The Cubs had been accused of stealing signs, as had the Red Sox, from their scoreboards for decades. MLB couldn’t ban all the players involved with illegal sign stealing because there wouldn’t be enough teams left to play a season. Multiple current and former MLB players have said the Astros were not the only team doing it. Hence the light punishment and the lack of investigation into other teams
In a sport where the all-time great hitters are reveared as greats for literally failing 6/10 times. It's not at all unreasonable to do anything to try and close that gap the pitcher inherently has.

Ben Haney-Well, you know as well as I do that the 1951 Giants cheated by stealing signs from opposing catchers, which is how they were able to erase a 13.5 game deficit to the Brooklyn Dodgers. If the Giants had cheated from the season's outset, Bobby Thomson would have been lost to history. What I never understood was how the Giants lost that year's World Series to the crosstown Yankees.
The dark blues? That sounds like a good team name. What is strange, is red sox or worse yet white sox. Cincinnati reds is normal. If a team came out with gray briefs or orange t shirts. That would be considered ridiculous. White Sox? There really isn’t anything more dull.
Also MLB has the strongest players Union if they tried to punish those three teams for sign stealing it would be a long process, but also teams would rat on eachother and it would be a shit show.
No Rose had a sweet heart of a deal. That would have paid off his gambling debts, kept him out of prison, and eventually let him in. His book release screwed that up. Rose lied for years about his gambling. Rose is why Rose is not in. That does not let MLB off the hook for all of its integrity problems tho. For me if Rose released public statement saying he apologizes for his behavior and thinking he was above baseball I would be good with him getting in.
No one comes to watch a defesive baseball game. Im a big McGwire fan and i will honestly say that i dont care what he did, his homers were amazing. And thats why i watched ball games. The balls went out..the money came in. No one was hurt and everybody had a good time. The McGwire/Sosa fiasco was the best. So who cares about steroids. I dont ever remember seeing Hank Aaron in a weight room or anyone from that time. A bar with a drink maybe, but not doing what McGwire had to do to get that big.
The Red Sox didn't get penalized? For what? The Red Sox haven't won a World Series since and they were exonerated for that. They won in 2018 for the same reason Houston won last year, both teams were stacked. The Red Sox had a rotation of Chris Sale and David Price and Houston had Justin Verlander and Framber Valdez. Cora was also very popular with the players. Also, the Astros have been in the Fall Classic 3 out of 4 times since.
I propose a steroid era committee or let the fans vote. Who else should be in the hall? McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Clemens, Palmeiro, A-Rod? Obviously. But who else?
OK, SOMEONE ANSWER ME THIS. IF STEROIDS MAKES YOU STRONG ENOUGH TO HIT HOME RUNS, WOULDN'T EVERY FLY BALL THESE GUYS HIT BE A HOME RUN. ITS LIKE SUPERMAN OR THE HULK BATTING. EVERY FLY BALL THEY HIT WOULD GO WAY OUT OF THE BALL PARK. ROIDS ALONG WITH HITTING THE WEIGHTS HARD HELPS YOU BECOME STRONG BUT DOESN'T GUARANTEE HOME RUNS UNLESS YOU HAVE SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH WHICH THESES GUYS DIDN'T HAVE.
Pointless. A sport that changes the ball to generate more runs tries to all of a sudden point out "cheaters".. if you'd like I could go on listing other examples of MLBs double srabdard. it's ironic that MLB points out these guys cheated and should be suspended or were suspended without pay. The irony again is the money the leagues made off these "cheaters" isn't given back to the fans. MLB isn't about players, fans or whatever. It's about cash ? I think you get my point..
I'm not accusing anybody my question is and it's not related to baseball or Sports what about LL Cool J? I believe he was in the movie Beat Street and I know he was young and he was super super skinny and now he's super yoked and I'm not saying he took steroids but he's pretty yoked and that could be just from working out extremely hard I was just curious about it not a big deal
Here's my take on steroids. All they do is help build muscle mass. It doesn't help you with accuracy as a pitcher nor does it help you "hit them where they ain't" as a batter. There are plenty of examples of players who used PED's who were mediocre at best(they mention Antonio Bastardo who I call Blowstardo because of his penchant to blow saves). So in baseball you have to have some skills. Now it's different in football as it's a contact sport and a speed sport where hitting a round ball with a round bat isn't the object of the game and all you have to do is get the ball and run. So, IMO, since steroids doesn't make you a good baseball player I think players like McGuire, Clemens, and others should be in the hall of fame.
Those who cheated By taking PEDs made for great Baseball for the Fans. I have trouble Shunning those players but cheating stealing signs and using electronics I have no respect for. If they had a league where PEDs were ok. I think MLB would fold! Just my opinion
New York, too. They did it for two full seasons and actually cheated against the Astros in 2015 but lost the wild card anyway. Makes you wonder if cheating actually helped 🤔
Androstenedione was 100% legal and advertised constantly from 1997 until it was banned, it was pretty low grade; the maximum result would be one 5mg steroid tab equivilent (possibly the kind you need 50mg to get a result.) The 'Diol' variety was 3x as good, but still nothing special. I think they may have used it, but the results couldn't be as good as they got. However, 36 is not "old" or 'past ones prime' (outside of football, which tears up most people.) 35 is in the prime of one's adult life, that's when they start making money (outside of athletes and other celebs), it's the end of the first quarter of a working career (25-65, a decade per quarter.) I think the only reasons that's not the prime of one's life is if they eat junk or if they tear up their body, baseball isn't quite that bad; but it is pretty hard (pitcher and catcher get some pretty bad damage, I'd see a chiropractor after each game from swinging that bat.) With proper chiropractic care, a baseball player is in his prime at 36 like Bonds was when he hit 73 homers.
I agree. while i am not good enough to be in the mlb. I am almost 36 and in probably the best playing condition since i was 20. Workout, diet and good body care can go a long way. Oh and im still clocking a 4.6
36 is not a hitters prime, that's nonsense. It could be late prime for some people but you're not gonna be Alot better than you were at 28 suddenly at 36. Now pitchers are a different story. Great pitchers are often still great, and have some of their best years at 34, 35, etc. Randy Johnson peaked at 38, Schilling peaked at 34 - 37. Clemens 33-35, Kevin Brown, 34,35 , Smoltz had 2 of his best years at 39, 40.
Stealing signs isn’t cheating, it’s part of the game. That’s exactly why the pick their nose, twist their nipple, scratch their knee, grab their balls and give a raspberry just to let the batter know to take a pitch. All teams in all sports try to steal the other teams signs or plays.

