I was P3 in Race B this week.
I play only in VR with wheel and pedals.
I agree with what you say, we have disadvantages in VR but the immersion is more important. All cars look the same on a flat screen, but jumping from one car to another in VR has a huge impact. That makes it harder for VR racers, but it is also sooo cool. I hope we get a HUD fix in the future, but I'm not using a flat screen, that's for sure.
With a couple of VR updates, they can really raise the bar for VR users!
I hadn’t tried flat screen in a while, couldn’t believe that I was slower! I used to be much faster on the TV. The feel of being in different cars is one of my favourite things in VR, I used to feel as though there was no point in buying different cars as I raced in bumper cam. I will often choose a car based on how nice the view is in VR.
Yeah, it's a great thing about VR with the different feelings each car brings to the table.
I’m in VR using Logitech 293 wheel and pedals. Did really well last week at trial mount and got to mid C rating. This week didn’t race as much but tried to get my qualifying time up there. 2:36.2 was my best using the Lamborghini. Tried catching you Cas, but it wasn’t in the cards for me this week. Was hesitant to jump in a damage my rating so I just kept practicing. Hoping for good races tomorrow and I’ll back in. Cas, love this video showing everyone’s times. It’s fun, brings this community closer and is something to look forward too. Also liked what you talked about regarding having to adjust to each car. So immersive in VR that it does take some time to adjust as I went from the 650S to the Huracan. Will be looking for your times next week. Thanks again for this. ForeVR Racing.

@@thecasualracinggamer struggled this week in Spa for some reason. Crushed trial mountain though. So cool to see my name on this vid in B and C eve though near bottom. Have to start somewhere lol. Hoping you do more of these as I will keep pushing the limits. Tried to come up with clever ID letting everyone know I’m always in VR. ForeVR Racing (Forever). Also using decals on bumper showing PSVR2 Driver. have a stellar week Cas.

Only psv2 for me. Did all the licensens on controller but was talked into getting a wheel, pedals and a playseat challenge. Best decision ever. Added a whole new level of immersion to the game.

After switching to VR a month ago...I'm finally faster then I was on flat. So much so that this week I haven't finished anything under p5 and and even 3 wins. I made A rank at the start of last week and im half way to A+. Granted Spa is one of my tracks😂. I'm just on a G923 as well. So hi lobby VR racing is more then possible. Great lap time this week Cas.

I'm only race on PSVR2 with a DD pro and V3 pedal set but still slow. But having a lot of fun racing in VR. It's still hard for me to do races in the daily's. I'll try to race clean but there are a lot of racers who think different. But I refuse to change my race style to their level. I rather be a C S driver then a B B driver.
Keep clean and consistent, and you'll find yourself moving up. Try to grind qualifying so you can stay up front and away from the mess.
I always sample Race A, B, and C but focus on one for setting my best time trial. This week my main track was C, i made your 14th position. Im on controller and VR. Love the channel, keep up the good work and look forward to comparing times at the next video. Have a great week everyone!

I got a ps5 slim, vr, logitech g923 and gt7 all in one buy in Nov. I’ve never even tried gt7 in flat screen. Daily races are incredible in VR. Absolutely loving it. I’m not playing the game…I’m in the race!

I’m going to send a friend request after I make this comment. Racing in VR and wheel and pedals. 68 years old but loving it. Started at Interlagos this week then switched to Spa. 1:34:003 in Brazil and 2:32:467 at Spa. Didn’t race much online until I got the VR. It’s just so immersive. Wish I had it 40 years ago.

So much love and admiration for those who can race clean n fast in vr, it seems i can do one or the other but almost never both in vr but unless it breaks i won’t have it any other way. I do everything i can to race hard yet clearly above all, i do make mistakes. Great vid!!
When I find myself making mistakes, I just slow down. Being slower and more consistent has given me better finishes than trying to just be fast.

I was 91st on the list. Lol had some rig issues and never got around to fixing it till this week.
Got a decent time so far in the Atlanta Gr4 race this week. Holy heck im enjoying it but definitely hard to shave amy more seconds off.

I appreciate the compliments Cas. I own a PSVR2 but I never use it. I can be just as fast in VR for TT but I'm much slower with other cars around me. Since it's hard to switch back and forth, I gave the VR to my kids and I only use a screen now. I've been on a wheel for about the last year of the GTS era and all of GT7.
Interesting stuff. Is it you just having a better feel for what's around on Flat screen? What view do you use?
@@thecasualracinggamer I use bumper cam. When I'm in VR and cars are bunched together, I'm ~2 seconds slower per lap. Once cars space out I can run normal lap times. I'm just always too tentative because I'm worried about ruining other people's race. If I use a screen, I'm able to be much more aggressive without being reckless.

I was never a race gamer until I got VR2. Tried it flat and find it boring but can't put it down in VR. I've only used a wheel rig set but my mate who also plays VR2 uses a controller and he's as fast as me and faster in some tracks. I love the immersion with VR and wheel set. The HUD could do with at least the option of who's in front and behind and I do find the mirror or centre cam to be not good in some cars but as you say all different and add to the experience.
I tend to concentrate on one daily per week. I did C this week but my time wasn't great. Got a 5th but no podium this week.

