Just got home from from my 18 yr old Daughters Graduation and sat down to see Shawn and Tu my 2 favorite people on the internet no shit! The night couldn’t get any better! Thank you both. I benefit so much from tuning in to this Channel can’t thank you enough Shawn.
As a Hmong American, Tu's story about escaping Vietnam hits a soft spot and gets me teary eyed. Although I didn't experience it myself. My parents, grandparents and people did. The experiences told by Tu and by my elders are identical. I am eternally grateful for their sacrifices. Giving me the opportunity to live a life of freedom! I am proud to be American! 🇺🇲

Heartbreaking the shit he (and a lot of other refugees) had to endure as an immigrant refugee, especially as a young child. A coworker was in the same position, but he was older when he arrived. He had a slightly different perspective because he came here as an 18 year old. He said “I spent 3 years dodging bullets, artillery, and another 2 in a refugee camp in Thailand. I’m in America now, I’m not going to let the words of some ignorant bigot ruin my day”

Very sad but true. I feel the same way of being far more patriotic than majority of Murican born citizens. My family also escaped by boat in ‘79 to Hong Kong a refugee camp. Being dirt poor and understanding the true meaning of “survival” let’s you genuinely appreciate what you have and don’t have. The US gave my family food shelter clothing and the opportunity for a better life, despite the oppression and obstacles thru our journey. Having the highest level of appreciation and loyalty I’ve developed since ‘79 for this great nation…which is why it’s so so damn disappointing today to see the millions of entitled brainwashed soft Muricans that have turned on their own country and countrymen, from the division that is by design via the powers that be. Long gone have the days of “pledge allegiance to the flag” of what I use to proudly recite daily in grade school. Thank you, my fellow American 🇺🇸 for your understanding

She was basically on survival instincts. If you grew up during wartime that's all you got....can't afford the luxury of making basic choices. You have to push forward to just to survive

I've been 'stuck" in bed with the shades pulled in Southern Colorado for nearly a year. A devastating accident broke neck and low back a few years ago. At that time i was half way through building my off grid cabin, alone. I was rebuilding my life and so proud of what i was accomplishing. Then suddenly, life had me back in the dirt and if not for my dog, i would've died. But I've lost my purpose now. And am not able to finish my cabin so I'm in a whole 'nother agony over deciding that i should probably just sell my acres and cabin. I will be looking Tu up on the interwebs after watching this. I need help out of bed so i can at least go visit the mountains and hear a bird sing or something. Thank you for making these shows, you are helping MORE than the veteran community ❤️ . Mad respect to each of you who have served!!
Set small goals and push through. I don't know your entire situation but stay positive and never give up ... I try and live by this " I fail daily, but i will succeed tomorrow" Good luck my friend!!! Stay strong

And by majority, the term "American" was defaulted to the white americans because they are the majority in the Unites States You're idea of everyone is American if they are a United State citizen is optimistic but is not the reality - just ask a black american. With that said, Tu Lam can identify him as Asian american or American and we all can node in agreement without judgement :P
My dad fought two tours in Vietnam. He was born so poor, with 15 siblings, in such a rough and dangerous area, that he actually signed up to go at 17. He has also been a corrections officer, a cop, a private investigator and a lawyer. He was a criminal as a teenager, has a knife scar from a juvenile detention fight, and has pretty much experienced everything there is to experience in one lifetime. My dad doesn’t mince words. He said, he has a deep respect for the Vietnamese people, including the North Vietnamese soldiers and insurgents he fought against. He said, even the teenage soldiers they encountered, had a toughness and resolve that was so deep, it deserved respect. Without stereotyping too much, it sounds like he’s correct in the case of Vietnamese Americans like Lam and his family. The fact that Tu, as a first generation American, who suffered through terrible circumstances as a child and refugee, had the love of the US and the guts to become a Green Beret and fight for our ideals, speaks to just how amazing he is. God Bless him and his family.
You know we've been conditioned to think stereotypes are a bad thing or wrong. But there's a reason they exist. There's a reason people think East Africans can run for days. A reason people think East Asians are very intelligent. A reason people think the Italians make good food. A reason people think West Africans have that extra explosive muscle fibre.
@Maverick Buckley…. Yep, they exist because they’re real. People of West African holds almost all of the fastest 100m times in history, East Africans are incredible distance runners. These are due to genetic advantages and those are good things, not to be ashamed of. Asians (in general) are “smart”, but this one isn’t because they’re inherently smarter (although that could play a part ) , but bc families stress the importance of an education and generally eschew the softer, dumber social sciences, gender studies and demand that their kids learn math, science, engineering etc You’ll be good at what you value. We will see more blacks succeed in school not when we throw more money into education, that’s failed again and again, but when black FAMILIES emphasize the importance of a good education. Blacks are not inherently any less intelligent. You become good at what you value

Life is short, comfort is a slow death. So few are willing to step into the pain and discomfort of life, they stay stagnant or revert to a lower mental state. This man has unlocked many key facets of the mind. Very incredible story.

