32 here I didn't really care for the GameCube when it first came out I was more into the PlayStation 2 in the original Xbox but I've come to appreciate it more as I've gotten older It has some great games

I am so sorry for your recent tragedies man - There will come better days. It may not seem like it right now in the moment, but there will. Thank you for watching. I’m glad the videos can help in some way
@MyRetroLife thank u so much it really means alot.it's just hard man I still feel like I see them and hear them everywhere I go. I'm not sure if u herd of shadowman it came out on the n64 my dad wasn't much of a gamer but he loved that game. Was the only game we beat together that and the sequel shadowman second coming on ps2.
Man I luv the GameCube so much. Never owned one till late 2019 but I always had good memorable memories with it from my childhood friend (who was my Nextdoor neighbor) when I use to play it or see him play . Now I have been picking up more games for it and it’s so fun being to see my own personal collection grow and games I can play
Gamecube..aah, sweet memories! Ever since Metroid Prime came out, I wanted GC so bad..but didn't have money to buy it, because I already had ps2 and tons of games for it. But my dream did get fulfilled in 2007, when I actually bought Gamecube off ebay for roughly 70$ (good luck finding a working GC with adaptor, controllers, etc for that price in 2024). Still have it along with my crt tv. Thanks again Tyler, for bringing up these sweet nostalgia memories!
Great video! Anyway, I couldn't think of a top 10 but to make up for that, here are my favourite games on the GameCube!: 1. Metroid Prime 2. Mario Kart Double Dash!! 3. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door 4. Battalion Wars 5. Mario Party 4
It was my first console. I've been meaning to buy another Starfox game after playing one of my first games, “Starfox Assault” more recently. Now I'm going to get “Star Fox Adventures” my first video game. I love the music in Assult, it's so beautiful and adventurous.
I always remember my friends 13th Birthday. We went paint balling and there was 5 of us that went back to his house and we played Super Smash Brothers and for those 4/5 hours we were engrossed. I’d never played 4 players before it was amazing.
Dude i absolutely adore your channel every time i watch one of your videos i am transported back to my teenage years. I live over the pond in Wales but still so many similarities to you. Keep up the excellent work 👍🏻
The gamecube was the first console i ever asked for and got brand new. Paper Mario the thousand year door, mario party 4, super mario sunshine, and luigis mansion were all such great games that still hold up very well nowadays
GameCube was my 2nd favorite from this generation (PlayStation 2 #1 XBOX #3). I remember having so many games for this console, but Resident Evil Zero and remake..let’s not forget number 4 had a major impact on me. Metal Gear Twin Snakes was refreshing as well!! Super Monkey ball, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, F-Zero GX, Smash Brothers Melee, Wind Waker, SM SunShine, Mario Kart, Pokémon Colosseum! Honestly there are a few more, but these stick out the most. Tyler you remind me of how it was as a child growing up with family and friends when it comes to this timeline of gaming. As always your content takes me back to incredible storytelling of generations in gaming! Long live gaming, and the money I’ve spent over 32 years is enough to “Make a Grown man cry” Thank you 🤟🏻
Your inclusion of Phantasy Star Online brings me so much happiness. Such an underrated and unveravalued game. So much of the modern game industry can trace things back to PSO!
funny that the xbox soul caliber is on the shelf behind you. Great list! Gamecube is something special, feels like every game is at least good- and there are of course many great/amazing/perfect games.
I really loved the Need4Speed games on GameCube more than the other consoles. Underground 2, Most Wanted, and Carbon. I know these games on the other systems were better graphically, but the GameCube controller was by far superior when it came to racing games! I always played with manual transmission, and you could set up the GameCube controller in a way the other systems didn't even allow, with the triggers for gas and break, and the c-stick as shift up/ down. This set up allowed you to downshift them e- brake around a corner without letting off the gas, giving perfect handling around corners. Not to mention, with the pressure sensitive triggers, you could rev up and hold the rpm's at the right spot for a perfect takeoff every time. I don't have them anymore, or GameCube for that matter, but recently got them on an old ps2, and while the games were still really fun to play, it just wasn't the same. The GameCube controller was just hands down the greatest video game controller ever made!
