- About a year ago I did my first Panama Canal transit! This is a video repost from then - and it was all smooth sailing thanks to the brilliant Pilots and Crew that run the canal.
Special shout out to Captain Ryan for the amazing timelapse footage from the mast deck!
You've easily become one of my favorite channels this past year. You're so good at filming, you're a natural RUclipsr, and you've got a unique take on the world through your career. Thanks for another great upload.
Just found this! Excellent
When you post a new 'The Crew Chef' video it just makes me smile. I enjoy you and your stories so much. Once again I'll tell you that YOU should do a digital cook book. Absolutley. Absodamnlutley you should!
Ja, mir gehts genauso. Immer wieder tolle Videos mit einer tollen Frau.👍
This is a record breaking channel. 164 subscribers with only 27 videos I believe this is one of the more successful channels I have seen all videos at least 10 times and I do look forward to watching her she’s multi talented and I wish she was my personal cook.
@@renodowns5256 There were more videos previously, but she had to remove them at the request of her ex-employer. She has to reassemble them to remove all mentions or images of the name of the ship. This video is a reassembled video.
ditto
it's a re-post lol
Impossible not to like this channel, such clean editing, drone footage and of course interesting content. Well done chef!
Been through the canal several times and this is still fun to watch. The engines on the side of the canals are called mules and in pre google days it was often the case that new crew were asked to keep some carrots to feed the ‘mules’.
Missed seeing you Chef! Awesome to see you & Tilly again! ❤️😬🤙🏾
Thanks for showing my country in such a beautiful way!
I’m so happy you are getting to re-post these amazing videos. Still curious why an owner wouldn’t appreciate the wonderful exposure you bring the yachting scene.
Keep up the awesome work! Can’t wait to see you on another vessel.
Privacy pure and simple. Folks with wealth don’t like to proactively advertise themselves. Folks may see the boat or private jet but obtain no clue as to its owners or operators
It’s an intrusion, it’s an invasion of privacy by an employee who should know better.
@@Sandhoeflyerhome not it’s not she has the permission of the owner and crew within agreed guidelines so stop talking rubbish. If permission is granted how please explain is it an intrusion of privacy 🤔🙄🫣
Sounds like the owner spat their dummy out with her leaving her job
This reminds a bit of my time on an aircraft carrier. Everyone on the flight deck was involved in a dance to allow pilots to take off and land. Pilots on the sea as well everyone else help navigate ships through the canal safely. To me it looks like a carefully choreographed dance.
Yep, things like this are technical dances, not artistic dances.
This was so fun to watch. I can’t wait to finally be onboard as crew and one day get to experience the canal. My grandma was born in Panama! She was an incredible person
Hi I went through the Panama Canal in 1971 on a P&O cruise ship called the Oronsay and we used to tell the passengers to keep their bread to feed the Donkeys. That was the nickname for the engines that pull us through. Thanks for bringing some great memories. Glad I found your channel. Tony
Went through in 95 east to west on a Brit warship. A memory I will always treasure 😎
I was stationed at Ft. Clayton, on the Pacific side. Our 4 plex had a perfect view of the locks. Thanks for the memories!!
It's crazy to see how many workers it takes on each vessel just to get across the locks!
Looking through what is You Tube offering to watch and walllla TheCrewChef The Panama Canal shows up. Well I had to watch and definitely loved it. Now that you are on MY LOON you've got to get CPC to cross the canal when he on this side of the OCEAN. Keep them coming NINA
You have to be the most likeable person on earth. God bless you.
Watching your channel is like watching Downton Abbey, love seeing you and your travels.
How is it like watching Downton Abbey which is set in early 20th Century England? Odd comment.
Downtown Abbey?
Well done - I think you captured that really well. I went through there as a line handler for Mothership Adrift sailing channel (?50ft yacht) in April this year (2022) and it was a wonderful experience - though for us it took 2 days and I had a lovely night sleeping on deck under the moonlight on the central lake. All the best for your continuing adventures and please keep making the great videos :)
I love your videos. Very well explained and entertaining. Thank you very much.
