
You forgot the Mithrix arena stone cicles represent the Bipi-Circles of the scouts with the fire in the centre
this is a video i didnt know i needed
7:44 me and my friends also got teleported after surviving a bit which ended the game without killing us.
Thx for the artifacts!
Im late but free locker chests spawn if you have a key (white item) in your inventory. The more keys you have, the higher chances you have to get higher rarity item.
No longer the case. Now it's just a free uncommon chest.
@@corronchilejano yeah. I forgot. Now the key is consumed and you get green or red item.
2:23 And he was freakin' amazing!
They better bring my boy HAN-D back or I'm going to go ballistic.
11:00 and then the void DLC hits
the amount of drones at the start of the video
There are actually 7 set locations for the pressure plates on abandonned aqueduct
Homie you also forgot Captain's Beacons also press down on switches. Which I love because engineer is boring to play. So I was happy his beacons still worked for the plates.
I never knew the grove legendary chests have mushrooms surrounding it
One of the best youtubers is making a video about the best Rouge like game your the best dpad keep it up 👍
Frog meme got into the game. Noice. Now I'm hoping for lemdog.
Lemdogs for all.
so... to explain the frog...
Dude, I found a cloaked chest on my first run and then never again.
I found a cloaked chest once during a prismatic trial
I found two invisible chest right next to each other on monsoon
Idk if it’s actually true but I think the Bundle of Fireworks looks similar to the fireworks in Firewatch
4:26 i fount it once randomly
I dont know if its still a thing, but you can kill mithrix with 128 shaped glass
I found a cloaked chest today! I now feel better!
in my very first game I found a cloaked chest with old behemoth and both of my friends hadnt gotten one before and they togheter had 100+ hours lol ive since then found 4 more in my 230+ hours
How OP is the Gesture of the drowned?
10/10
