Lenny and Sean’s death hit hard because it’s so sudden and in the moment that you can’t even have time to properly mourn them. They’re respective cutscenes aren’t even that dramatic. You don’t see the gunman lining their aim at Sean’s head, and Lenny doesn’t get so much as a cutscene
Personal head canon is that Charles and sadie both get hunted down and killed by the government and that Jack the single sole survivor of the van der linde gang
I have a theory that after John died, Jack ran away from Beecher’s Hope and sought out Sadie Adler to teach him how to use a gun. She reluctantly did and upon returning home, Jack found his mother died in her sleep. He buried her and with nothing left for him, he took his revenge on Edgar Ross.
As much as i’d like to believe that, I highly doubt the writers came up with Sadie all those years ago before even thinking of planning RDR2. I’d consider it more of a head canon than a theory
I like to think Jack trained with Sadie for a few years After Ross s death Charles helped him avoid following the path of self destruction with spiritual guidance In 1918 he sells Beechers heads west to California becoming a writer as evident by the GTA5 easter egg
I feel that if the writers didn’t have Red Dead 1 to strictly follow as best as possible for continuity, then there probably would have been a better chance Arthur could make it. But knowing John’s fate, Arthur wouldn’t live til’ old age no matter how good a person til’ the end he would be
