I've said this from the beginning of PSVR2... If I only had Gran Turismo 7, the investment in PSVR2 would be worth it. (I play with my T300 wheel, three pedals and the stick shift). I'm still blown away to this day. It's a game\set up that could last a lifetime. And (!) no worrying about a broken Sense controller halting playtime! The in headset graphics are pretty darn close, too. A lot closer to the flat screen experience than Drive Club VR on the OG PSVR (and Dirt, too, for that matter). Great shout out Jammy!

I Agree, I have the Thrustmaster T300S GT Edition mounted on a Next Level GT Lite foldable gaming chair with a ButtKicker mounted to add some haptics. It is like owning your own Racing Arcade! I wish they made The Crew Motorfest with a VR mode. I want an open world driving game in VR.

I have the playseat trophy edition with the TGT2 and shifter plus psvr2 and although I have spent quite a bit of cash for my set up I feel in the long run it will save me money. I no longer look at new games GT7 and Resi 4 are all I need.

Agreed, i liked GT7 before but put it down pretty quickly and moved onto other things. Since having PSVR2 i CANNOT put it down. Paired with a wheel as well, im playing it 3-4 times a week minimum. GT7 has gone from a game i didn’t care that much for, to my absolute favourite gaming experience of all time. 10/10 worth every penny

Best way to introduce someone to vr even if they're not in to sim racing is to put the headset on them but you do the driving like they're the passenger, me and the Mrs do this and as long as she looks the way I need to drive its good fun lol, we recommend trying this guys.

funny i spent thousands of $$$ just for GT7... the game that came with my first ps5 bundle that I didn't touch for months until i tried PSVR2... and down the rabbit hole i went... hori RWA wheel and NLR stand lite was first, then to g923 on GT track seat... now i also got TGT2 on wheel stand with sparco 383, sparco handbrake and TH8A with NH8 seat vibration on Xrocker seat with NLR stand 2.0, now i am setting up TSXW build for a FH5 and FMS7 for my xbSx and pc... i spent more than any of my cars 😂... and that is coming from a guy who never played racing games as much and was not into racing sims... I'M NOW ENLIGHTENED THANKS TO PSVR2/PS5/GT7... ❤❤❤ ... Also being a fan of AudiTT, driving 3.2L VR6 Mk2 TT quattro IRL, i enjoyed it more modding all 3 generations of AudiTTs while grinding...

    Yep, its on a console.
Yep, PC hardware is generally higher then consoles.
But for the level of polish and commitment to this the developer has had with this franchise alone over the decades, its something in VR that needs to be experienced to be respected.

I’ve played this solely in VR since its release/update for the platform and I honestly can NOT go back to flat screen racing.
It only took me a few days to match my ‘flatscreen times’ to VR2 - and it’s sooooo much better in every aspect.
There really is no going back once you’ve VR’d.
The only downer is some VGT’s don’t have cockpit views, but even the ‘on the roof’ aspect ratio isn’t bad at all though and is actually beneficial on some tracks.

    • @ShonnDaylee
      @ShonnDaylee 23 дня назад +1

This is what I needed to read. I've just ordered the PSVR 2 (mainly for GT7) and I have been worried about it. I can remember being younger, and getting sick on long car journeys/boat rides, so I figure I'm highly susceptible to this issue. I'm going to get some non drowsy Dramamine, just in case. I've also heard having a fan blowing air on you can help (also wouldn't hurt immersion in open cockpit cars....lol), as well as stopping any time you start to feel queasy and take a break before playing again. Eventually I imagine I'll get used to it. It's important dammit. I've been waiting to play a Gran Turismo game with a wheel and cockpit and VR since the first Gran Turismo game arrived on the scene in the late 90's. Now that I'm THIS close, I have to make this work. Some how. Some way.

I was able to taper it down where I could play without taking it within a month. I cut the pills in half during the 2nd week and went from there. Another good thing is that they work all day and for me I never felt drowsy. Just was sweating while intensely driving. You’re legit in the drivers seat. Looking around to check your mirrors and blind spots like every day driving

Like an over excited dumb ass I have bought just about every single psvr and psvr2 games available. Unfortunately I’m not much up for a work out while I game so I barely play any of them and thought I pissed away 600 bucks. Recently got into this game and I now don’t regret a single decision. I’m not loaded but even with the little money I have I’d pay twice the asking price for the system thanks to this game. The problem is that I’ve sort of fallen into the 825000 a half hour la sarthe grind (audiobooks help) and now have hundreds of millions dollars worth of cars that I haven’t gotten to appreciate or drive yet. It’s astonishing what they have done with the details and if this game was given more dlc track on a regular basis or free roam driving track, I would gladly fork over whatever they asked for a monthly subscription. The option to hover over your cars is also amazing. I love being able to sit in the drivers seat of a luxury car. If I stood within five feet of one of these works of art in real life I’d be arrested. My hopes are low given Sony’s lack of support for the software but I’d give anything for more driving or flying vr sims.