Amazing stuff and as an immigrant myself from a former communist country I can relate to Tu where he went to the store with his mother and saw the abundance of food. Thank you Shawn.
Hard to watch other interviews after watching Shawn's....he lets the guest talk....a rare thing with most hosts. Just enough dialog to keep it moving but never 'stepping' on the guest. Great job! Congrats on the baby.
I had goosebumps when he told the story about escaping Vietnam and how they took the boat. He described it almost exactly how my mom and dad described it to me when they left Vietnam. It's Insane how much appreciation my mom and dad have to the USA and the freedom they felt when they got here
I've heard the same stories from my in-laws, although, I have to pull the info out of them because they feel it is an imposition to burden me. Far from it. I've learned so much about Vietnamese culture and real world accounts of based on their experience. In 2017 we all went to Vietnam together. Food was awesome and people were very gracious. My FIL is 67yrs old 5'8" 130lbs and my MIL maybe not even 5ft and under 100lbs. In my mind they are 10ft tall plus they both still run circles around me and my wife who are in our 40s. I was born in Canada and grew up here most of my life. I can tell you for a fact the education system in Canada is 2 year ahead of American. I learned the metric system and standard system in the 2nd grade in Canada. My son is in 7th grade and they are just now learning metric. I sort of think a dumb divided populate is easier to manipulate and control. Something mẹ Lam told her son. đoàn kết chúng ta đứng
Compared to the younger generation of Americans who have been brought up to expect everything given to them, be rewarded simply for showing up, and believe they have the right to "not be offended" by anything or anyone. It's hard to appreciate things when you haven't been without, or haven't had to earn it through hard work and dedication.
@TWM……You leaned the Zmetric system far earlier than Americans? Well, the ALBANIAN education system must make Canadians look like kids with Down’s Syndrome. You are in your 40s and haven’t learned to speak Albanian yet! Sounds silly, right? Why would the American system be in a hurry to teach kids a system we DON’T USE significantly. I won’t argue that perhaps we should switch to the metric system or not, but here in the US, we use the imperial system,. The US education system may well suck and judging from what I’m setting of the youth of America, but what do you have to compare it to? You went through the Canadian system DECADES ago, so what Canadian kids are learning is likely quite different from what you did. Times change. I wish that we put an emphasis on the building blocks of education- math, the English language- both written & spoken, vocabulary, spelling and grammar, the scientific method, mathematics, physical science, chemistry, biology, geography, history. If these things are being emphasized, we’re really doomed because people can’t spell, construct a sentence, do basic addition and subtraction without a calculator, know when WW2 was fought or who was fighting. It us scary. Kids are taught that they’re special- they are NOT. They are taught that gender is a social construct- it is not. They write like they’re texting their idiot friends and think there’s nothing wrong with that. Spell check and autocorrect are the worst. It should only be used AFTER writing, to check for potential errors. End rant. 🙂

I’m 22 struggled with depression and a lot of mental health issues since I was 12 I’m at the lowest of lows of my life right now but this video helped a lot more than I imagined. Every day is a battle, but a battle worth fighting.

@@GRIFFIN1k I also feel hopeless but recently I started to force myself into a better habit of trying something new something meaningful to put me into a new place in my life that could give me some sort of hope and something to look forward to so I recommend finding a new hobby and maybe if you feel passionate enough for it you can turn it into a career in the end

Man, I love this guy. I grew up with Vietnamese refugees that escaped by the skin of their teeth. The Dad (of like 12 kids) was a Captain in the South Vietnamese Army. He would have been killed by the NVA if he had stayed. We were NOT racist in our little town. I helped teach all the kids English. Believe it or not, they read the Bible to learn English because it was the only book they had at first. Anyone who has ever read the Bible knows that there are some freaking hard words in there that I'm not even sure that I was pronouncing correctly. lol Anyway, I practically lived at their house during the day and had many sleepovers over the years. I LOVE authentic Vietnamese food! It's so good! Those kids were my best friends growing up and we stay in touch to this day. I really wish that Tu Lam had a better experience here in America as a youth. It breaks my heart to here of how he was treated. He is a good man, and a patriot. I pray for his continued growth and success.🙏💙 Thank you Shawn, for having him on. His story is an inspiration to me and has given me some ideas on what I can do to better myself. 👏

