What an absolutely stunning vehicle this is Phil, with proper opening and closing latch doors; wooden flooring; push button on/off switch on the dash; fabric seatcovers; true torsion beam suspension,2-speed tranny with 2wd/4wd selector, a truely accurate 1/12th scale model.
@@sidehacker2 4WD versions were built during the prototype stage, but they didn't seem to add anything to it's performance,so were dropped, when the Kubelwagan entered production.
Wow. Love the detail, there's definitely alot of thought gone in to this model. I do appreciate the way you make the distinction between this being a model and reviewing it on appropriate terrain.👍👍
Or a Suzuki Samurai!! They've already done two Jimnys, and they're only missing one iconic model, which is the Samurai (as it was more commonly known in the world, but Jimny also in Japan)
Life is getting in the way. Been missing my RC viewing. Visible parts of the suspension look the scale part and has scale geometry, except for that bonus 4wd. It really works nice in the terrain and dosen't detract from the scale looks. This thing looks like a gem.
Beautiful little thing, Tomley! Looks amazing! 😃 I agree, 4wd would be much better, but to run on roads and stuff like that... Should be great! 😃 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
that thing looks beautiful!!!! i have a massive interest in ww2 military vehicles and aircraft and this is just heavenly to me!! i wonder what else Rochhobby will produce? all the best mate
Mate this is absolutely outstanding 😱 the details are Amazing, even as a model its Amazing, yeah its not a crawling rc its a scale rc and its true to form like the real thing 😀 its definitely on my wish list , unbelievable 😱 I love everything about it and next year about April onwards ill be financially better off 😜 so I can start getting my wish list which is big and most off them are from your channel lol 😆 absolutely brilliant Video as always mate 👍☺👍 have a fantastic weekend pal 👍😍👍😎👍
Dang it Tomley! I'm a sucker for great scale detail, especially historic military. Need something more capable/ useful first, but really want one. Cheers, bud
Wow, the model is better technical equiped than the original, which was a military version of the beetle. The details are great. A really awesome car and a great addition to the Tamiya tanks of this time. Hoping for the next generation of the Kübelwagen, or even better Iltis or Munga, if it has to be a military car. (Nope, I´m not a beetle fan😁)
What a beautiful scale model, so many features, its stunning ! Great filming, love the on-board footage. Wish those features were available on a crawler, would love to have 2wd/4wd and low/high speed selection on a landrover......

The kuble wagon was the first vehicle to use portal axles during WW2 for the extra ground clearance. That’s absolutely amazing, gonna have to pull the trigger and get one. Sweeeeeeeeet. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧 Ps……the original WW2 kuble wagon was rear wheel drive only, and it had the same capability as the WW2 willys jeep.
I would be curious to see this in 1/6, then a Schwimmwagen.. That might trigger me to get back to WWII stuff... Ooh and a Kettenkrad... Or maybe just some 1/6 modern vehicles?
FFS I will HAVE to get that one now .I hope you are proud of yourself. If Rochobby bring out a Schwimwagen then I may as well just give them direct access to my account.
phew moment of want insanity over ,still want it but I am tempted by the trumpeter 1/16 M-ATV MRAP or the MAXXPRO MRAP light and sound proportional rc and seem a good price, I just can't find any reviews or info on them ,I do know Trumpeter tanks and kits are nicely detailed though.
I've found the springs and tires a bit stiff for unloaded offroad so i tried adding a few rocky passangers and it did in facti improve especialy in reverse up a slope ;)
Notice the helium & speed kicked in every so often ! VERY nice model -- well, me and anything historical and military. Think the actual Kubelwagen was only rear wheel drive. So maybe a Schwimmwagen next? THAT was 4x4, but also swimmable of course.
Such a awesome vehicle but I couldn't buy just 1 id get 2 keep 1 stock because its just good how it is but the 2nd id slowly modify tyres and rims first see how that goes then maybe completely pull all the stock stuff out as spare bits for the stock one and use the body and chassis and build a nice crawler with one
It’s adorable and I bet is a compliment to many collections. Hey I’m looking on your about page to find out how to email you because I’m speaking to my Redcat rep about possibly sending you some review RCs such as the Gen 8s but I will need an email and yours isn’t showing up.
Hey mate. It looked like the rear differential was Open at the 9:44 ( you can see the Right wheel isnt turning). Is it possible to unlock the diffs or are they always locked, just yours was broken? Greets from Germany ( i was a bit confused as i heard the meme in german :-)…)
Did you say traxxas fans because they are impressed with very little change and or advancements but still hold things to a high level with no credible reasoning other than “if it ain’t broken then don’t fix it”
I like it. But i wouldn't buy it either. Plus the cost is kinda of high. It's worth the money. But not for me. Did you check out the 1/8 scale rival yet?? .
looks SO VW it isn't funny, other than the AWD function and not being period correct rear swing axles. the "rear portal axle" is much like the real early bus/truck reduction gears, a pair was used for "BugFoot", a buddy's lifted Baja buggy on road off road project that ran 32" tires. BugFoot had an IRS but the bus/truck reduction boxes were adapted to fit. with all the details the model looks great, what's not to like? but I'd never heard of an AWD Kubelwagen with IRS! wasn't much need either, put some chunky tires on a VW and its not very easy to get it stuck. parts of Alaska and Canada love bugs with ski's up front, and a better heater.