Tried AC (with PS plus extra subscription) on my PSVR2 with a normal controller, with the screen blown up to simulate a pseudo VR driving experience, and found it quite rich. So I dove in and got GT7 and a G29, and let's just say, it's not a game changer; it's a life changer.
I still don't enjoy driving/racing on a flat TV screen; flat screen and VR racing might as well be two different subcategories in racing/driving gaming.

To be clear, GT7 in VR isn’t for EVERYONE, so I think that you’re right to wait until it seems worth the exploratory risk. After that it’s easily worth whatever price your budget allows for.
I haven’t enjoyed any racing games since PS2 days, and they were the more arcade types, never the more sim type of the GT series. GT in VR changed that for me, because it is hands-down one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had in fifty years. It’s like science-fiction.
Something to be aware of is that the DualSense Controller can be used like a small, gyro-tracked, virtual wheel. Basically you hold it out in front of you and pantomime with it. It gives you more subtle control than twiddling a thumbstick ever could.
The haptics and adaptive triggers also gives you more information about the road surface that you might expect.
Finally you can also remap any button so things like windshield wipers and shifters are where makes sense to you, and it all works FAAAAAR better than it should.
Incidentally, you will NOT be comparing it to any other racing game you’ve ever played, rather you will instantly compare it to your IRL driving experiences. In this regard you’ll also anticipate - and miss - the accompanying g-forces of real life (especially when you brake hard into a turn).
As expensive as the cost of the AAA game might seem to anyone used to smaller studio VR game prices, after playing in VR with the DualSense for a while you just might start saving for a force-feedback wheel.
That will also seem extravagant (even a used G29 will probably seem expensive), but it adds to the immersion in a way that cannot be described.
I watched for a price cut for months before finding a wheel on discount at $200, but that jumped to $300 when I included a metal stand. Pricy!! I worried it was a monstrous waste of money right up until I started using it…
…and then all that sense of foolishness evaporated.
The hype surrounding GT7 in VR is based on lived experience and profound love by many for what this thing does when in the headset. I would never *think* to play it on flatscreen, but - as a dyed-in-the-wool VR gamer - I couldn’t imagine *not* playing it on PSVR2.
      So… FWIW.

the only disappointment, is PD have not updated at all since launch... which is a shame as there are a few minor, but quite important 'issues', most notably the current race details not being available on the MFD. its fine for shorter races, but for endurances races you really have little idea whats going on in the race.
(IRL teams have either radios or pit boards to give information to their drivers...) - it seems like a small thing to add, but seems PD have no interest in updating the VR2 implementation :(

Main thing I want them to update is the option to remove the damn virtual grid that pops up if your head moves a little too far to the right left or forward. It's hands down my biggest issue with the game as it is something that irritates me in almost every race. I just always instinctively tilt my head when I'm taking a sharp turn and that stupid grid has messed me up countless times. It's probably there to diminish motion sickness or to prevent you from leaving the playing area but there should be an option to get rid of it if you want to. I remember in Drive Club you could lean out through your door and have your head inches from the ground if you wanted to.

@@Muz__27 I think you are talking about the sony boundary. It is too small, I lean a little bit forward when setting it and that works for me. It is annoying. If you have a 7ft by 7ft space, it is better to set your boundary to that.

I wish more people would say that graphics in VR mode are not as good as in flat. Usually most reviewers/content creators say that it is, but as you've said yourself, it isn't. It's beautiful, but it's not as good as flat, period.
If you're a VR user for a long time, you know what to expect out of VR2, more or less. But if you've never had VR experience before, you might have expectations that simply cannot be met by current level of technology.

Honestly it's impressive we've even gotten to this point, if you know the mechanics behind how VR works and what makes it tick, the graphics only become more impressive, even when they're objectively worse than flat screen.

@iansantiago6526 no doubt. Please don't take my comment as criticism. I'm super happy with the level of graphical fidelity in GT7 VR. I just wish more content creators were truthful. When I said about exaggerated expectations, I spoke from experience - VR2 was my first headset and I was kind of disappointed to notice that graphics always differ from social screen captures.

@@ArturKwaszyn Oh not at all man! I agree with you! I'm just saying if people understood the technology better, it becomes abundantly clear why modern VR graphics are as impress as they are. And Psvr2 isn't the peak either, it's just the best value for your money. And yes I do believe it is the best value, even better than quest 3. But that's really up to your preferences.

I kind of agree, though, I think this point is true of all VR/PSVR2 titles... I remember when I first got the PSVR2 and was disappointed in its clarity.
but for sure you get used to it, and then appreciate that whilst the resolution/refresh rates is not that high, on good psvr2 titles, it makes up for it with the colours and depth perception.
( Id also say the other vr disappointment, is the lack of depth of gameplay in so many titles compared to flat... thankfully, GT7/NMS are the exception to this!)

Vr2 was the most amazing thing in video games, and im 48 year old.
But the low Resolution and reprojection kills it for me over time.
But i hope for Playstation pro 90 native and no reprojection 😊