Definitely agree. He deserves the recognition. It also highlights how the people who send Americans to war don't care about them once they return. Its shockingly disgusting so i appreciate people like Shawn, with or without a platform talking or helping Vets.
I don’t know if anyone else realizes this, but this channel and these stories are important. Thinking along the lines of WW2 Veterans passing away old age, and health concerns, someday our generation of Warfighters will come to pass as well. In this way our stories can get passed on and remain for follow on generations. Keep the episodes coming!

TU LAM! Today is Tuesday,January 31,2023. I'm 39 years old. I'm a Caucasian American with German (mostly) heritage. Why is that important? Because hearing your story is one of the most profound moments of my adult life and not too many things,if any,have resonated with me more (in terms of another person's quest). I was medivac half way thru my second tour in Vietnam. That was 1971 . I watched on TV 4 yrs later as we deserted those very people and have felt the guilt of us doing that all my life . Really good show . Thanx
Don't feel guilty Brother. You did your time and did a great job at it. My folks fought during the Secret War in Laos as part of the SGU. Unfortunately they also suffered the same way as Tu and his family. They got here as Refugee's for supporting the USA and we have no regrets. I am a Proud American Citizen! Proudly Served within the U.S Military! College Graduate! Currently saving lives for a living! Also LIVING the American Dream! The Refugee's from that War are doing very well Brother! Thanks! This is one of the best episodes by far. So much in common between you guys even being from different beginnings of life you both end up sitting together having this incredible conversation. Tu has so much insight on vastly different topics it’s amazing. I think Shawn has learned a lot of the same lessons as Tu just in different ways which makes you guys so unique but also cut from the same cloth. Keep it up Shawn! I’m grateful for coming across this interview. When we find people the leave a lasting impression in our life, priceless. This interview changed my life today. I will be a better person tomorrow for it. And for that I’m extremely grateful.
My family was also in Saigon during this time, my father was a POW ( possibly the torture camps Tu was talking about) and once he was released on 87ish. My mother,father, brother, and sister escaped to the Philippines and was able to get a visa into the USA. I was born 1990. This story sounds an awful lot like the stories my mother has told me.
My wife's family escaped Vietnam in 1979 and ended up in a Malaysian refugee camp. They are the best people I know and it's because of them I have such a wonderful and caring wife and a great mother to our kids. I have great respect and I am grateful for them. I ask a lot of questions about their journey and realize I have nothing to complain about. I've never heard they play the victim over anything. Americans should be grateful for those who die protecting their freedoms, but we just fight like crabs in a barrel over masks, vaccines, gender, race etc... Those who served and continue to serve should expect more from civilians. If we were really grateful for their ultimate sacrifice, we show it instead "God bless" and "prayers" etc... BTW, my has a huge extended family and they some of the best America has to offer. If you ask them "can you make it in the USA with hard work and education?" They will say "absolutely!" Most other I ask that question to say the opposite and disparage the very country they live in. You are free to leave.
Such a powerful story. I'm second generation vietnamese american, and my parents/grandparents shared a lot of their stories of escaping from the vietnam war, too. It was a hard time for all of them, but they survived, endured, made it to America, and worked hard to make a living. Without them, I wouldn't be here and be able to live in the best country in the world. Proud to be an American. This is my home.

Shawn, we were in Iraq during the same years. I was an Abrams gunner, so I wasn’t an operator like yourself, but this podcast is life changing for me. I can 100% relate to the depression you two are talking about, staying in bed all day, not leaving the house, even the opiate addiction. God bless you both.....

