On this episode of Retail Reviews, Mike and Ryan discuss Nintendo's GameCube and a few of its stand out games. The Nintendo GameCube is a home video game console released by Nintendo in Japan and North America in 2001 and in PAL territories in 2002. The GameCube is Nintendo's entry in the sixth generation of video game consoles and is the successor to their previous console, the Nintendo 64. The GameCube competed with Sony's PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's Xbox. The GameCube is the first Nintendo console to use optical discs as its primary storage medium. The discs are in a miniDVD-based format but the system was not designed to play full-sized DVDs or audio CDs unlike its competitors, and mainly focused on gaming instead. The console supports limited online gaming as well.

You're thinking of BS The Legend of Zelda, which is a downloadable single player rom through Nintendo's old Satellaview service for the Super Famicom.

fieldguy316 I bought one about 5 years ago and barely touched it the whole time. Then picked it up again about 3 months ago and play it nearly every day and have quadrupled my library. It is amazing

I'm currently playing a GameCube game. It's Metroid Prime. I'm almost to the end. The SNES, N64, GameCube, Genesis, PS2, and Dreamcast are my favorites of the older consoles.
Also, I bought Sonic Adventure DX recently for the GameCube on eBay about a week ago and it came Friday. I'm excited of playing it after I beat Metroid Prime.
Edit: I'm almost to the end of Sonic Adventure DX now. I just finished all the characters' stories (Including the ending story Super Sonic story.) All I need to do now is get ranks A and B in all the character's levels.

Make you sure you play Metroid Prime Echoes after that.

@@RezaQin I'm thinking about it. I'm trying not to spend too much because I'm trying to save up for an Xbox One so I can play Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition (Which I already got before the One because it was cheaper lol. 🤷) It's not the next GameCube game I'm wanting to get, but since you recommended MP2 and that it already came to my mind; I'll be sure to get it at some point. Perhaps after I get Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, or Super Monkey Ball. I'm looking for some Super Nintendo games as well. I'll get around to it though for sure.

Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door was easily one of my favorite titles. Would love to play through that again.

The wii is still pretty awesome. You can get one for like $20 or less at a thrift store, mod it with nothing but an SD card....
Massively cheaper is why folks suggest it, better laser aside.
I mean nothing wrong with playing it on the gamecube; but I wouldn't really knock the wii at all either, it's a solid and heavily underrated console that is fairly affordable even today on any budget.
Also, unlike a gamecube, it's VERY easy to mod if you want to do that, and there is a lot you can do with it- including making games boot in a gamecube like way (Like mike's issue) albeit it takes a slight bit of know-how or finding a tutorial.

I lovd the little Easter egg in the BIOS. When there is no game in the gamecube, it plays an extremely slowed down version of the Famicom Disk System starting up.
