Hey man, I've been on my clinical rotations for exactly 6 months now. Don't worry about being perfect. As a medical student, people don't really focus on you as a top priority. And most of all, it takes a lot of practice to get good at the physical exam. I've seen residents and physicians do "neuro" exams that would make any neurologist laugh, especially with they use their stethescope to do the DTRs. It's super cringe to be honest. You got this brother; focus on taking care of yourself. You matter most of all.
definitely encouraging to hear, you just always want to strive to be the best in your clinical skills as you can be, but perfectionism is a double edged sword
Okay dude, you probably seen my comments on some of your videos LOL but I've binging your videos about medical school, and this one... I needed to see. Thank you for emphasizing that we can just be the best student/student doctor/resident (wherever we are in life) RIGHT NOW rather than skipping steps to be ahead. I need that reminder and I literally have the same problem where I focus too much on what to do for the future rather than for the present. Anyways, I hope you're doing well, God bless.
I’m so glad I found your channel! I went to the Medical College of Georgia and graduated with a PharmD degree in 1993. My husband was a resident when we met and now he’s the Director of the IMS Hospitalist group at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ll never forget how much fun we had laughing and being silly together with our friends….. there’s nothing like the hardship of Pharmacy/ Med School to create close friendships. Good luck, I think you’re going to be a fantastic doctor!💗
I’m so excited to have found your channel! Medical College of Georgia is my alma mater. Graduated from the Pharm.D. program in ‘93 and watching your video made me realize how fun we used to have.
Uuuugggggggggghhhjhhh medicine is absolutely wonderful but man I can't express how much I look forward to paying for a secretary to take care of all the admin stuff as an attending. Admin work and their indifference towards medical trainees are just astounding and really do suck the fun out of it 😓😓😓
When covid hit, we were forced online even though we still had CE exams to do including the full physical exam. Due to a covid exposure scare, we were not able to stagger our smaller exams with the full exam so my partner and I had to do a Neuro, msk and abdominal exam as well as a full physical with a preceptor that threw a hissy fit if we didn't get the exact order down and gave stuff in our full physical that was more detailed due to overlapping stuff between the exams. I ended up having an emotional breakdown and told her to hop off my case and she worked my partner up to having a panic attack she was trying to control and then dared to ask her "do you normally breathe that way?" Like broooo lay off 😭 that was so traumatic for both of us. I'm so glad I don't have to see her any more and rotations has been a lot kinder than my first two years.
You should get some snacks and keep them in the car, like tree nuts 🌰 🥜 if you like them, with it cooling down some protein bars and some fruits. Some veggies too! 🥦🥒🫑 You still shouldn’t have had to pay anything for that ticket. 😑
