If I owned that yacht I'd spare no expense when it comes to making the chef happy. Eating has to be 30-40% of the fun travelling and vacationing on a yacht.
Completely agree, and I think you can apply the same logic to everyday life. Growing up my mom would always say the one thing she didn't mind spending more money on was good food. You'll be happier and healthier for it in the long run!
that boat has been featured on several channels, and always in a positive light by its crew, no below decks drama. Owner obviously hires well. Thanks to them for letting us see the interiors and learn about how superyachts work. Very generous of them.
Fun! Just some professionals goofin around in a massive Yacht. This is why I love your content, it’s informative and detailed but somehow you keep it light. Cheers!
An artist can certainly do art with anything... but give them the right tools and the right place to work and you have chef d'oeuvre every time... yummmmmmmmm.
Thanks Nina and Brennan for this three parter, great to see how the refit of the galley went. Also love the scallop dish, the guests will be well fed when the boat is back in the water.
Nina's videos are a delight, well presented and good relationships. They also help me appreciate the skill involved, particularly in this high end cheffing.
It’s so awesome to get to see this refit. It looks amazing. I need to check out Chef’s page. I fell in love with Arience when Jared Whatney made his crew life videos on board.
I was crushed when I saw the ring on her finger I’m 65 but thought maybe there might be hope lol I started with what they called a 6 pack went on to get my 100 ton and then got my masters license it’s just amazing what yachts have become I think the biggest I ever captained was @ 175 ‘ back in the 80’s thank you for the vids always make me smile
Great final video of this Galley refit on the great M/Y Arience. Loved the banter between you two. You both seem like genuine friends and professionals. I miss being on boats (ships) and knowing how efficient and creative you have to be at organizing your space (the crockery cabinet). I have a ton of questions but can't think of any. Look forward to more video from you, Nina, and Brennan!
wannabe, you nailed it. Neither Nina or myself get nervous in front of the camera and we're friends so we're exactly ourselves or we'd make fun of whoever was being weird. I get anxious just thinking about not having a job on a yacht.
Wow, this is an awesome refit.. In fact, a total morph!! I always wondered how Brennan, being such a big guy, got into chef business!! Then, it suddenly came to my mind while reading a book.. Warriors don't want wars, they want peace!! This guy is awesome.. Subscribed to his channel too.. Loads of love from India to both of you!!
S Gudur! Thanks for that! I do want peace but I'm oddly comfortable in chaos. I rode through NE India a few years ago. Darjeerling and Nagaland headed Myanmar.
@@OliveOilandGasoline Unfortunately, I have no passport.. I am getting one.. Then, I will be all ove the sailing community... Hehehe... I am damn good cook.. But, if you need, you can always email me...
@@OliveOilandGasoline Big guys never hurt!! They are good ones! Well, you could have come to Southern India... You can learn so many dishes here... Well, in case I start a cooking channel, I will send you a link... I got a plan !!
I enjoy cooking different cuisines. It's fun to experiment and challenge myself. However, the best part is making the food just as pretty as hopefully it tastes. Even something as basic as a hamburger. Simple dinnerware is the best. Good and pretty food doesn't need any competition.
I so agree about the plating on certain crockery... We have Hermes Mosaic Au Gold 24 on one of our jets... and yeah, its not as bas as the panther or the red one, but still, try to make the food look nice and you have all this bright orange and gold everywhere... Sometimes the simple things make the biggest impact.
The standard in yachting is a baffling one. Usually the yacht designer picks something really arty and expensive so he can get his markup and pad the pocket a bit more. Then the chef comes on board and is horrified. But the plates are so damn expensive they can't get rid of them. Classic new build move.
@@OliveOilandGasoline Yep. Absolutely. All these decisions benefit someone in the end! Other problem with all these fancy china patterns is care… Our Hermes can’t go through the dishwasher, neither could our previous one… Good job us, like your good selves, have Asbestos hands 🤣
Some great upgrades! Hope these make your life easier! Ty for all the videos, I've learnt so much from watching your journey! Keep it up! Can't wait to see where you go next :)
I’m in my early 50s. When I was a child in elementary school we were informed that we were going to learn the metric system because the United States was going to convert. As you are aware, we didn’t convert and we weren’t taught the metric system.
I'm a home cook, and I use paper plates. Part of it is laziness, but I like that it forces me to try to make something look good without the help of the vessel.
Brennan knows we Americans are genetically incapable of converting Metric in our heads. The galley looks terrific! The scallops looked awesome! Love from Vermont
@@coryplattner4743 Love you too! What units did the Apollo program use? The Apollo Guidance Computer did use metric/SI units internally for its calculations. But it converted to imperial/USC units when it displayed data on the DSKY. This is probably because the Apollo astronauts (mostly trained as test pilots) had an intuitive "feel" for imperial/USC units. Patriotism should be separated from measuring things accurately and using the figures quickly in multiples of ten.
Top and bottom sprayers can fit an unfolded 60cm x 40cm crate. Boom! I'm so stoked to have that thing and at the same time concerned why I have these emotions.

Little more videos regularly personality/adventure and fun is the key you have most of that. It could grow to level like "life uncontained" channel easily if you wanted that. Keep it up.

Below decks drama is only on tv.... not in the real world. So not surprising to not see it.
I absolutely agree, great owners that are very open minded to what social media inside of yachting might become in the future.
@@JCrook1028 I'd say that there is normal human drama like any other workplace but nothing like what gets scripted on Below Deck.

The box wine moment i almost spit out my drink... hilarious! Absolutely hilarious.

It's fun but it's pretty damned hectic, competitive, stressful with really long hours. That's why I've been doing it for 20 years 😂