I never played Eternal Darkness, but I had a similar heart attack moment with Animal Crossing, of all games! My friend and I were about 10 years old and having a sleepover. It was dark, and for fun, we kept resetting Animal Crossing to see Mr. Resetti get angrier and angrier, and eventually he tricked us into believing that he had just deleted my save file! My friend and I were both momentarily terrified! It's even funnier now that this video has taught me that 2 different GameCube games play this trick on you, and the other one is a horror game.
Mad nostalgia man my friend had a GameCube across the street from my dad's..wed play monkey ball and resident evil 4 all the time..make music . Sadly he passed away about 20 years ago but I'll never forget those memories
I got my first Gamecube in July 2005 and it was the indigo model and I still have it today along with a platinum GameCube I got at a yard sale in August 2019 and the jet black model I got from another yard sale in October 2021. I currently have 3 GameCubes with different colors.
Thank you for this. Your videos give me a sense of nostalgia I haven't felt in 20 years. Watching this video just made all my childhood memories flood back in because I only had a GC as a kid.
One of the best games that many people don't even know but has always been my favorite gamecube game (and one of my favorite games of all time) is: 1. Skies of Arcadia Legends
I never owned a gamecube or played one but I have played some of the gamecube games on other platforms like metroid prime, mario sunshine, and resident evil 4. Some solid games
Another great video, my love! ❤ The best part was watching this with Hallie and her getting all excited when her game play clips were used. We had to rewind many times! 😂
Thanks brother I was just starting to feel that sadness creeping in but you helped me more than ya know. My dad bought my indigo purple cube. 99 bucks in about 2004? Any who I can relate love remembering them times. We are the super players.
I traded in all my games and previous console( I was always trading games so don’t remember what I had before it) with my brother to get the GameCube when it came out. We had the game pass at blockbuster and would walk back and forth from blockbuster sometimes multiple times in the same day to switch out games. What a joyous time in my life!
I didn't get a GC until 2005 or so, and I regret not getting it sooner. It's such a charming system. Windwaker was beautiful and fun, I loved sunshine, metroid was mindblowing, and eternal darkness was soooo good! I never got to phantasy star online. Great list Tyler!
I missed Metroid Prime the first time around, but played the remaster and, man, it's one of my favourite games. Really captures the atmosphere of a classic 2D Metroid game, like you mentioned
Feels great to revisit the consoles of back then. A much simpler time. Here's my top 10 in no particular order: 1. Paper Mario TTYD 2. Super Smash Bros. Melee 3. Sonic Adventure 2 4. Super Mario Sunshine 5. Luigi's Mansion 6. Animal Crossing 7. Custom Robo 8. Mario Golf 9. Soul Calibur II 10. Resident Evil 4
Excellent video, Tyler! So many awesome picks, and a few surprise picks too. It’s definitely challenging narrowing the choices down to 10, when the console had so many quality titles 👍.
Thanks for this list and the memories! I need to go back and collect a few Gamecube games since I have the Wii that can play them now. Back then I was playing more XBOX and Playstation while my youngest brother was playing most of the Gamecube games. Definitely need to grab some of these gems and get to playing.
GameCube had so many great games like sonic adventure dx, sonic adventure 2 battle, the legend of zelda ocarina of time and masterquest bundle, pikmin, f-zero gx, wwe day of reckoning, skies of arcadia, viewtiful joe, paper mario the thousand year door, plus many others.
The most real etenal darkness sanity effect was when it kinda blue screens, and I literally thought "damn, my gamecube is glitching" I didn't even know it was part of the game, I came to the conclusion DAYS later.
I was waiting and waiting for the sequel to Eternal Darkness. Never happened and maybe for the best, it would have been very hard to live up to the original. Such an awesome game.