Bobby Thompson: “I didn’t look at the sign on THAT pitch...”
What BS.
@@kevinmiller6380you can steal signs but not using your cell phone to watch broadcasts of the game you're in to do it. Come on man dont be stupid
As a Red Sox fan Cora got what he deserved.
Good video
…and MLB turn a blind eye and made billions!
Funny how people will just lie and lie and lie and lie and lie, with the assumption they can always admit the truth and people will tell them it's ok.
Where is the proof of the A's throwing the World Series to the Boston Braves? You need more than suspicion to make this allegation.
Cicotte has a silent E. 'See-cott'.
Why don't you have a silent mouth?
@@TheBatugan77 my mouth had nothing to do with typing a response, genius.
Anyone who failed a test is out. Anyone who didn’t is in. It’s not that hard to do
...and then Fernando Tatis Jr got "ringworm".

OK…. maybe I made a bad joke Jenifer….😝

Not Canseco. He was upfront from the beginning.

See the steroids is a power thing but you still need to hit a tiny ball with split second decision. It's bs.
I didn't know Napoleon did baseball videos.
I put you on 1.25x and it was still too slow
It’s not cheating to steal signs unless you are using like electronics or shit like that... Binoculars? Borderline...
Baseball isn't a game totally about fairness when you think about it. When was the last time the A's won the series?
I'm not accusing anybody my question is and it's not related to baseball or Sports what about LL Cool J? I believe he was in the movie Beat Street and I know he was young and he was super super skinny and now he's super yoked and I'm not saying he took steroids but he's pretty yoked and that could be just from working out extremely hard I was just curious about it not a big deal
His head got bigger too but i dont think its from roids
Everyone cheats these players are put under tremendous pressure to perform most people just don't understand that!
Should've have been forced to forfeit WS trophy and MLB shouldve called WS no game. 2017 no winner
What about the Yankees and that envelope?
Here's my take on steroids. All they do is help build muscle mass. It doesn't help you with accuracy as a pitcher nor does it help you "hit them where they ain't" as a batter. There are plenty of examples of players who used PED's who were mediocre at best(they mention Antonio Bastardo who I call Blowstardo because of his penchant to blow saves). So in baseball you have to have some skills. Now it's different in football as it's a contact sport and a speed sport where hitting a round ball with a round bat isn't the object of the game and all you have to do is get the ball and run. So, IMO, since steroids doesn't make you a good baseball player I think players like McGuire, Clemens, and others should be in the hall of fame.
you could be a decent hitter of fly balls but you take peds and suddenly they're going over the fence. that's exactly what was happening.
Enough at this point no one gives a shit that they where juiced
Fuck that leave my Red Sox alone
Can we take Mountain Landis out the HOF??

Those who cheated By taking PEDs made for great Baseball for the Fans. I have trouble Shunning those players but cheating stealing signs and using electronics I have no respect for. If they had a league where PEDs were ok. I think MLB would fold! Just my opinion
Baseball should've stripped Houston, they failed the game.
New York, too. They did it for two full seasons and actually cheated against the Astros in 2015 but lost the wild card anyway.
Makes you wonder if cheating actually helped 🤔
2015 yankees cheated

"Changed the sport forever." How?
It was Flaxseed Oil!!
