I know it might sound cliche, but if you and Julien ever need to take off for ANYTHING for a day, a week, a month whatever the amount of time might be, you deserve it so much more than anyone else. You guys give us SO MUCH! Even though we cannot physically be there to hug you guys just know we be there in a heartbeat if we could! A lot of bedding from the pet stores isn't natural and can be full of chemicals. That's my guess. It was living in pure chemicals.

Jenna, you guys are such rad pet parents. I work at a pet nutrition store in Seattle called Mud Bay (apparently you visited my store once just shortly before I was hired, you should come back so I can lavish your pooches and/or Ad with love/treats/water for the cermets), and I LOVE hearing about how pet parents spoil their pets! My cat currently has more beds in my house than there are chairs, and she literally has a perch that suction cups to the window so she can watch the city all day while I'm gone. (PS You should come in and get one for when you get a cat soon *cough Julien cough*!) Seattle is such a dog friendly city, come back and we can all go to Norms (dogs included) which is a dog themed restaurant/bar that DOG'S ARE ALLOWED IN OMG. Anyway, you're doing a great job, and I just want to say I aspire to be as pet-extra as you guys, and I believe I'm well on my way

Frank the bull dog 2 What the hell this is the best cage someone could ever make for their hamster-- a lot of space, because surprise, hamsters need more space then a small plastic box, and hamsters chew on metal bars a lot and chew off the layer of color what can make them sick, so getting an open tank is literally fricking amazing-- He had the best nesting materials, a sand bath so he would be clean, and *you* want to say that this is the worst thing for a hamster? Just for future reference if anyone’s getting inspiration for what to buy their hamster from this video, the Tiny Friends Farm sand is no longer safe for hamsters. At the time this video was filmed it was one of the hamster community’s favorites but the company has since changed the formula to be much more dusty and there have been reports of hamsters dying due to respiratory issues caused by it. I even read that one person found the dust on their hamster’s nose after it had died. No disrespect to Jenna, she did an AMAZING job with this cage and this has become a video I watch whenever I need to cheer up, just wanted to let anyone who may come across this know before they put their little friend in danger of a product gone bad

When I got my lil hamster (Chinese dwarf) his name is nugget the people at the store were literally begging us to get a very small tank we didn’t listen because I did a lot of research and found that it was way to small for him and I can use a big clear plastic tub almost as big as this tank and he’s been enjoying his life for a good 2 1/2 years that’s right! He’s 2!! And he is the best boi ever

Jenna took such great care of Ad. That cage looks like a 50-gallon fish tank, most people give their hamsters tiny cages but she gave him everything he needed. She loved her hamster so much and it's amazing to see a big youtube show people what a cage should be like.
My hamster has a 20 gallon because it's a lot bigger than cages actually meant for hamsters, but bigger aquariums are expensive as hell.

@@Alex-ru3ut well a 20 gal is 360 sq inches, which is below the minimum.. 😒 not tryna be rude or anything but im sure he'd be much happier in something bigger, you can get a 50 gallon bin and cut a bunch of holes in the lid :)
@@catmaddysmom I don't know where you are, but the minimum recommended where I live is a 10 gallon aquarium. Not trying to be rude but he's been fine in his cage for two years, and it's really not any of your business to tell me how to take care of my pets. :)
I think it's interesting how, whenever Jenna's going through a tough time or is feeling tired and makes a video, she does this thankful apology at the end... "Thank you guys so much for just letting me make a regular video sometimes etc. etc..."

The cage was too small however pet stores are mostly to blame as they do not educate people on what hamsters actually need and give the impression they are easy and chilled pets to have where as actually they need time and attention and a lot more space than people realise but Jenna did an amazing job at researching what her Hammy needed and gave him the absolute best life possible
It’s hard though. Not everyone that gets a hamster (or whatever pet) has the money to upgrade their animal’s cage/needs/wants.
I think research should really be done before the pet is purchased that’s why giving pets as gifts isn’t a good idea unless the person receiving the pet has the supplies and has done their research.
I would like her better if she did the research before I think it is messed up that any people don’t do research before.

Yeah. My roomie got flamed for putting our two year old hamster in a clear 20 gallon plastic bin with giant holes put in the lid. Ruby died of old age in her sleep and when roomie vented online people attacked her for not having Ruby in a cage from the pet store... despite every single site we checked outlining it's okay with certain things done.

