I would click "Like" twice if I could. This is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. I'm watching a lot of guitar builds lately to prepare to make my first guitar, and I've learned quite a bit from this video. Thanks for sharing this with the world!
In the past I've run into an issue where the black finish on the bridge/tailpiece didn't make a very good ground connection. The black coated stop bar and studs I was working with required I remove the finish where the ground wire contacted the stud, the stop bar to stud contact area and then the string through holes. Once I removed just enough of the black finish the hum went down and the output seemed to stabilize (the output was reduced due to the poor grounding of the strings). I understand not all black plating, anodized or painted finishes are equal, I just mentioned this because it took me a bit of effort to track down the problem. Nice work Sir.
Hey - you're back! Wondered where you had been as I hadn't seen anything for a while. I'm not sure if I like this one better or the Chimera. I love the sandwich construction on this one - the stained maple strip in the middle looks great and matches the design of the laminations in the neck-through. And I love the way you do the 12th fret inlay - the addition of a different coloured dust is a very nice evolution on that idea of using the small rocks. Congrats on the webstore too - Best of luck with selling your guitars.
One more thing if you don't mind me adding about the bridge pickup sounds quite you can change the wiring mods and find the sweet spots which you like again well done great job.👍
😊The ground wire should have been striped more, so that its entire contact length is actually in contact with housing, not partially. As it was done the insulation being thicker than the wire precludes effective metal to metal contact even with the high compressive forces of the screws. The craftmanship and the sound are superb
One question, how does filing down the top of the nut change how high the strings are off of the frets? I would assume the problem with cutting the string slots in the nut too deep is related to the strings being too close to the frets at that end of the neck, making adjustments to relief much less effective, and raising the action at the bridge would be of negligible help at best, correct?
The complaint I was addressing was that the nut was too tall which would cause the strings to bind in it and hurt tuning stability, not that the strings were too close to the fretboard.
Awesome build. I see what you meant with the pickup being a bit dodgy. I have a somewhat similar issue after an upgrade, I'm assuming the wiring was done right so it could be an issue with a coil in the pickup
So what is the body shape that you used? just something you designed? That looks so cool. I just started a neck thru last night and would like to have it look something like this.
awesome guitar! I cant tell if it's just the way your rigs setup but it sounds really dark. Still a lot of articulation though, so not muddy. I'm guessing those are 500k pots in there. maybe try 1 megs?

It’d be cool if you sold these but I’m sure there VERY hard to make so it might not be worth it but I’m sure you could sell it for a hefty price there beautiful
Its a VERY gorgeous guitar. I LOVE the body style and the headstock matches the rest of it (which I've found many other luthiers don't do well). My only 2 personal preferences: 1. I agree with you, the original colors of the lighter woods looked awesome. 2. With multi-wood guitars, I wish more folks would have a "dry" (Dry rub?) or natural wood look instead of the gloss. A more matte finish or whatever compound that would retain the original wood look and feel. But these wood grains also look great with the matte black hardware. All personal preferences of course. - Beautiful guitar nevertheless.

Nice work Sir.
Absolutely beautiful guitar nice work well-done breathtaking guitar
Gorgeous guitar. My favorite I've seen built so far.
What a piece of art. I’d love to someday own one. The bog oak is a dream due to its history and density.
So cool. Love the wood choices. The chechen fretboard looked so nice. I'd love to become a luthier. I burned out in the office.
Great to see a young guy with old school skills. Brilliant work. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🇬🇧👍
Seriously cool bass. Seriously dangerous equipment.
I'm a half hour into the video and I gotta say that guitar is looking dam good!! Can't wait to see the final product.🔨🪚📐

Amazing craftsmanship work looking stunning and sounds great, thank you for sharing your skills on RUclips, keep the great job well done.👍🤘
Nice job!
excellent travail du bois , elle a un son bien a elle , cool ...
It occurs to me that West Australian Jarrah might make a great fretboard. Pretty hard stuff. John Warner, Australia
Beautiful guitar. The headstock looks very similar to the headstock on my Toby by Tobias bass.
That is really beautiful! Good job on this ax. It's fun to watch the process. Best wishes!
Hi, i enjoy really with your work, congratulation from Spain.

This one is probably my favorite that ive seen you do. My previous favorite was the clamera ( excuse my spelling)
Nice axe
Love watching your videos,,, they are beautiful guitars. Thank you so much
Awesome guitar! But I'd sand it down, maybe get the stain out... (don't know if that's possible) and do a nice shellac french polishing finish
I love your working bro
Beautiful instrument
I've been watching you for quite a while. You make fantastic guitars
EPIC !!
super cool man, i love bog oak

Takes so much works and times to make a guitar.

excellent and informative video. thank you!. beautiful and functional work of art!
Bad arse guitars .I'll never ebe able to own one .Keep building

Opeth - Coil on clean i think :)
Really nice work. I like your stile.
But i have to say the wings really reminded me of Ferreror Milchschnitte :-D

They are the 25k pots that come packed with the Fishman Fluence pickups
@@OrbitalGuitars 25 or 250? I still recommend higher k ohms for more high end and harmonics
@@oliverlangrall2014 25k, because these are not passive pickups www.fishman.com/FAQ/what-parts-come-with-fluence-pickups/

Beautiful guitar 🤌 what kind of soldering iron was that by the way?

I love craftmanship and love guitars.
Then you started playing Opeth...
bonito trabajo
Very tidy work !
What go's into something like this trade, how long do's it take to learn this craft? where do you learn it? and is it a expensive course take?

Awesome vid, thanks! How do you know how deep to saw the fret slots?
I put a piece of tape on the side of the saw so that when the tape touches the top of the fretboard I know the cut is the right depth.
@@OrbitalGuitars Thank you.
oh that's viscious
Do you have instructions for the jar speaker?
try use some steel wool on the frets :D

amazing guitar man! were you influenced by Dark Souls? i mean the flamelurker and the Wyvern! i love that game
Great job! It looks like my dreamed guitar. I wonder, how much You have to pay for such a wonderfull guitar.
Great job, very beautiful guitar. How long do you wait between coats of the wipe-on poly?
Was looking incredible, until that red stain went on. Really liked your solid neck/body design and how you laminated the wood.
I love the red stain. The finish on the rest of the body was meh imo. I would have rather had it non-porous, or smoothcoated.
No shielding in the control cavity?
There's shielding paint in the control cavity
@@OrbitalGuitars Ah used to seeing copper shielding
What camera do you use to record your videos?
In my opinion looked really weel until the stain.

People and there comments 🙄🙄🙄
FAR too many guitar-build videos with annoying music and even more annoying commentary. Ugh.
You may be surprised to learn that the video player on this website has a mute button that makes the music and commentary go away. You're welcome!
Worst looking electric guitar I have ever seen. The staining makes it look too dark. It would’ve look better if you changed the colours of it.