It's funny you mention the Cube version of Soul Caliber 2 often gets forgotten, if memory serves me correctly it was the best selling version of that game, lol
Dude GameCube was the first system I got of that era . Xmas 2002 I was 8 or 9 got the platinum color an pack in was Sunshine Mario . It's my favorite Mario game still . My next favorite is Star Fox adventures me my brother cuz an my dad spent hours playing it !
Where Star Wars Rogue Sqadron II: Rogue Leader? One of the best games for platform and one of the best Star Wars game of all time. True exclusive for platform, instead Wind Waker, RE4 and Metroid Prime. Bought Wii for that game back in 2011 and start explore gamecube and Wii library, which i miss.
-Love this channel man, SMSunshine, Resident Evil 1 remake were definitely my favorites! A friend of mine, and I sit in line to buy GC on launch!! Great memories
Ah man, I remember PSO. Me and my buddies back then used to play every day in split screen. We'd refer to Moon Atomizers as 'Dereks' because our friends played a FO and was always dying lol When we found our first Red Box weapon, that was an event of discovery. Ah man, the venerable and dependable Varista.
I literally own every Nintendo console from the NES through the Switch and I’ll be 40 this year in November and GameCube is like my second favorite console tying with the Switch because the Switch is so portable but I love the GameCube and the Gameboy player!! 😊
The Nintendo GameCube had so many wonderful games that are still beloved by new and old gamers everywhere. Although the Nintendo GameCube came out in 3rd place these days It's number 1 and has many gamers going out collecting for it. I have been going through Mario Party 6 but my favorite Mario Party is Mario Party 7. Resident Evil 4 was amazing, F-Zero GX shows other games what it looks like to go out on top and so many amazing classic games spanning almost all popular main line Nintendo franchises. To bad we never go Earth Bound back then and many other but what we did get was perfect. Cool video. ^_^
I finally beat Luigis Mansion about a year ago. I loved it! I have Eternal Darkness in my GameCube now. Gotta finish Metroid Prime. I have all 3 versions of Soul Caliber 2.
I remember seeing commercials for this all the time. I never got one but their commercials were so cool. I just had an Xbox that I bought myself. I had to save up and then the 360. I think I had a PS2
Oh I lied I had a Nintendo 64 I play ocarina of time and thought it was the coolest game ever idk I get since there were no commercials and I didn't have slot of friends like that or some 😂 I never knew about all these other Zelda games I'm going to try twilight princess for the first time I've always wanted to play that one because he can turn into a wolf . In ocarina it was so cool to be able to transform into all the other characters and not just that have there attributes and reactions to there culture and stuff it was so amazing. That's the only thing that buns me out about bow and totk are the powers there so modernized or w.e lol but there cool .
Great video and retrospective; Phantasy Star Online was amazing! I'm glad you gave it some spotlight. I like your list--the Nintendo 1st party choices (especially) truly stand the test of time. A couple more personal favorites I spent countless hours with would be: Mario Superstar Baseball and Mario Kart: Double Dash.
I remember when GameCube was very cheap to buy and now it is expensive but I still have my original orange GameCube and the games I played to death: Pokemon box, Disney sports baseball, Pokemon colosseum, go go hyper grind, gotcha force, wario world Kmart edition, and Pokemon xd gale of darkness
Good memories of My NGC and PS2 times.. My top 10 NGC that I cannot live without.. 01) Metroid prime 02) Paper Mario Thousands Years Door 03) Tales of Symphonia 04) LoZ Wind Waker 05) Mario Kart DD 06) Resident Evil 4 ( NGC controller was very good for this ) 07) Super Mario Sunshine 08) Eternal Darkness 09) Metroid prime 2 10) Pikmin 1 and also: 11) Pimin 2 12) Luigis mansion 13) Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg 14) Sonic Adventure DX 15) Fire Emblem 16) F-Zero GX 17) Viewtiful Joe ( 1 & 2 ) 18) Mario Golf 19) Sonic Riders 20) Sonic Adventure DX NGC is a good Console, still have mine, and is an excellent complement to the PS2 which had great RPG.
