I’ve been using ALDI version of coyo and it’s amazing for that whipped cream texture. Great on top of scones and cakes.i find the texture much the same as coyo myself and much cheaper.
I love the way this was filmed; Wes Anderson's Vegan Whipped Cream : ) I usually don't want whipped cream to taste like coconut _at all_ , so I have all but given up on replicating dairy whipped cream. I appreciate your discovery, though, and will try out this method for when I do want a coconutty effect, say, over mango pudding pie. TFP!
Hey! Your video is fab.. I've actually done heaps of experimenting like you! Lol.. I love all your facials.. it can be so disappointing sometimes to try and try and try.. and keep failing. My experiments have turned out quite differently though!!!! I would never ever try to whip a can of coconut MILK. Coconut CREAM yes. I feel like it's a fail proof solution.. though no where near as expensive as the COYO option (I too used to whip this up.. from frozen actually...as I used to get loads of tubs for free/discounted.. lovely results.. the volume is out of this world haha)... My go-to cans are the 99c Woolworths Coconut Cream and $2.50 Select/Woolworths Organic Coconut Cream... I do this allllllllllll the time, like on a weekly basis.. it makes to-die-for chocolate mousse! So light and fluffy and creamy and mmmmmmmmmmmm :)
I have had best results with coconut milk from cans when it wasn’t stored in the fridge. I was using just can from the shelf and it was working very well. Thank you for idea of wiping coyo though. I will definitely try it out.
oooh neat - at least this time in Aus at the moment i think the weather is too warm for them to naturally seperate and set. but i'm sure one day i will have success with the canned method hehe x
I always love your videos and you are one of my absolute favourite internet people, but this video was EVEN BETTER than usual!! It was so funny, and i loved the storyline :D i will have to try this method... also would you recommend the cookbook? I’m considering buying it, or at least putting it on my wishlist this christmas.... If i remember correctly you mentioned making a video review of it, that would be great! xoxo to you and harvey
Okay WHAT THE HECK. I was literally flipping through Ella's cookbook while watching videos and turned to the exact same page as you at the same time. ALSO this was was the bomb. I am definitely keeping it up my sleeve.
ahhhh i love this video so much!! my one time attempting vegan whipped cream a few christmases put me down and I just decided i would have to go without but this Christmas is definitely going to be accompanied by coyo whipped cream now!! choosing coconut yoghurt is a quest that often leaves me a little disappointed with some of the textures or the crazyyy overpowering coconut tastes!! im also be interested to see what the texture of the Coles coconut yoghurt is like as it is one of the more inexpensive ones i would love to see more of this video style!! absolutely lovely xoxo
so lucky today to find some reduced mini natural coyo at a health food store!! i think it was the universe being lovely to me so I’ll be trying out this ASAP!! unfortunately there are no aldis in tassie!! which is a shame because i hear so much about how good it is for vegan goodies!! xoxo
Omg!! I need to see if it works with the different brands available here in Sweden. Thank you for sharing!! xx Btw, have you tried the recipe with another brand? How was the outcome?
thealiceftw Hej! 😀👍
i ordered it from book depository, yet ended up cancelling that order and buying in store (Big W) as it never sent due to publishing orders (because it's so popular i suppose) x
The quality of this video is incredible. All the different angles, the script, the editing, everything is so perfect and cinematic.
agh thank you so much hun

agh bummer, hopefully the price drops as demand increases - hopefully hehe.... xx
Anyone in Canada, I tried this with YOSO brand coconut yogurt and it didn't work.
thank you for sharing your experience - that's a bummer though, wishing you all the success with another brand xx
Is your whole family vegan?
New viewer, love your videos!!!
agh welcome welcome
$10 is a little much for me so I will be doing without, sadly!
another person commented that a cheaper coconut yoghurt from aldi worked just as well which is exciting. i understand though x
