    I have been on the fence for a long time about getting VR and this Video was the one that convinced me to give it a try and after a week now I don't think I'll ever go back.
    Boy does that VR hit you in the face first time you enter a race 😅
    I definitely experienced motion sickness in the first high-speed corners and drifted off track a couple of times but after 10-15 laps it was gone.
    I'm much better at following close and I'm also saving the car from drifts and spins alot more now.
    And if someone reads this who is not trying to be the best in the world, getting VR is a no brainer! The immersion! Being able to look at the car beside you through corners and dont get me started on open wheel cars OMG 🥴
    Thanks for great video and getting me to jump over to VR. This made me subscribe to your channel, keep up the good work ✌️

    The most obvious thing to me is consistency. I'm IMMEDIATELY more consistent when playing in VR vs flat screen especially because I play cockpit view even on flat screen. VR makes a huge difference

  • @tinyman392
    @tinyman392 3 месяца назад +4

    There are some cars I can’t seem to drive properly on flat screen. Many of the AWD hatchbacks had a tendency to just snap on me before I could react to it either visually (cockpit view) or from the force feedback. In VR, I could visually see the car actually rotate much earlier so I can actually react to the car itself. It also makes side by side racing much easier being able to just look beside you but also utilize the mirrors which are abruptly missing in cockpit view on flat screen. That amount of information that is available for me to react to makes all the difference IMO.

    • @Doughtinator
      @Doughtinator  3 месяца назад +2

      Yes I agree. I’ve noticed I can ‘feel’ a car about to snap a bit sooner in VR.

    Personally, I don’t care which one is the fastest. With PSVR2 I’m sitting in a car that’s closest to real driving, with monitor setup I’m watching a screen doesn’t matter how big or how many.

    My brain couldn't work out the flat screen and apexs. I was a person who would have never played online racing without vr2. When I first got vr, I spent 2 weeks just looking around the cockpit and running into stuff. But after a while playing, I felt more connected to the game. I start finding apexs and winning races, I can only put it down to leaving a flat screen in the past. OH, and make sure you re-callabrate your head set every few days. You complained about the message on the screen. Wait till you vr cant detect you play area and bumps you out of a online race, that one will really ruin your day! Keep up the good work bruz awsome video!

    VR is the only reason I continue playing GT7 and the only reason I invested $2,000 in a direct drive wheel and aluminum rig and racing seat. Without it the game would be collecting dust at this point. Also this morning daily race B it was incredible watching the two cars in front battle while I was following along in VR I felt like I was literally in the race car at the racetrack in my own little world and of course the two fools slowed eachother down and I passed them in the last corner The point being the immersion is second to none.

    Nice video...really enjoyed it.
    Iv had PSVR2 since launch and compared myself in VR v "hood" camera over loads of car/track combos and I'm 100% confident in saying I'm just as fast in VR as flatscreen...interestingly iv had a similar experience to you where going from VR to flat feels really weird for a couple laps, car seems much heavier and understeery initially.
    Wish PD would promote VR a bit more and update the hud...id also love to see the world tour boys have to compete in VR at the live events...the ultimate test of who is best!

    • @Doughtinator
      @Doughtinator  3 месяца назад

      Thanks womble. You’re right. Heavy and understeer is how the car feels when you first switch back to flat!
      I think it’s just because you lose the perception of speed so just go into each corner a bit too hot. 👍🏻

    I got a PS VR2 a couple weeks ago and I'm absolutely in love. The immersion has helped my lap times dramatically. What i would really like to know is how VR compares to a proper 3 screen setup 🤔

    • @markpacker6951
      @markpacker6951 3 месяца назад +1

      I wanted to set up 3 screens, apparently not posseble with out breaking ps5 warranty. For 3 screen set up you need to convert to I-racing or a PC based sim racer

    • @Doughtinator

    Very nice coverage, it is and has remained very tempting. My children and wife were going to buy it for me last birthday. Luckily I accidentally overheard a snippet of the plan and told them that it wasn't quite there yet, at least not for that money. They are far too kind, and I am far too cynical. I am quite positive that there will come a time when both of those complaints have dissipated. When it does I shall be waiting for the store to open. 😊

    You lack allot of UI in VR that can help you drive faster. But if you remove all UI on the flat screen you should be faster in VR when you're equally familiar with both. Mainly because you can judge speed better in VR and you can look into the corner correctly, like you do IRL.
