- In this video I show you the most "castizas" expressions from my city: Madrid. Or, as I would say: MadriZ. So that you can speak like a proper madrileño/a would!

Originally born in Madrid, Spain, I moved to the United Kingdom to teach Spanish and improve my english language skills. Having lived in England for several years I've learned the variations in speech and language of both Spanish and English. Uuy, you almost got it. I know the difficulty of gender in Spanish and in this case, it would be “chula lección” because lección is feminine. Crazy, yeah!

Tip: Get a saw, one for steel cut better, try to replicate cut sound when you pronounce the Ja Je Ji Jo Ju sounds.

Casi todas las palabras se usa en toda España. Debido a que Madrid es la capital y es dónde se hacen los programas de televisión y donde se ambientan las series de televisión.
Estos son expresiones españoles y no especificamente madrileño
Sí, algunos de ellos no son específicos de Madrid y se utilizan en toda España. Como "Vale", por ejemplo. "Me flipa" y "Mazo" son más una cosa de Madrid, creo.
Vivo 20 años en Cataluña ( soy de otro pais) y cuando se habla en castellano pues se utilizan todas las expresiones menos lo del tronco, mazo, debuti y esta en Parla.

Mio padre è stato introdotto a Gesù Cristo da un signore che ha frequentato Christ For the Nations a Madrid quando era nell'aeronautica militare degli Stati Uniti. Ora, nella sua vecchiaia, lui e mia madre sono cambiati molto. Oltre all'italiano, voglio imparare lo spagnolo da Madrid per la nostra eredità familiare. Interesting, I heard people say Madridh during the year I lived there. So I thought it came from Arabic. Someone told me it means matrix, because there are many springs fed by an aquifer system. BTW, Ciempozuelos = 100 wells (n cannot precede p or b, so m is used instead of n; pluscuamperfecto = plus [más] cuan [lo más que] haber).

The two last Spanish former prime minister speak that way, in fact they made a political slogan based on that pronunciation (very popular) the voiced th in final position becomes voiceless ("iz", "atauz", " volvez", "Madriz") In Madrid 80% of the people speak that way. The girl of the video says "Madrí" dropping the last d, that's the real classic old school pronunciation until 30's

Es muy buena pregunta, la verdad es que no sé dónde empezó! Es algo bastante reciente y se usa en todas partes de España diría yo pero podría venir de Latinoamérica perfectamente 🤷🏼♀️ indagaré! 😅👍🏻
Lo de ponerle una -i para acortar y hacer más familiares las palabras se ha hecho siempre, especialmente con los nombres propios: Santi, Puri, etc. Y obviamente viene del diminutivo -ito/-ita acortado en -i. Pero en los últimos tiempos se ha expandido bastante a objetos, expresiones, y demás (holi, cuqui, tonti...) aunque personalmente yo esto lo encuentro histriónico y falso (la mayoría de las veces), incluso sarcástico (las menos). Yo creo que esta progresiva expansión es debida a la creciente infantilización de la sociedad: cada vez veo más gente adulta hablando como niños de 3 años; aunque solo es mi impresión personal.

I don't think the J sound necessarily came from Arabs. It's very common in European languages, such as the Slavic languages and Germanic langauges.

Thank you! I’ve been living in the UK for almost 10 years now and I learnt it when I was 11 during my summers in the US. When I arrived to the UK I had an American accent believe it or not! 😅
