Fixed the Turn Signal issue. Take apart the Front / Rear Light Assembly and simply put a small piece of electrical tape over the particular LED that flashes "yellow". Press firmly to set the tape over the LED...also add a small dab of glue to set it all in place. Reassemble and you're set. Any function that flashes "yellow" is now black.
They ruined this one I think by not making it an actual 1/12 scale, repurposing the Willys MB running gear, axles and wheels/tires and cheaping out on the interior. The 1/12 Willys MB, Kommadeurwagen Beetle, Kubelwagen, Jimny (the Jimny is super scale) are all exquisite with the unique details but this one gets re-used parts.
Wow it's detail really is amazing and accurate I had one of these a 73model with timber tray you did actually sit on the fuel tank inside the cab it's hard to put into words how tough reliable and capable they are that's where they got the term bullet proof 👊
Hallo Tomley I always love your videos and the people that complain about you test cheap Chinese cars. Maybe can open their eyes , you test all sorts cars and not everyone can afford 800 for one car . And I love that you test all sort of cars. Keep up your super good work.
This is another great video and a beautiful scale truck. The detail is amazing. I am part of the Baby Boom generation. I remember receiving toy cars at Christmas with doors , hoods and trunk lids that opened. No one talked about scale back then. As you said, this not cheap stuff from China. It's a quality product. Thanks for sharing.
Very realistic looking truck. Looks like FMS is going to challenge Tamiya in the scale department. Im loving it already on the looks alone. Thanks for your superb review. Keep them coming.
What a superb looking little rig phil, love the detail on the body definitely a good platform for modifications/scale accessories. As always thanks for another awesome video👍🏻
That is a really nice truck. Very tempting. I don't know why people would be dismissive of these things, and this part of the market in general. There have been some real gems recently.
Beautiful little truck, Phil! 😃 The only thing I didn't like was the suspension... Exactly because of the crawling capabilities. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Such a choice rig. Cant wait to see the aftermarket parts, ive got a 3d model i made of one of these not long ago with a sick bed cage, would love to give it to someone that can convert it to 3d printable bed for people
Hola Amigo muy buenos dias como estas , este tipo de vehiculo replica son fantasticos , es un clasico de toyota , muchas gracias Mr y feliz dia saludos desde Panama
It also measures out to 1/14 scale and not 1/12. They can't get anything consistent but they should have designed some scale FJ45 steel rims and new tires
I'm seriously considering a fms crawler. Your reviews have helped with that. I'm also some what of a fan of wpl too. I like both manufacturers because they are good enough value for money to modify too. Good work.
It is re-suing the 1/12 Rochobby Willys MB axles, leaf springs, wheels and tires. Once you see it you cannot unsee it. It's not even 1/12 scale, it is 1/14
I simply don't understand why the trolls keep whining about Phil testing "cheap Chinese crap". If I were in the market for a realistic 1:12 scale FJ45, I'd have a choice between the Team Associated CR-12, the WPL C44, the MN Models MN45 and this FMS. Of these, are are Chinese except the Team Associated, which has a lexan shell with distinctly dodgy proportions and is constantly listed as 'unavailable' anyway. So, dear trolls, the only options are budget offerings from China. Case closed - please stop wasting our time. Thank you.
Will you be doing a lift and mounting the leaf springs to the top of the axle? Everyone post videos of these stock but don't ever show upgrade videos for the 1/12 scale. Would love to see some different wheels and tires and a lift on this.
I would like to turn more only this i don't like, the rest are perfect i think. The model look more than perfect i must say is one of the most detailed micro rc trail trucks i have see.