Absolute happiness to travel with you, inspiring and brings some hope in my life… everything seen thru your life brings a different dimension of adventure anyone could have if they came out the life’s bubble most of us have and never step out of.. may I start travelling soon.. 😊 THANK YOU
Awesome video
Watching ships go through the canal never gets old. At the Mia Flores (last lock) there is an observation deck with a restaurant where you can have dinner and watch the ships go through.
I love watching boats go thru the Panama Canal. They actually have a webcam there at the locks. Great video thanks!
Spectacular filming - especially the speeded-up sections through the locks! Thanks for sharing…
Such an epic experience! I love the engineering and history of the canal.
Wow, this was amazing to watch.. never in my lifetime ( which I’m at the later stages of,👵🏻) would I ever get the opportunity to go through the Panama Canal but now I have 👀🖥📷 …. thank you so much for doing this from another Aussie.
Why do I feel like I’ve seen this before ? Enjoyed it again 👍
Thanks for showing us the Panama Canal! Wow. So interesting and I hope to go thru it someday. Love watching your channel. I am a retired chef (30+ years) and would still love to hop on and cook someday. Thanks for showing us the pilots too. Love to see them jumping on and off with ease and bringing boats out of their area. Xo
I had no idea that it took so long to go through. Thanks for sharing.
That was really great to see, thank you!...........I am in awe of the engineering that it took to build that, and what it takes to get thru it and to keep it going efficiently. Amazing!!!!!
I was thinking the same thanks 😊 ....
It was so scenic seeing the sailing through with ms Nina especially the evening part when they got westside ....
Always exciting to watch vessles pass thru the Panama canal, what an amazing real-life experience this would be. Thanks for sharing 🤙😎
I really love your choice of BG music even before with your old deleted videos. Very chill and relaxing.
What Fun! Your positive attatude and smiles are so infectious. What a treat to have your vid pop up on the feed. You are such a wonderful person.
WOW! Amazing footage! Thank you SO MUCH for filming your transit through the Panama Canal. Not only is your filming of the movement of the Yacht through the Canal Gates incredible, but all of the detail that you narrate for us. THANK YOU! Awesome Job!❤❤
This was interesting. I always thought it was surrounded by hilly jungle because all those people died from mosquitos trying to dig it the first time. But with the cloudy day it actually looks like any canal in Netherlands. That loch system is quite impressive!
Top comment indeed. I felt all the same
Thanks for sharing. I watched the first time you posted and actually looked up how that canal works after.
Thanks so much for letting me relive the experience! I've been through twice (once on an Army LCM and once on a cruise ship) and each time was spectacular!
What an excellent experience! Thank you for sharing❤
A man a plan a canal Panama. Haha. We used to always say that when we were kids. It's the exact same backwards.
Always love your content Chef. Greetings from Chicago!
The joy of watch you and the adventure you show us is fantastic.
Great video Nina! That canal is such a cool experience!!!
Yay, Tilly is there. Hoping to see you two working together in the kitchen again, I love the two of you together. x
Done that trip through, in a cruise ship! Totally fascinating experience!
You've become one of my wife's and my favourite channels. Haven't been on the Panama canal, but grew up on the Welland canal and worked as a deck hand on the tugs. Been through many times. Unfortunately never had those mules and it was up the deck hand at the front and back to handle the ropes. Definitely a workout for the day
Great to see this video back on the channel! Fun interview with the local pilot too!
That is a truly amazing world you occupy.
A delightful video and gorgeous views.
Wow you must feel soo lucky to get to see and do all these things. So cool! Keep it up!
what a wonderful experience! I would love to do that one day! I have only ever used just one dock at St.katherines dock at London and that was great fun! I can well imagine what this must have been like for all you folks ! Even if one has done it three times LOL 😜🤣🤣😉
This never gets old, thank you.
Flag etiquette is fascinating to me. I love that courtesy flag!
You fill my life with soo much joy....
👍☑ Love it even re-posted! Tks Nina
I live on land😂 so your videos take me out on the water, I’ve never seen the panima camel before so thank you for sharing and your crew members are so cheerful much appreciated! More please!
It’s ridiculous how quickly you became one of my top tier channels that I always check first for something I haven’t seen yet!