You cannot prevent a hamster getting suddenly sick, they're not strong against illnesses so at the ned of the day she gave him the best he could get, a wonderful cage and lots of love! So, I was rewatching this today, and I just want to say, you should DEFINITELY get a bearded dragon. You could use the tank you had for ad, and the water dish, the ramp, etc. You would also love bearded dragons. They are like puppies inside of reptile skin. They are the most loving and cuddly reptiles you will ever meet, and they're expected to live 7-10 years. I HIGHLY recommend a baerded dragon to you and Julien if you're looking to expand your pet collection.
I completely agree, I actually just got a hamster a few days ago after my beardie passed. He died young because of a virus that he’d had from the start and I’m heart broken. He was one of my best friends. They can be complex to care for (probably more than hamsters) but they are so worth it! I never thought I’d have such a strong bond with a lizard.
I found my own bearded dragon a couple years ago when we were at Petco. She had a clubbed foot and I wanted her so bad that we got her the next day on Christmas Eve. She was my first ever reptile and I had her for a couple of years, but she sadly passed two years ago from complications with egg binding. Anyways, they are one of the sweetest pets. She would chill on my chest when I was laying down and I would kiss her nose and she would reach out and lick mine. Very strong bond
Or a crested gecko their pretty chill too plus their low maintenance, since Jenna and Julien are always vlogging editing etc plus having 4 dogs to take care of already so I think they’d appreciate something low maintenance. However I agree beardies are great too I had one die young sadly as well :/ I miss him every day- he used to hang with my dog and our chillest cat and they’d chill next to me while I sat with him on my chest, sometimes he’d ride on the dogs back for a bit, he also would perk up when he saw me near his cage. He was jus the sweetest lil thing. Id say both crested geckos/gargoyles or Beardies would be a good choice for her and her lifestyle especially since ads passing- RIP lil Ad🐹💙- but I also think that she can do whatever she wants and I’ll still watch her vids jus hope someday she gets another lil fren again. - ps Hi J&J if y’all read this hope y’all get another smol bean someday, love ur vids guys keep up the good work:). Otherwise random person that stumbled upon this have an amazing day.:)

I love how she says it's over kill as she adds more bedding. When in fact, the more bedding the better for hamsters. They love to burrow under their bedding and it's said they need at least 6 inches of bedding to burrow, the fact she's mixing a bunch of bedding together gives him an amazing layer to burrow in as well as it has different texture to each layer. :3
Yeah. Overkill? Nah, you can never put too much bedding. This is a kiinda decent amount but for proper burrowing she can go with more XD because hammies basically live underground majority of the time

I feel bad for my hamster now....
I bought him two tiny tale cages and connected them but I still feel like its not good enough.... but I'm thirteen and have zero income. I wish I would have saved up for an aquarium but everyone in my family kept telling me that the cages were fine.

I think it's super nice that Ad picked the best time :] He saw his awesome new cage, enjoyed it for a bit, then was content and decided to go. It's not like caged pets get any choice other than when to go, he picked a good time, it was the best time in his life.

Hey Jenna, I have been watching your channel on and off since about 2013. I just want to say I am a huge fan of you and your channel (and your podcast with Julien). I usually don't comment on youtube videos, but today I really want to say thank you. After hearing on the podcast about Julien having rough times I felt really sympathetic for you guys. Obvious I don't know what's going on, but everyone has things to deal with and that can be really hard. I myself found your channel in 2013 after my dad passed away and you were (and still are) always able to make me smile and laugh. Life gets really hard and the internet has always been a great place for me to escape and you are basically the queen of the internet, so it makes sense that I have found a lot of comfort in your channel. Now I am in my senior year of high school and your shenanigans have gotten me through a lot of stuff like pressure and drama from school. My best friend and I love to quote you some of our favorites include: Ooh Hell yeah, aye bb, BUT IM A VIRGO, and stop being nasty. I couple months ago I even bleached and dyed her hair blue and Jenna's Ratchet Salon was our inspiration. I feel so lucky to have someone so fun, sweet, and genuine to look up to for entertainment and in a lot of ways for support too. This moring I found out that my grandpa who has been sick for a long time probably won't make it which of course crushed me, but seeingyou make a "rainforest" tank for ad was so cute and made me inexplicably happy. So I just want to say thank you so so much for everything that you have done for me. Sending lots of love and good vibes to you, Julien, ad, Kermet, Marbles, and Peach!

I really feel for Julien right now. I don't have twitter and I just watched his video. Loss is a really hard thing and I hope he feels a lot of love during this rough time for him. I hope he is able to heal from this difficult experience.