Hi Tomley, nice review as always!! just wanted to ask if the transmission of your fj45 makes a single "click" noise each time after the wheels move briefly when low gear is engaged? from my observation, it looks like before the "click" the transmission shaft does not go back far enough to the rear of the vehicle, and after the "click", the shaft pushes further towards the rear of the rear vehicle, at where it should be at normal operation. Does what I have just describe makes sense? lol!
Hey awesome video if you take out the wires (usually if your looking from the front the left 2 are turn signals unplug them and no more annoying blinkers) i did this on my FMS Hilux
I've never seen anyone mentioning the battery life on these. The batteries for the 1/18 scales and this 1/12 scale always seem kinda small. How long does a battery last?
Really nice! So many great imported stuff these days. Too bad our Canadian dollar is terrible and we're paying 13% tax on everything imported now. It would be $379 plus shipping costs here. Kinda sucks the fun out of it a bit lol
Absolutely awesome rig and awesome video! I recently did an unboxing of my (FMS) RocHobby Fire Horse and a couple run videos on my own RUclips channel, ClassicSteelRC. I love that rig and I definitely have my eyes on another FMS or RocHobby rig as soon as I can afford another one! That FJ45 is definitely very high up there on my list!
hi tomley .just to ask you something i have an old traxxas grave digger with a 18 t pinon gear ...if i replace it with a 23 t pinon gear ..will it go faster or slower ..thanks
Good job u didn't fall in rescue boats in far repairs 😂 Awesome footage buddy looks great out there, I was quite surprised at the quality of the body don't look like plastic 😁 awesome trail truck 🙋♂️
Damn that thing is sweet! Hey Phil, try removing the motor and spinning the drivetrain by hand. It probably has a tight spot in it somewhere that is causing that surging at low speed. Please let us know in your next video if you figure it out. 😎🤙🏼
I was surprised how well this machine actually did! I do love the looks of it too, and I have to say, that although I do have four 1/12 scale trucks, all are still boxed as I'm not specially into them. ( yes, no, I didn't do the speed challenge Kei truck after all, and haven't built the one I got to check how good or bad the kits are) lazy bstrd russm fussm!)) Maybe you should do a 101276 mug, I mean celebrating a bunch of 000s is . . . dull?
That's a scale truck! Personally I am kind of tired of all the Toyota trucks. But this one is just so nice. Leaf springs are a plus for me. No doubt there's going to be a lot of mods and custom builds in this trucks future. FMS has really marketed a benchmark trail truck.
01013(haha) here in Arkansas USA!!! Thanks for the vid Tomley! I'm catching this one a little late. Whoops. Anyways awesome truck so detailed! I wanna watch you run it so here I am! Thanks have a great day Tomley!!
Thats cool, the front spring should be good on ural too, just like this... :( And it can go slow, without stop crawling... Looks like ural is a disappointment :( Oh and i got no screws for the mid axle and its stucking, maybe i did something wrong without papers..:)
The suspension and ride height aren't the best, but I'd bet if you just got some different tires on it then it would perform a lot better. It seemed to be struggling even when the suspension wasn't in play and the ride height was irrelevant. Going up the seesaw, for instance. That was hard on the tires. Different tires might overcome the shortcomings of the suspension and ride height.
It's fully licensed but not correct for any one year Toyota FJ45. It's got a mixture of details from different year, different decade trucks. If the headlight surround is squared, then it's like a 1979 and later FJ and it gets larger half clear/half amber turn signals in front, a different font on the grille, recessed door handles and should have the bulge on the windshield frame for the wiper motor. Biggest surprise is it's not 1/12 scale and re-uses the running gear from the Willys MB. Kind of a fail after the high marks of their Beetle, Kubelwagen, Willys MB and Suzuki Jimny models. Those have great details all around and are super scale.
This ones not on sale, but their other 1/12's are 32% Off! www.fmshobby.com/collections/1-12-rc-car?ref=TRC