For me anyway, the vast majority of American tv is absolute repetitive, derivative garbage. It’s personal channels like this that excite, entertain & enlighten that’s my “must see tv”!
Thanks and God bless your generous soul sharing all of this with us! 🙏❤️👊💥🥂
I love this video. Thank you very much for posting this.
small train facts segment was a great touch.
Lochs are so interesting. Excellent upload Nina.😘
Thank you for all your videos. Love them all
Really interesting to watch. SV Delos went through a while back and posted about it too. Bet it was amazing experience. A lot of history in the making of it!
This video is bananas Nina, you rock, you're a superstar now! It has everything, plus you!
Thank you for another cool episode. Crossing the Panama Canal has been on my bucket list for eons! I need to change that!
Very interesting video, thank you for sharing, love your channel !
That was a great vlog. I spotted a rainbow as you zipped through the lake. Thanks for an enjoyable vlog
The donkeys pull you through the canal. Great channel. I work offshore so to degree appreciate your lifestyle
They don't. Ships move forward under their own power and they are just there to ensure the ships stay centered and don't damage anything.
This was really fun, seeing more of life on board. This channel is becoming one of those, got to watch it first ones for me, keep it up Nina :)
Just binge watched all your videos please post more!!
I went through on a USN ship in 1986 (in July hot hot) and for whatever reason the sound of the tow trains has always stuck with me. It's an all day affair :-)
So surprised to see the mules. I had assumed they helped our Panamax ship only because we had a foot clearance on either side. I guess everyone gets the mules! Awesome video. I could do that cruise over and over it’s so fascinating
I did do an excursion where we went through two of the locks in a little two deck tour boat and I don’t recall mule assistance. Hmmm
So cool to this! I've binge watched your other videos of cooking and traveling and look forward to your next. Thanks!
Used to live there. I could watch the shops go through the canal from my condominium. It is fascinating.
So interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Please upload videos more frequently, you are favourite youtuber
Great to see this video re-uploaded. I really liked this crew, especially the chief officer, he's dreamy!!! 😍🤣💍
Also I know that stews are busy in the down time between charters so it's funny to see them hanging out on deck. I wonder if the chief stew was like trying to get them back to work or leading them in lounging about?!?!? 🤣
I have only been to Panama once and didn't get a chance to go through the canal. We flew in and met up with the USCGC Stratton on the west side of the canal and headed out into the Pacific.
Wondering what it cost to get that yacht through the Canal, simply marvelous video. You do a good job, Nina.❤❤❤
Awesome drone work and music too!
this was so interesting! I never realised the canal was contructed like this and now I would love to experience it!
Amazing vids love them ❤
Very cool! From other comments I guess I'm late to your channel but these great vids are all new to me so ...Thank You!!
Your vlogs are so interesting. I don't want them to end!
That was both fun and educational!
I was the Navigator on a US Navy ship for 6 Panama Canal crossings. Every part of the process appears to be the same -- but we had a much tighter fit in the locks.
Goodness. I have watched a few videos about the Panama Canal, but I have never seen it from the ship's point of view. The million dollar locomotives were new to me, and I now have a mind picture of the winch jamming as the water level drops, and the 5000 ton ship pulls said locomotive into the canal. That could ruin someone's day.
Something new for me. Thanks Nina.
Great Video !
Nice. I went through the canal last year on M/Y Bella
Cooooooool!! That amazing. Great video!
You do an incredible job as a chef and producing this channel!🤗😎
My fav channel!
Great video 🥳
Interesting fact about the Panama Canal - Due to the geography of Central America, the Panama Canal actually goes much more north-south than it does east-west!
Youy make my life so happy Mis
Neena...
Miss spell
Just discovered your chanel and already a fan. Love your vibe!
Thanks for sharing this!!
Great vid 💯🇵🇦🌎
Wow how awesome ..
This was pretty cool. Thank you.
You've done an amazing blurring job on this video and also on the other ones you had to re-post! I produce videos too, and therefor know that it's not always as obvious and simple as it sounds. Thanks for taking time to re-edit those videos for us!
Dearest Nina
You make me soo happy to watch you ...
Thank You.