I've got friends with PTSD one specifically fought in the first and second battle of Fallujah. I could tell he had demons but he has overcome it (at least mostly to my knowledge by the way he acts now). Met him shortly after he got out. It's all about getting back out there and surrounding yourself with good friends who can help by giving you a close circle of people you can count on. Plus - finding ways to help other people. I feel like i was a part of his healing because he is 5 years older than me and it is sort of a big bro and little bro type of relationship. He helped me become a man and pulled me out of the immature world and mindset. We sort of helped each other. Seeking people that you can help and making it your purpose to help people with the knowledge and appreciation for life that you've gained through the experience you gained over seas and hardships that 99.9% of people never experience has given you the gift of being able to teach others who haven't had your experiences to appreciate life and move on from the little things that they think are such big problems but aren't. I grew up watching my mother slowly die from brain cancer until she lost her ability to walk and talk. Watched her slip into seizures and choke on her own tongue. Despite having a lot of deamons from that experience and being angry for years and slipping into a self pity sort of mindset (that ruined years of my life because i avoided people/relationships and made me drink a lot) i've finally said "fuck that i'm tired of being depressed i'm going to get past this" and learned to be happy and appreciate life and i know i owe it to my mother who can't be here to out all my effort into forcing my mind out of that cancer-like mindset. Which took a lot of effort on my part (trying to find stuff to sort of keep my mind busy vis finding things to focus on AKA hobbies and just listening to music that's positive rather than all the heavy metal i used to that just kept me angry and in a mental state of rage). But after forcing yourself out of that negative loop you break out of that and learn to be that guy you used to be and love life. I try my best to make other people happy and be the person in the room who spreads good vibes and gets people who are having a bad day out of it and making them laugh and loosen up. Via doing that even when i myself am actually having a bad day - i get a lot of pleasure and it really makes me happy to see that transformation in people who weren't happy but are happy now because i made their day better and broke them out of that "bad day" mindset it in turn makes me happy and makes my day better. Just a fee tips on the things that have helped me deal with my deamons/hardships i'm not saying it will work for you - but i have found that helping others and making it your duty to do so really does help a lot of people break out of their own struggles. 🤙

Heartbreaking the shit he (and a lot of other refugees) had to endure as an immigrant refugee, especially as a young child. A coworker was in the same position, but he was older when he arrived. He had a slightly different perspective because he came here as an 18 year old. He said “I spent 3 years dodging bullets, artillery, and another 2 in a refugee camp in Thailand. I’m in America now, I’m not going to let the words of some ignorant bigot ruin my day”

Very sad but true. I feel the same way of being far more patriotic than majority of Murican born citizens.
My family also escaped by boat in ‘79 to Hong Kong a refugee camp.
Being dirt poor and understanding the true meaning of “survival” let’s you genuinely appreciate what you have and don’t have.
The US gave my family food shelter clothing and the opportunity for a better life, despite the oppression and obstacles thru our journey.
Having the highest level of appreciation and loyalty I’ve developed since ‘79 for this great nation…which is why it’s so so damn disappointing today to see the millions of entitled brainwashed soft Muricans that have turned on their own country and countrymen, from the division that is by design via the powers that be.
Long gone have the days of “pledge allegiance to the flag” of what I use to proudly recite daily in grade school.

I've been 'stuck" in bed with the shades pulled in Southern Colorado for nearly a year. A devastating accident broke neck and low back a few years ago. At that time i was half way through building my off grid cabin, alone. I was rebuilding my life and so proud of what i was accomplishing. Then suddenly, life had me back in the dirt and if not for my dog, i would've died. But I've lost my purpose now. And am not able to finish my cabin so I'm in a whole 'nother agony over deciding that i should probably just sell my acres and cabin. I will be looking Tu up on the interwebs after watching this. I need help out of bed so i can at least go visit the mountains and hear a bird sing or something. Thank you for making these shows, you are helping MORE than the veteran community ❤️ . Mad respect to each of you who have served!!

My dad fought two tours in Vietnam. He was born so poor, with 15 siblings, in such a rough and dangerous area, that he actually signed up to go at 17. He has also been a corrections officer, a cop, a private investigator and a lawyer. He was a criminal as a teenager, has a knife scar from a juvenile detention fight, and has pretty much experienced everything there is to experience in one lifetime.
My dad doesn’t mince words. He said, he has a deep respect for the Vietnamese people, including the North Vietnamese soldiers and insurgents he fought against. He said, even the teenage soldiers they encountered, had a toughness and resolve that was so deep, it deserved respect. Without stereotyping too much, it sounds like he’s correct in the case of Vietnamese Americans like Lam and his family.
The fact that Tu, as a first generation American, who suffered through terrible circumstances as a child and refugee, had the love of the US and the guts to become a Green Beret and fight for our ideals, speaks to just how amazing he is. God Bless him and his family.
You know we've been conditioned to think stereotypes are a bad thing or wrong. But there's a reason they exist. There's a reason people think East Africans can run for days. A reason people think East Asians are very intelligent. A reason people think the Italians make good food. A reason people think West Africans have that extra explosive muscle fibre.