fms is killing it in the scale game. Thanks for the hard work phil👍🏻

Best visual review of this product.
Wowe Phil! You are so right! This thing is ridiculous with its scale features! That place was brilliant as well. Another impressive rc from FMS!☕️
Who cares if it's not the most capable crawler when it looks like that? 😍
Beautiful little truck, Phil! 😃
The only thing I didn't like was the suspension... Exactly because of the crawling capabilities.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Yes, such a good looking truck
Ha, the scale details are very good, I owned a real one in NZ, with I still had it but alas... great vid Phil. Catch ya on the next one. John
Such a choice rig. Cant wait to see the aftermarket parts, ive got a 3d model i made of one of these not long ago with a sick bed cage, would love to give it to someone that can convert it to 3d printable bed for people
Why don’t you do it
Might not be the best performer, having a long wheelbase, low ground clearance and leaf springs, but DANG is that thing realistic!
Just bought one of these to along with my Hilux, fantastic models these are, becoming very fond of them!
Great for displaying!
The buzz lightyear bit was flippin hilarious!! Good shizzle!
Wow that is awesome they're really coming out with some really cool rigs !!
Hola Amigo muy buenos dias como estas , este tipo de vehiculo replica son fantasticos , es un clasico de toyota , muchas gracias Mr y feliz dia saludos desde Panama
Awesome looking model… only thing I don’t like are the wheels and tires which clearly came off the Willy’s Jeep by how they say made in USA 😂
Yes, good spot there! On a Japanese Toyota 😅
It also measures out to 1/14 scale and not 1/12. They can't get anything consistent but they should have designed some scale FJ45 steel rims and new tires
@@Hjerte_Verke it looked a bit small next to the Jimny
At 6:43 when you roll it, did you put on the Hazzard lights or did they turn on by themselves when it rolls over?
They were on the whole time (I think)
@@TomleyRC darn I just happened to notice after the rollover the lights were on. How cool would that be.
The right vehicle at the right time. A must have for my Toyota stable.
Big LIKE!
Well done review video my friend.
Best wishes,

Oh, I'm early?!
That one looks really good! Looks like FMS does basically everything right these days
I'm seriously considering a fms crawler. Your reviews have helped with that. I'm also some what of a fan of wpl too. I like both manufacturers because they are good enough value for money to modify too. Good work.
This is great, I have the FMS 1/12 Jimny, FMS make great scale models👌
Love the leaf springs! Wish there were more "scale crawlers" with scale suspension.
It is re-suing the 1/12 Rochobby Willys MB axles, leaf springs, wheels and tires. Once you see it you cannot unsee it. It's not even 1/12 scale, it is 1/14
Buzz dressed in blue gave me very strong Captain Archer (you know, Enterprise NX-01) vibes. Nice!
That's a very detailed rc I wonder how will it look compare to my 1:1 scale toyota ke70 sedan
If the price is affordable, I would love to have one !. Thanks for posting this.👍
I stick by my ftx 1/18 LC90. But nice little trail truck and amazing scale detail. With the great video quality we're used to...👌👍

Excellent video and review. The FMS FJ45 is definitely on my purchase list.
Very nice wee model and love the carry box.
Cool scaler, looking goooooood
looks tidy that , I like the how you cater for everyone with the price range of trucks 👍
Today you are "only" number 5 in the subscriptions with the review of this model ;-)
I’d have been nearer number 1 if FMS didn’t insist on silly release times 😅
I bought Three Bronx from FMSs budget line Eazyrc and it's been pretty good so far
Wow that colour!
FMS always quality 👌
Give us clue where in Nottingham the crawler track is please. 👍

Mmm about 18 inches near the post 😂

Very nice video! Nice truck, except the flashing light the whole time🤣 thumbs up!
I bet Buzz never ever thought that he would go to Infinity and Beyond in a Toyota Pickup!!!
Such a pretty truck, so scale..... I think it would make an awesome recovery truck with a boom winch in the bed...
Metal gear, very solid
Can it be upgraded any how, to make it a good crawler?
It is Beaugliful . Worthy of a new word .
Very Nice looking paint
Can these be supplied or configured in right hand drive?

0:06 flungboxing 😅😂🤣
See if you take your MN45 body and put it onto a wpl FJ45 chassis itd basically be the same pick up except the FMS version looks a bit more realistic
