      Lol, that's how it was for my first build, i thought i killed it, and then flicked the power supply button and it worked.
      My second build was a little more complicated. The board wouldn't boot from the case powerbutton, and i couldn't figure it out. I thought the board was dead, but jumped it with a screwdriver and it started right up. I took the front IO out of the case and pressed the power button on the pcb and not the case. And it worked. Figured out the problem. The button wasn't properly aligned with the button on the PCB. That's just one of the many problems i had with that case. It was the Lancool 2 orignal version. After many other problems like gpu seating being impossible, i had to get rid of it. I don't know if all the Lancool 2's were like that, but mine had no way to mount the gpu, as the motherboard PCB was basically touching the side of the case, and there was no way for the fingers on the pcie bracket to get in with going through the board.

      I've had mixed results with power supplies and most eventually fail after a few years. I've had Expensive Seasonics, mid-grade Corsairs and ThermalTakes. For the Corsair and TT, they were modular and the modular boards busted on them out of no where. I converted them into benchtop power supplies. The Seasonic 1200 first had the fan fail, I replaced but it eventually stopped turning on. I'm now on Seasonic Focus.
      The ONLY hardware to fail has been Power Supplies. I guess get a decent name brand and keep the load in specs, It'll eventually fail and rinse repeat. Most have good protection against current spikes so just pray it doesn't take anything along with it.

  • @PabzRoz
    @PabzRoz 3 года назад +31

    As far as the riser cable is concerned almost all of them have an issue with the new generation GPU's due to them being PCIE gen 4. There's a bandwidth limitation which causes black screens, post issues, etc. That's why the PC gave you issues once you installed the cable. To fix this you need to set you output to PCIE gen 3 in the bios and 9 times out of 10 it fixes the issue completely. I wish you would have tried that.

    • @freakmanultra
      @freakmanultra 3 года назад +2

      Agreed. I had the exact same issue with my 3080. Bought a gen4 rated cable. Works perfectly

    • @PabzRoz
      @PabzRoz 3 года назад +3

      @@freakmanultra Someone said the exact same thing just now to Jay on his Twitter and he responded "That’s not how it works. 3.0 and 4.0 are completely compatible.
      "....🤦‍♂️ I love Jay, but he can be so close minded sometimes lol. Of course they're "compatible" but that's not the issue here.. if you install a riser cable that can't handle the the PCIE gen4 bandwidth then obviously it's going to cause these issues because the board is trying to communicate with the card at the gen4 transfer rate.

    • @stevy2
      @stevy2 3 года назад +1

      Luckily the difference between gen 3 and gen 4 is 1 or 2 fps.

      A recent video on what you mentioned.
      ruclips.net/video/KwfAF5XjXbM/видео.html&feature=emb_logo
      This is 100% an issue. As im running a vertical GPU mount kit I looked into this extensively.
      There is info out there of people having tested "Gen 4.0" riser cables vs 3.0 and the consensus is that current Gen 4.0 might be compatible but, i.e you can boot on Bios PCIE set to AUTO, the actual performance is worse than using a 3.0 riser cable and setting Bios to Gen 3.0.
      Linkup have acknowledged this and commented that that are working on a true Gen 4.0 riser cable for release is 1st quarter of 2021. I believe the issue is with the Gen 4 cable shielding requirements.

    • @kirkanos771
      @kirkanos771 3 года назад

      @@PabzRoz Actually no, it wont. Because if the gen4 transfer rate cannot be fullfilled, it automatically throttles back to the protocol below. It works this way for any bus technology. There is no problem to stay at gen3 transfer rate. This is not the cable that dictates the transfer rate but the results of trying and fullfilling a complete transaction under each protocol. Also, this is impossible for a gen3 cable to sustain the gen4 protocol. This cant be faked or work by any godlike miracle.