@Maverick Buckley…. Yep, they exist because they’re real. People of West African holds almost all of the fastest 100m times in history, East Africans are incredible distance runners. These are due to genetic advantages and those are good things, not to be ashamed of.
Asians (in general) are “smart”, but this one isn’t because they’re inherently smarter (although that could play a part ) , but bc families stress the importance of an education and generally eschew the softer, dumber social sciences, gender studies and demand that their kids learn math, science, engineering etc

I had goosebumps when he told the story about escaping Vietnam and how they took the boat. He described it almost exactly how my mom and dad described it to me when they left Vietnam. It's Insane how much appreciation my mom and dad have to the USA and the freedom they felt when they got here
I've heard the same stories from my in-laws, although, I have to pull the info out of them because they feel it is an imposition to burden me. Far from it. I've learned so much about Vietnamese culture and real world accounts of based on their experience. In 2017 we all went to Vietnam together. Food was awesome and people were very gracious. My FIL is 67yrs old 5'8" 130lbs and my MIL maybe not even 5ft and under 100lbs. In my mind they are 10ft tall plus they both still run circles around me and my wife who are in our 40s. I was born in Canada and grew up here most of my life. I can tell you for a fact the education system in Canada is 2 year ahead of American. I learned the metric system and standard system in the 2nd grade in Canada. My son is in 7th grade and they are just now learning metric. I sort of think a dumb divided populate is easier to manipulate and control. Something mẹ Lam told her son. đoàn kết chúng ta đứng
Compared to the younger generation of Americans who have been brought up to expect everything given to them, be rewarded simply for showing up, and believe they have the right to "not be offended" by anything or anyone. It's hard to appreciate things when you haven't been without, or haven't had to earn it through hard work and dedication.

Sounds silly, right? Why would the American system be in a hurry to teach kids a system we DON’T USE significantly. I won’t argue that perhaps we should switch to the metric system or not, but here in the US, we use the imperial system,.
The US education system may well suck and judging from what I’m setting of the youth of America, but what do you have to compare it to? You went through the Canadian system DECADES ago, so what Canadian kids are learning is likely quite different from what you did. Times change.
I wish that we put an emphasis on the building blocks of education- math, the English language- both written & spoken, vocabulary, spelling and grammar, the scientific method, mathematics, physical science, chemistry, biology, geography, history. If these things are being emphasized, we’re really doomed because people can’t spell, construct a sentence, do basic addition and subtraction without a calculator, know when WW2 was fought or who was fighting. It us scary.
Kids are taught that they’re special- they are NOT. They are taught that gender is a social construct- it is not. They write like they’re texting their idiot friends and think there’s nothing wrong with that.
Spell check and autocorrect are the worst. It should only be used AFTER writing, to check for potential errors.

Man, I love this guy. I grew up with Vietnamese refugees that escaped by the skin of their teeth. The Dad (of like 12 kids) was a Captain in the South Vietnamese Army. He would have been killed by the NVA if he had stayed. We were NOT racist in our little town. I helped teach all the kids English. Believe it or not, they read the Bible to learn English because it was the only book they had at first. Anyone who has ever read the Bible knows that there are some freaking hard words in there that I'm not even sure that I was pronouncing correctly. lol
Anyway, I practically lived at their house during the day and had many sleepovers over the years. I LOVE authentic Vietnamese food! It's so good! Those kids were my best friends growing up and we stay in touch to this day. I really wish that Tu Lam had a better experience here in America as a youth. It breaks my heart to here of how he was treated. He is a good man, and a patriot. I pray for his continued growth and success.🙏💙

Thinking along the lines of WW2 Veterans passing away old age, and health concerns, someday our generation of Warfighters will come to pass as well. His escape from Vietnam as a boat refugee, his childhood hardships, his incredible military career, and finally the insightful comments of his experiences after military retirement and his search for contentment. TU LAM! Today is Tuesday,January 31,2023. I'm 39 years old. I'm a Caucasian American with German (mostly) heritage. Why is that important? Because hearing your story is one of the most profound moments of my adult life and not too many things,if any,have resonated with me more (in terms of another person's quest). Thank you, and you,Shawn, for your selfless service of our country. I was medivac half way thru my second tour in Vietnam. That was 1971 . I watched on TV 4 yrs later as we deserted those very people and have felt the guilt of us doing that all my life . Really good show . Thanx
Don't feel guilty Brother. You did your time and did a great job at it. My folks fought during the Secret War in Laos as part of the SGU. Unfortunately they also suffered the same way as Tu and his family. They got here as Refugee's for supporting the USA and we have no regrets. I am a Proud American Citizen! Proudly Served within the U.S Military! College Graduate! Currently saving lives for a living! Also LIVING the American Dream! The Refugee's from that War are doing very well Brother! Thanks! This is one of the best episodes by far. So much in common between you guys even being from different beginnings of life you both end up sitting together having this incredible conversation. Tu has so much insight on vastly different topics it’s amazing. I think Shawn has learned a lot of the same lessons as Tu just in different ways which makes you guys so unique but also cut from the same cloth. Keep it up Shawn! I’m grateful for coming across this interview. When we find people the leave a lasting impression in our life, priceless. This interview changed my life today. I will be a better person tomorrow for it. And for that I’m extremely grateful.
My family was also in Saigon during this time, my father was a POW ( possibly the torture camps Tu was talking about) and once he was released on 87ish. My mother,father, brother, and sister escaped to the Philippines and was able to get a visa into the USA. I was born 1990. This story sounds an awful lot like the stories my mother has told me.