Saw myself as 25th in Race A, 86th Race B, 56th Race C, flat screen and controller.
Mostly had fun racing A. Will be switching to wheel soon.

@@thecasualracinggamer I've had a thrustmaster t300 rs gt, but due to lack of space could hardly ever use it. But space has been made available, so getting a wheelstand to live out my dreams.

I always race in VR with a Logitech G29. 18th in A, 15th in B, and 35th in race C. Spa was where I spent most of my time.

Now I play on a big screen in our home theater with surround sound. Also immersive 😊

Great time! You would need to work up your VR legs slowly over time if you get nauseous. That's if you wanted to transition to VR.
Set this weeks race A time in VR with a wheel,that car was so much fun.

Not tested 2D but position wise I'm still a bit off. But like i have said with changes in home life i haven't had the time i had before to push for the top 100 so i really can't tell 🤷🏼♂️. Winter months we'll be able to tell. You'll get a break from me soon I'm on holiday for 2 weeks from the 19th 👍

Hello, I drive with a T248 Wheel and PSVR2. Imposible for me go to flatscreen now. The Formulas in VR were amazing, very disapointing F1 23 no Vr in PS5. Thanks for your videos.

Only advantage of flat is ui.

I race in VR all the time too. I'm certain it's not slower, I just won race A twice in a row at A class, with two or three A+ in there, too, so speed isn't a problem. But I do wish there was the split times, 'cause on longer races it's an issue. I don't understand why they can't add a simplified version to the car's HUD
Oh, I use a DD Pro 8nm and a load cell. I super recommend the load cell brake if you don't have one, pushing hard on the brake deep into braking zones feels awesome, and I think it gives you better sensitivity when you're at low brake pressures for, say, mid corner adjustment

I used motion steering with controller for a while before buying a wheel and pedal set. I play VR like 25 percent of the time mostly due to the isolation that comes with it.

Apart from the HUD lacking information, I find I am faster in VR as I can hit the apexes easier. In saying that, I hardly ever use VR as I get headaches often and it distracts me from putting in good times. So most of 99% of my times are set in flat screen (DD PRO wheel and pedals).
i only play in psvr2, but i also only play on a controller because i dont have the room nor the funds to get a proper wheel and pedal setup. i can still keep up with some of the best but at the same time its very diffucult to do certain things like throttle and break control, its pretty much full break or full throttle all the time unless u press the button rapidly in an act to keep lets say half throttle when coming out of a turn if needed.
also i dont have the same sterring control like a wheel

@thecasualracinggamer i use auto, i never truly learned how to use manual in the game or in a real car for that matter, not saying i didnt try to learn in a real car but couldnt ever get it right, no matter how many times i tried. So i never bothered to learn it in the game
Comprei um G29 a dois meses, estou sofrendo um pouco para me adaptar mas é um caminho sem volta. O volante é mais preciso e responsivo, os pedais ainda não sou tão preciso mas já estou aprendendo.
Minha maior dificuldade é conseguir salvar quando o carro entra em oversteer... Muito difícil ainda pra mim.... No controle era mais fácil.
Em VR eu joguei automobilísta 2, um jogo aqui do Brasil, e muito bom inclusive! Achei incrível a experiência!
Não sei como é em relação ao GT7 mas devem ser próximos.
I think AMS2 is a little harder to drive and less forgiving than GT7.

Pc user here but I can relate with being faster in vr. My quest2 battery quit and had to go back to flat screen and i feel like I am learning it all over.

PSVR2 all the way. Haven’t used my screen since I got it.
It does need more details regarding time diff to the in front and behind positions as this is frustrating especially in endurance races.
Also anyone else unable to see where the speed display is in the Nissan gr3?

No, you dont get ised to it (missing interface). Its just missing informations that you should be able to see and they should do something about it.
I agree we need an update, but currently you either get used to it or not race in VR. I choose to get used to it and race in VR.
@@thecasualracinggamer 1.3k euros just to play a game that underperformed is enough for me to say they should do something about it. Don't promise what you can't or won't deliver - immersiveness.
You should probably stop playing GT7 if you want realism. Try ACC. I don’t know if you can do VR in that though.
ACC on PC has VR but the implementation is terrible.
Nobody runs in cockpit view.. its bumper, hood or chase. I personally use chase on a controller..
I use to. Couldn't stand anything else as it broke immersion for me. Probably why VR was a easy conversion for me.
Chase has to be a little harder then the other views?

I personally find chase easier because i can see around myself alot better, i can see if someone is trying up the inside/outside earlier than in bumper/hood cam. Ive already memorized all lines on every track so i basically muscle memory all breaking/shifting points. Idk?
I’ve run cockpit view only in every racing game I’ve played since Project Gotham Racing 2 around 2007. I refused to even buy games without a cockpit view ever since. Controller or wheel, I go for immersion.