Yes, they have done a good job!
Kubel did not have 4wd .

Yes, it seems some people expect every scale RC to be a rock crawler or similar
I hope they put this drivetrain on more models. This would be a great drivetrain for the FJ
Yes I agree

Thanks Mike… it’s certainly a good looking model

I really like the shape of that auxiliary headlamp - it's made to look like a german soldier's helmet.
The lamp is a convoy light , so not to be picked up by enemy aircraft at night .
It is KÜbelwagen....and that thing is sooo cool!
Wow! Certainly packed with features. The functioning pulley and belt are over the top!
Excellent video of fantastic vehicle.
Das hat sie auch gesagt😂😂i loved that mate! Awesome RC!! Thanks Phil 🥳👌
😅
Really beautiful model!
Fabulous detail. Wish they did a 1/6th scale to match the 1941 jeep!!!!
Very detailed little rig! The moving "engine " is really unbelievable attention to the detail
There's a saying here in Brazil... "If you praise it too much it's going to stop working!" 😂
😅
1/6 scale would be awesome
wow very scale
1st 500 views. I’m super early! Great video! Let’s see some comparison videos. 👍🏻
Thank you
That is awesome.
Amazingly well detailed and to be fair to it, the performance is respectable in a scale kind of way.
Beautiful model.
Absolutely stunning 😊
this thing deserves a Mark Felton soundtrack.
That’s why I love this channel full of surprises :)
OMG! Epic details!!!!!!!! I think I'm gonna haveta just build shelves all the way around my living room, and maybe up the stairs and and . . .
Oooh, Kubelwagen.......don't let Mark see it!
Too Late 😅

Now that is cool awsome vw thing .
definitely love it !
OMG!
I ALWAYS wanted kubelwagen!!
very impressed with the details, amazing little truck 😀 👍 👍
that would certainly be one to throw some scale stuff on on leave on the shelf looking all pretty 👍
This has such amazing detail! Sort of reminds me of the VW Thing! This is really cool! Phil! I ❤️it!🇺🇸🇬🇧
She's a beauty.! When are these companies going to supply figures as standard.?
Very nice Very scale looks good 👍 👌
Nice suspension design, I like the realsim
One might even rig up a tiny servo for the search light. What an awesome rig!
Really awesome Bro!! Have a great weekend!!
What we need them to do next is the Schwimwagen loosely an amphibious version of the Kubelwagen!
Well, I think this is magnificent - and in my favourite 1:12 scale, too!
cool rc and details,great review
Thank you 🙏
Please do an episode of disassembling this thing. I really want to see what it looks like on the inside
that thing looks beautiful!!!! i have a massive interest in ww2 military vehicles and aircraft and this is just heavenly to me!! i wonder what else Rochhobby will produce? all the best mate
Let’s hope they do some more to go with the Willys Jeep and this!
If i could only be a kid again, this is perfect for my child too though
I have the Roc Hobby 1/12 scale Willys Jeep and the 1/6 scale Willys jeep, but this is so well detailed.
Can we all say "Planetary gear differentials horizontally opposed four cylinder engine" 😂 😂 😅
Merry Christmas buddy 🎄🌟☃️🎁

First, cant see me owning one, but i will be first to admit the detail is stunning, it looks awesome if you like this kind of truck, great video
Yes I agree… it’s perfect for those that are into Military Scale models/RCs
Love it.
Planetary diff gear eh ,..... easy for you to say ;)
Haha 😜
There´s a good chance that they will do a 1/6 scale like they did with the Jeep...will be a instant buy!
Dang it Tomley! I'm a sucker for great scale detail, especially historic military. Need something more capable/ useful first, but really want one. Cheers, bud
No probs dude. Cheers for watching
Cool little truck. Not Portal axles tho. They are reduction boxes. Split screen type 2 T1 had them and I think some beetles did as well 🧐
Good to know 😎👌
I would love it if rochobby came out with a reliant robin.
Me too!

Yes, would be awesome! My Hilux has 2wd/4wd hi/lo selections
I've been looking to add a military style vehicle to add to my collection. This could be the first.
It’s really nice

Sherman m4a2: check

3-speed or 2-speed? RcReview showed 3 gears???
2 Speed. I think he may have been confused with Channel 3 as it’s a 3 position switch… but only 2 speeds 👍
I would be curious to see this in 1/6, then a Schwimmwagen.. That might trigger me to get back to WWII stuff... Ooh and a Kettenkrad...

@Tomley RC what truck is that over your right shoulder?
It's cool ! What all you youtube video guys get one for marketing ?
Even its avail.is scale , all you can ask for in a 36hp upright. Can we see a 1/16 Tank with opt. steel running gears. They'd go great together.
Unbelievable detail, still a real shame they don't have a scale German soldier driver its 99% there.
Wonder if a schwimmwagen will follow
Hopefully!
Where can you get the driver?
A 1/12 beetle body and you got a Baja buggy

I don’t really see the point of these types of models, the engineering is good and the scale detail is spot on but as an RC they seem pointless