My wife's family escaped Vietnam in 1979 and ended up in a Malaysian refugee camp. They are the best people I know and it's because of them I have such a wonderful and caring wife and a great mother to our kids. I have great respect and I am grateful for them. I ask a lot of questions about their journey and realize I have nothing to complain about. I've never heard they play the victim over anything. Americans should be grateful for those who die protecting their freedoms, but we just fight like crabs in a barrel over masks, vaccines, gender, race etc... Those who served and continue to serve should expect more from civilians. If we were really grateful for their ultimate sacrifice, we show it instead "God bless" and "prayers" etc... BTW, my has a huge extended family and they some of the best America has to offer. If you ask them "can you make it in the USA with hard work and education?" They will say "absolutely!" Most other I ask that question to say the opposite and disparage the very country they live in. You are free to leave.
Such a powerful story. I'm second generation vietnamese american, and my parents/grandparents shared a lot of their stories of escaping from the vietnam war, too. It was a hard time for all of them, but they survived, endured, made it to America, and worked hard to make a living. Without them, I wouldn't be here and be able to live in the best country in the world. Proud to be an American. This is my home.

Shawn, we were in Iraq during the same years. I was an Abrams gunner, so I wasn’t an operator like yourself, but this podcast is life changing for me. I can 100% relate to the depression you two are talking about, staying in bed all day, not leaving the house, even the opiate addiction. God bless you both.....

I've got friends with PTSD one specifically fought in the first and second battle of Fallujah. I could tell he had demons but he has overcome it (at least mostly to my knowledge by the way he acts now). Met him shortly after he got out. It's all about getting back out there and surrounding yourself with good friends who can help by giving you a close circle of people you can count on. Plus - finding ways to help other people. I feel like i was a part of his healing because he is 5 years older than me and it is sort of a big bro and little bro type of relationship. He helped me become a man and pulled me out of the immature world and mindset. We sort of helped each other. Seeking people that you can help and making it your purpose to help people with the knowledge and appreciation for life that you've gained through the experience you gained over seas and hardships that 99.9% of people never experience has given you the gift of being able to teach others who haven't had your experiences to appreciate life and move on from the little things that they think are such big problems but aren't. I grew up watching my mother slowly die from brain cancer until she lost her ability to walk and talk. Watched her slip into seizures and choke on her own tongue. Despite having a lot of deamons from that experience and being angry for years and slipping into a self pity sort of mindset (that ruined years of my life because i avoided people/relationships and made me drink a lot) i've finally said "fuck that i'm tired of being depressed i'm going to get past this" and learned to be happy and appreciate life and i know i owe it to my mother who can't be here to out all my effort into forcing my mind out of that cancer-like mindset. Which took a lot of effort on my part (trying to find stuff to sort of keep my mind busy vis finding things to focus on AKA hobbies and just listening to music that's positive rather than all the heavy metal i used to that just kept me angry and in a mental state of rage). But after forcing yourself out of that negative loop you break out of that and learn to be that guy you used to be and love life. I try my best to make other people happy and be the person in the room who spreads good vibes and gets people who are having a bad day out of it and making them laugh and loosen up. Via doing that even when i myself am actually having a bad day - i get a lot of pleasure and it really makes me happy to see that transformation in people who weren't happy but are happy now because i made their day better and broke them out of that "bad day" mindset it in turn makes me happy and makes my day better. Just a fee tips on the things that have helped me deal with my deamons/hardships i'm not saying it will work for you - but i have found that helping others and making it your duty to do so really does help a lot of people break out of their own struggles. 🤙
