When I’m trimming my borders or cardfronts I save the little slivers and put them along the bottom or side of the inside to carry the “theme” to the inside.

Great tips! One of my yearly projects really helps all year! I buy a calendar from a dollar store, collage the front and back cover with family pictures and write everyone's birthday by the day of their birthdays. On each month I write in the margin the dates I need to send the cards out. After I send the card out I put a check mark by it. I usually write all the birthdays in the calendar between Christmas and New Years so I am ready to start the new year. I love seeing all the pictures when I check the calendar!

I design cards & cut out everything to make 8-12 cards with my senior friends at our senior center. The cards that we don't use are sold in order to replenish our cardstock or envelopes. I had a stamp made for the back of the cards. It is Handmade by Seniors of Taylor Texas in a circle with the state of TEXAS in the middle. The people buying them love our stamp.

I keep a binder with the instructions for some of your nifty paper crafts that I like to make often. I put the date on it and the name of your video. That way I don’t have to search for your video. I just go to my binder and follow the instructions and rewatch the video if I need a refresher.

I like to take pictures of my cards also. In order to remember who I send them to, I try to include the envelope with their name on it, in the photo of the card.

I love decorating the insides of my cards. I used to colour on premade ones as a kid lol so decorating the insides just makes sense.
I usually use a frame and a cluster. I do pull the front theme to the inside.

This episode made me laugh out loud and remember my sweet mother. She sent me the same birthday card two years in a row. It was so sweet and made me feel loved. After she passed, I told my sisters. They had received the same cards too. Mom was a Hallmark or American greetings person, so she probably didn’t remember sending us duplicates. This made me laugh and brought back great memories of my mom. Can’t wait to see her again! 😊

I keep the birthday and work anniversary date of each of the staff I supervise (over 40) on my work calendar.. Whenever I have a free evening, I make up a few cards with birthday/anniversary sentiments on them and then store them with envelopes in my desk. I give the handmade cards to my staff just so that they know I am acknowledging their special day and I care about them. I definitely get back more than I give from their smiles and genuine ‘thank you’s for showing that I care about them on a personal level, not just a work level.

I pick out all my cards each month in advance. I can see which folks I need to create for yet - plus I put the date I need to mail it where the stamp goes which will be covered when the stamp is applied.

Loved this video with all the tips. I also loved watching you cross stitch, I used to do this many years ago. I’d like to pass this along this tip, hope it helps. If you are using an even number of strands say 2, instead of pulling two out pull one and fold in half, then thread the open ends into the eye of the needle. This will give you your two strands, as you pull your first stitch run your needle so it goes through the loop (closed end) and do the next stitch. This will secure the stitch and you don’t need to hold the extra string. When you finish run it through like you did and that will hold the stitches. I crossed stitch a lot of things and never had any problems. 🥰💕

I also like to use the photos of old calendars. The big pictures can be Mystery Cut while the tiny thumbnail pictures on the back are easy to group or use as singles. The perfect stamp to use with a thumbnail grouping is "For Everything There is a Season."

In the beginning of my card making I was so critical of my own cards. But, for whatever reason I held onto them. Then as I got better and knew more, I found those cards weren’t all that bad and could be used. Often they just needed some tweaking, like cut off the front and layer it, or add some dimension, or cover up some boo-boos with sequins, flowers, die-cuts. Some were just too awful and needed to be thrown out. It’s just paper anyway, right? But, the most important thing was I learned not just how to improve my card making over time, but to accept the cards I was making as a reflection of my unique skill and artistic leanings.

I make sentiments for every occasion. I use all the sentiment stamps I own. For instance, I stamp out all of my "Happy Birthday" Then I stamp out all of my "Thinking of you" and so on. Then I cut them out. I would place each occasion strip in their own small envelope. I attach a tab at the top of each envelope, stating what sentiment is inside. Then, file all the envelopes standing upright in a small box in alpha order.
Whenever I accumulate extra cardstock scraps, I'll sit and make more.
    Thanks for doing this Maymay!
Everyone's tips are very helpful! ❤

So many good ideas! I take a picture of a card that I am going to send. I either Edit and type the name in the corner or have the name from the envelope peeking above the card in the picture. I mostly only send Birthday cards now, so I can go back to the same time for past years to see what I sent "so-and-so". I also put them in an Album in my Photos section on my device so all of my cards are easier to find.

Take a picture of the card. Upload to walgreens photo center. They can print and mail to you. I do every 90 days to get the most for my money. Then i place that in my journal with instruction to make it. If it's a difficult or multi layer card. I take a picture of each step

I hate sending cards to people look at them then throw them away. I made 70 different cards to a friend for her birthday and she kept them for a few days and then throw them away. It took me 2 1/2 months to come up with all the ideas what a waste. I’ll never do that again 8:46

I heard some very wise advice regarding that. All of us like to think our cards will be greatly appreciated, but they aren’t always. This person said, think of the card as your art piece while you are making it, but once sent or given away, it is no longer yours, and should be forgotten. However, recognize the various people you make cards for and don’t send them the card it took you three hours to make if you know they will toss it! I only give my very best work to fellow crafters, who know what it took to make, or to people who have told me they keep them. For example, I have a sister in law who told me she keeps my holiday cards and puts them up every year with her decorations. She gets my best cards!
