I love George, but never even thought about if he had children, as a 72 year old Englishman seeing this lovely young girl rocking with her father warms my heart.
Oh how beautiful...my best friend passed away less than a month ago and I am crushed. 🐕 Then I seen this, now I'm elated. America 🇺🇸 We get up and keep going! You go Girl! How beautiful....
This girl has her Dad's talent for sure......and it's not a surprise to know George had a daughter, since he is extremely private about his personal life. I only learned recently that he lost his wife to ovarian cancer around 2019. Ya gotta give the man props for hanging in the crazy music world so long; seen him many times, and to quote his song "Oklahoma Girl", he never quits, he never let's me down".
She did not do that bad. I just seen George last Night, the 9-10th time i have seen him. He never disappoints. I have never heard of his daughter. Hell i didnt even know he had a family. With him playing almost 200-300 shows a year for the past 30 yrs he is never home. Has anyone look at his tour history? This man plays on average 3-4 gigs a week. He will play 3-5 nights in a row all in different cities. Here is the kicker they dont fly, they have these two killer custom buses. They truck to their gigs. Just amazing 35+ years later and this man still rocks like it is the late 70's!!!!!! He is one of my all time favorites. You know what you get. 12-14 songs, he plays about 8 or 9 regular songs with 3-4 new covers thrown in. I just love this mans music. Actually i love that this man has taken all the old great blues artist that most of us had never listened to and redo THEIR music. He took the blues and turned into blues on steroids. Thank you George and the gang.
He also did one tour where he did 50 shows in 50 nights in a row, in every state, including Alaska and hawaii, and he DROVE (except for the alaska-hawaii and then to the mainland part) to every show in a Checker cab. . . . .also. . . here's a cool piece of music history trivia for you . . . . .While touring in the 1970s, the Destroyers and the Nighthawks happened to be playing shows in Georgetown at venues across the street from each other. The Destroyers were engaged at The Cellar Door and the Nighthawks at Desperados. At midnight, by prior arrangement, while both bands played Elmore James' "Madison Blues" in the same key, Thorogood and Thackery left their clubs, met in the middle of M Street, exchanged guitar patch cords and went on to play with the opposite band in the other club. Cool huh?
Yea that feat alone should get him in the RNRHF!! I heard in a interview by him that he should have made it 51 states. The last one being canada! His words not mine!
I never heard of Thackery until a few years ago at a benefit show in my hometown. I caught him the next time he played. Wow, what a player! We talked with him a little bit behind the building after the show. He was telling us about having a guitar stolen in Kansas City. When I replied how bad that sucked, he said "Oh I'm going to get it back! I know who took it!" LOL!
There are times like this when I wish I could live in the USA. ( I'm British and proud) but you do have some great live R&R or R&B bands. And that girl did just great fantastic job full of energy. Dad ,George must be as proud as punch as us Brits say.
One of my favorite bands when I was in high school. Was traveling to see them and our car broke down on the way. We had to listen to them play on the radio as we missed the concert in Philadelphia. Years later they came to Fort Myers Florida and I was able to see them outside in the Park. It was an amazing concert and well worth the years of waiting to see them and the missed concert because as I was trying to find a few people I was with a limousine came and pulled up next to me, the window opened and it was George himself! He said hello And asked me how I like the concert. I almost fell to the ground! It was one of the happiest days of my life! Sure would be nice to see him again like that! So happy to see he has a beautiful daughter with a great voice as well. Would love to see her too. Many Great memories listening to this music!
This was really great! Just like another poster said, I had no idea he had a family lol. How awesome is THAT to have a teacher who is George Thorogood and is your Dad!! She's got to get herself a slide!! The stuff he could teach her. Get out there with him, she can hone her skills and really learn how its done. That would be amazing....George Thorogood's kid playing slide guitar like him!! Hope she does this more often. Good luck to her!!
right on George! Nothin' better than passin' the gift of music on to your kids! She's very good! And your still the man! Cuz of you, I started playin as a teen ager, and now my 2 20+ year old boys are rockin' too!
A few years back got to see the Destroyers in Fresno . Rio and her mother were in the wings, she was about 10 or so . Lonesome George was trying to keep the racy parts "toned down" HaHa , she new all the words to every song . The Destroyers played "Get a Haircut" for me , Thank you guys !!!
Saw George in Dingwalls a great small rock venue in Camden Lock in London in the late 1970s . can’t remember much about it now but I’m sure it was why I’ve got ringing in my ears.
Yeah, and what would all those 'pop tarts' sound like if they actually had to SING live, instead of lip syncing to their pathetic dance moves... She's DAMN good.
All the complainers never have been on a stage with a band on loud volume, try to imagine how loud all these instruments are and figure how to find your own voice in all that noise.
I would have loved to been at this show ! Just great, really cool music ! This s**t now is garbage, with electronics controlling it all. Thx for sharing this great video !
+Charles Bruce Bostian She's not that good.....and what she does know, has been her life having him as a dad.......love your kid for who she is....his girl is nothing special....believe me, we know her
Thisis Insane Agree 100%. 1st off this is being recorded OVER THE AIR by a phone. Anybody that knows anything knows you can't judge anybody like this because there is so much sound being lost. For you know it alls that means frequency ,gain, trim and so much more. Anybody that has kids love seeing this type of thing because it shows the kid has spent some time, as in with this case their famous parent. It could be a non-famous musician. 1st it shows the parent has spent a lot of time with their kid because if the kid didn't put in the effort the parent wouldn't put their child in position to look bad. 2nd if most parents would put in half the time that apparently George has their kids would be a lot better off emotionally. 3rd it ties in with the 1st, it means the parent has taken time to KNOW their kid and at the same time the kid comes out with a better UNDERSTANDING of the parent.
Sin duda talento eredado en los genes de su hija, el orgullo más grande para un padre son los hijos no hay duda, mucho talento en esta familia, de un fan de toda la vida del buen george. Por cierto soy mexicano, saludos a todos
I saw him in 1986 or 87 at a college gym. It was in the summer, and at showtime they announced the AC unit went out. There was some concern that he may not play, but he came right up onstage and proceeded to put on a great show. It was 100 degrees in the gym, it was actually dangerous and people were getting sick. It was a great show, and I always have a lot of respect for him since that day. Most artists would have cancelled in a heartbeat.
Real dedication to his fans. He served them, and didn't pull any upper class nonsense; coming from New Jersey, he probably knew the value of a dollar and hard work, and wouldn't let people down. What a gem, G.T. is!
+Charles Bruce Bostian go lobe your own daughter and teach her something valiable. let her k now she is special. his kid here is not that great, as we said, we know her; daddy just allowed her on stage to play
That was ADORABLE !! What a good Dad!!
That’s a proud daddy! GOD bless you and your family, George!
Father & daughter, how cool is that? Lonesome George looks proud of her...good for them!
He's such a good father, he's not hogging the stage over her performance. That's total CLASS!!
Andrew Anderson love George thorogood great music
A total class act, and a total Adam’s!
Rio nice job. I love this song.
Andrew , that was the very first thing that I thought of !!!!!!!

