    Thanks for this tutorial, Will!
    I really enjoy you trying out different things and not just showing us a polished or highly cut version of a video. It is reassuring.
    One small thing is, I would've liked to see your rendered image in the end :)

Muchas gracias por tu gran ayuda y por la gran calidad de tus videos .!!!

    We like when Will is breaking bad. Interesting to see if you can 3d paint on some spaghetti noodles and sauce to make that sponge look as if one just scrubbed the sauce pan after dinner.

      Lol, gross! I read a horrifying statistic recently about how much bacteria lives in kitchen sponges... kinda made me want to never use one again. 😂

    How about the sponge material being more circular, then scale the object in the Y get a few of those oval spots. I guess you maybe tried this. Great material creation anyhow.

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  2 года назад

      That may have worked. I did run into the issue where recalculating the geometry node overrode the scaling of the object.

  • @forrestgump2114
    @forrestgump2114 2 года назад +5

    You need a pc powered by a BMW engine to render a sponge 🧽 !!

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  2 года назад +4

      On the contrary! If you see what I did in this tutorial, the spongey material is just a plastic. The framerate is higher on this scene than in quite a few of my other tutorials. If you use scattering medium, that would be heavier for sure.

  • @brezovprut4431
    @brezovprut4431 Год назад

    How would you do glass wool building material?

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  Год назад +1

      Honestly, I'm not really sure. That's not something KeyShot's really been made to render. The closest thing I can think of is using a scattering medium material with a density texture to get it to look more like the material you're referncing. But My guess is your results would not match your expectations given the limitaitons of that material in KeyShot.

      Not enough information... what about it isn't working. Are you using CPU or GPU mode and does it 'not work' in both modes? Which version of KS are you using?

    I think product designers who also the rendering aspect of things should learn Houdini. So much that one can do in it as compared to just Keyshot.

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  2 года назад

      Houdini is a great tool, but from my experience, very few people can justify the time to pick it up and work it into their day-to-day depending on their other responsibilities.

    how to make animation with this?

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  10 месяцев назад

      Animate the displacement? It's possible if you use curve fade node and plug it into the displacement height. You'll need to adjust the values in the curve fade to fade between the two values you wish to animate.