Zelda wind waker just forced me to buy the gamecube (and Resident evil 4 which was only on gamecube for some time). What an amazing game. I did play a lot and was very advanced near finishing, but the problem was that you need a lot of time to discover. I started to have less time and ended up having long boat trips in zelda and many times fell to sleep while playing. about 10 years after i was able to finish it in HD on the Wii U version. Some of the zelda games that came after on Wii i did not like that much, until breath of the wild came and it was mindblowing again. For the first metroid on gamecube i was in love and finished it, but then i tried metroid echoes and left it after an hour, same with metroid 3 on wii, played a bit and left it. I just hope they release HD versions so i can give them a try in the future.
Another great video Tyler! Some games I’ve been meaning to play, and some of my favorites! I grew up with Melee, Sunshine, Mansion and Monkey Ball! So many great memories. I have Metroid Prime remastered for Switch, haven’t played it yet.. And I need to get Eternal Darkness & RE4!
The nintendo game cube has such a great library of games. Games like mario sunshine metroid prime both one and two Mario kart double dash The legend of zelda the wind waker and twilight princess Soul calibur 2 Luigi's mansion And super smash brothers melee. I mean my gosh , such an excellent library of games and a clue to a couple of hidden gems on the Gamecube as well to Still a Is great and wonderful console to this day.
Gamecube is my favorite console, along with the GameBoy Advance, then that led into the XBox 360, my third favorite console. Best decade of gaming ever. My top 10... 1. Metroid Prime 2. Resident Evil 4 3. Super Mario Sunshine 4. Resident Evil 5. Wave Race: Blue Storm 6. F-Zero GX 7. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 8. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem 9. Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader 10. Animal Crossing
My top 10 Gamecube games 10) Super Monkey Ball (A game so fun, they even included mini-games to enhance the already high replay value) 9) Mario Kart Double Dash (Best Mario Kart game hands down) 8) Star Wars Rogue Squadron II (One of the GOAT Star Wars games) 7) Viewtiful Joe (Just fun and innovative all around) 6) Star Fox Assault (Best Star Fox game in my book) 5) F-Zero GX (One of the GOAT racing games) 4) Baten Kaitos (Who knew card game combat would translate quite well into an awesome JRPG) 3) Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (One of the best games in survival horror, period) 2) Metroid Prime (One of my favorite games in one of my favorite Nintendo franchises) 1) Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (THE best RPG on the Gamecube, hands down)
I love the GameCube I had a great GameCube collection too.. That's the one system I wish I had never got rid of. Super Mario Strikers was one my most played games on the system

I wonder if Myamoto dreams all this stuff up. The super soaker is still insanely imaginative
Going back in time with My Retro Life I’ve seen all from 1980-Now great memories
-Love this channel man, SMSunshine, Resident Evil 1 remake were definitely my favorites! A friend of mine, and I sit in line to buy GC on launch!! Great memories
Ah man, I remember PSO. Me and my buddies back then used to play every day in split screen. We'd refer to Moon Atomizers as 'Dereks' because our friends played a FO and was always dying lol
When we found our first Red Box weapon, that was an event of discovery. Ah man, the venerable and dependable Varista.
My #1 has to be Paper Mario Thousand Year Door. I've lost count of how many times I've replayed and finished that game.
RE4 was the beginning of the end for RE. T_T
Powerslave was already doing metroidvania for FPS games, the remake is amazing!
Had a gamecube as a kid. Didnt even know metroid existed. Absolutely was BLOWN away with the remaster on switch. 10/10
Resident evil 4 on the GameCube was some good times man
I appreciate the video and all, but my big takeaway is that you have a really cool dad! 😊

Yep. And no SSBM...
@@McHaro0079 Nothing bad about SSBM, but is not my cup of tea.. is more of a multiplayer thing. Another one i liked too was ODAMA 🤣
Eternal Darkness is amazing. Def my fav on GC. Wish it would come back.
GameCube is when we all found out they were less than others...and have been ever since😢.. great content