Awww - this is gorgeous...look how proud he is of his little baby doll. What a terrific father. This is so sweet ❤️❤️❤️
I love George, but never even thought about if he had children, as a 72 year old Englishman

What a beautiful and talented young lady! Hope all is well with her Dad after health issues.

These are the moments we say thank you to these artists.
This is what makes me thankful I'm alive to enjoy these moments
That's incredible. I wonder if she really knows how much of a legend her dad is.

She has one hell of a country voice. She's inherited some damn good genetics that girl, and talent on the ol guitar to boot.
She's a chip off the old block! Ears'n all! You go girl!
Saw George in Dingwalls a great small rock venue in Camden Lock in London in the late 1970s . can’t remember much about it now but I’m sure it was why I’ve got ringing in my ears.
all the nayers about her voice, remember it is live. No fancy studio work
Think she got great voice to do blues.
Yeah, and what would all those 'pop tarts' sound like if they actually had to SING live, instead of lip syncing to their pathetic dance moves... She's DAMN good.
Paul Rodgers live just as good as studio. Either you have it or you don't.
She'll just get better with experience. Imagine the adrenaline rush she's on.
All the complainers never have been on a stage with a band on loud volume, try to imagine how loud all these instruments are and figure how to find your own voice in all that noise.
That was kinda nice at the end the way they showed their happiness at being on stage together.
:-)
