Really love seein that almost encyclopedic knowledge from Destin Kanaan n Zach collabin with Roberts on this hallowed grounds guys. Great vid and great historical flippin education. In a hundred years- crobably many more - therell still be skaters ( doin F knows what) and this isht will be biblical
Hey I want to share with you guys that on some of those shopping cart holders that you see at the grocery store parking lot can easily be made into a rail that you can skate very easily
This one spot contains almost everything that represents street skating, it's almost poetic. LA, perfect design, super illicit, total reimagining of original idea, very aesthetically pleasing, and now total decay and sadness. It's funny that this was a much better spot before you were allowed to be there. It's almost like skating thrives better that way. And finally the fact it was an actual courthouse is the cherry on top, you couldn't make this place up. It's super sad the city closed this place to save money.
It’s still open you can skate there whenever some homeless hang out there but it’s still a really nice and chill skate spot even now. They added a whole lot of new diy stuff like some curbs rails and ramps
@@RedonRedGutta923 As sick as that is, it's just a drop in the bucket compared to the list of incomprehensible tricks Nick Tucker has done to this spot
This is crazy. Paused halfway through because of Aaron Snyder. Checked him out on the gram and found some alternative angles he filmed of Steve Olson going off the roof to boardslide. The rabbit hole goes super deep with skateboarding! Love this series.
YES! I was hoping this was next, keep killing it with the Spot Histories boys! Zach Doelling is so incredibly talented, I hope he continues to have amazing things come his way.
Love the spot history series. Always entertaining for us skate nerds. I think that this episode would have been better as a multi part though like the parents' house parts. Would love to see some Barcelona spot history soon!!! Besos bumps (the skinny ones on the side walks) and the Besos Waves (bump over bar) would probably be at the top of my list. But you could obviously get 10's of spot history videos out of Barci. Fun excuse for a trip too!
Thanks! I briefly though of doing this as 2 videos but ultimately thought it should be together cause of how everything flows together, especially when people do lines on the ledges and stage in one run
I have been working on my senior project for landscape architecture designing more skate obstacles and surrounding programs for the West LA skate plaza. This video is going to be so helpful in order to finish the project! So much history and it's a gem that is worth preserving.
yeah he is, did you see his video titled something like "the chris cole challenge" where he does like 100 different flip tricks on a quarter pipe? i dont care who you are, if you can land treflips, varial heels, hardflips and inward heels in every stance, on a quarter, you are a pretty damn good skater
Chris Roberts, you are a legend and great host of the best core skater podcast ever. I’ll always remember seeing you skate in the Justice VHS tape that I first purchased in middle school. I brought that Holy Grail over to a sleep-over and never saw it again. Heart breaking!! Live long and prosper my man!
So happy you had the Reynolds’s back nose grind on the stage, that’s my favorite trick on the stage, the way the song was kickin and the way it was filmed, it’s just one of those tricks locked in my brain. ❤
I love Zach. I remember growing up watching him skate the independence skatepark in KC. We would all watch him, and we just knew that he was better than everyone else. And this was like 15 years ago lol
the vids just keep getting better. great stuff boys. Love it. i showed these vids to my wife so she understands why i set of stairs can be so important in skating haha.
The late 90’s/early 2000’s were awesome for skateboarding. It helped make my high school years sooooo much better. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I just missed my 20 yr high school reunion last year lol
Chris Joslin 2015 part switch flipped the roof/bush gap attached to the courthouse building next to the four stair where all the Eric Koston lines were done.
Another banger! One thing I'd love to see though is when you show the clips from the spots, if you could put the name of the skate video it's in as well. Not only to give credit to the filmers/companies who made the videos but for all the people watching who maybe doesn't know about all these amazing old videos yet and want to check them out!
I went there in 2003 the stage is so damn tall. It’s probably only an inch or two taller than the big manual pad at the park I grew up skating but I couldn’t do any manual tricks. Just nose slides and my friend 50/50’d it. Every real trick is insanely impressive if you go see it in person. Bob Cronbower showed up and hooked us up with some shirts.

Opened the floodgates with that NG Dog.
1:22 Squirrel trying to get a trick on the ledge. 9 club for sure 👌

Nothing like private property that gets destroyed. It’s a shame that they wouldn’t allow vandalism

You're a savage for that one.
Shout out to Chris for being in this video after the Nine Club episode!
Sorry for the reupload, had to fix a few things!
worth the rewatch. you guys have been absolutely killing it.
No need to apologize.
Awesome video!!!
Thanks for all the great work! Preserve the courthouse!
Epic video! So much info, so long and I still didn’t want it to end. 🤟
Nick Tucker owns that stage
Yeah, definitely not Chris Roberts the Virgin
Without a doubt
What about Kelly hearts fakie treflip to fakie manny

Switch flip switch manny on that thing now that someone made an in depth video is actually gnarly. Chris killed that thing dude. Well done boys
You guys really are doing gods work out here with these history videos! Thank you! Forever grateful for the history lesson!
Zach Doelling is just a machine.

Doeling is my favorite skater for sure. 👊
47:14 So cool yall got the man behind the scenes
Would you guys do a spot history abroad? I think that’d be a cool addition to this series. Keep it up 🔥🔥
Trust us, we really want to! But we don’t have the funds for those kind of trips yet! Hopefully soon!
With all the sick tricks Chris has done at the courthouse it’s amazing how he is able to stay so humble.
Thank you. This is the perfect father's day gift

Zach doelling is on another level of balance! insane skills!
Cool to see Zach in this, the guy absolutely shreds
Would love if you guys could travel and do The Wedge in Scottsdale, Az. Lots of tricks went down on the double set ledges/rails.
The Courthouse was also in Thrasher: Skate and Destroy on PS1. Sick game back then
That game was ridiculously difficult to control!!
Awesome history of famous W. LA Court house. Zach is amazing too. Thank you all for what you do for skateboarding ❤
Love what you guys are doing for the skate community. All that editing and research is a lot of work. Respect

Always loved the Creager line where it starts by Bs Flipping outta the Top Fountain! 🤘👽👽👽
What a Great Episode! Awesome Job Guys !!!
Chris Cole I believe also ollie'd up the other side of the stage. It was in his Digital 4 part.
I love how Zach's style is so aggressive while being refined at the same time.
A Spot History on Embarcadero Plaza would be dope. Such an iconic spot with so much tricks to talk about
@40:48 that Switch frontside flip up, backside flip down. My favorite trick on the stage.
Epic Spot History episode! Im happy you guys got to do this spot before its gone!
I'm almost 40 and that stage has been famous since I started skating as a kid. The whole spot really. Awesome spot!
Well good thing it's back again! 😂
I saw this live and loved every second...
