    Anybody who wants to try this method must be aware of its limitations. Do not use it for BIG fish it will all end in tears! It is best used at close range for small/medium fish. If you have a longer whip of 6 mtrs plus it can be used on bigger rivers and the longer length of line will help land bonus bream, chub etc. I have used it on canals to great effect often at just 2 or 3 mtrs with either a tiny feeder or a link ledger, catching loads of skimmers,gudgeon,roach and perch. I do the equivalent to whip fishing very often here in the US.. it works for fish under about 4 lb for me, fish like calico bass, opaleye and rock wrasse.. subscribed, much luck and success to you, look forward to future videos..

      Easy Fishing I got a 20ft(about 6 meters/metres?😁)glass pole, tested for 18lbs test. These are standard here and come in 10, 12 or 13, 16 and 20ft. What I like about the British pole tho, is that you can remove the top section for closeup work which allows you to use shorter line. With an American(actually made in China)or Japanese pole the line has to be proportionate to the overall length of your pole. But they can take punishment tho. The old lady even hooked(On her 13 footer) a large snapping turtle on 10lbs test line and brought it in. Fiberglass takes a licking and keeps on ticking(like Timex)but it is a little heavier, that's why most people use the 13 footers here.😁👍👍

    Great video Bill i not long replied to a comment you made on another video and i was going to ask you in that when your next video will be and i saw this so a nice treat. Thats a pretty cool method looks perfect for fishing narrow streams for the smaller fish. I may give this a go one day with my 4m whip i know of at least one small stream not far from me, in fact i used to always go down there when i was little and i've seen some good fish in there. Will be like a trip down memory lane havent been down there for years, your videos and this one in particular has made me think of going there.
    Great stuff and hope to see more videos from you soon, take care and tight lines.

    Nice one Bill. I use this method on my 13 mtr pole with a method, cage or ledger rig. Very accurate way to fish. I usually use it on canals with light elastic, 4lb main line with 1.5lb hook length and a size 16 wide gape spade end hook ( Barbless ) and sometimes hair rigged. Scale it up when commercial fishing. Rarely use my float and feeder rods as the pole has me hooked. Tight lines to all.

    Excellent vid good roach, when you fish fine one runs the risk of a good fish coming off , great method. All our rivers in the west of Ireland huge floods in fact it's hard to distinguish which is river and which is just floodwater

    I've used this method of fishing for years, for a feeder I use a "fruit shoot" plastic top with a hole in the middle with a piece of lead for a weight ,and a swivel as a stop, plus I also use a cotton bud as a swing tip with a bb shot top to keep it in place, which is very sensitive for all bites. As the man says its a brilliant way to catch silverfish, I use
    elastic through the top section,

      Tony Napoli Hi glad you enjoyed this video. I think the problem was the hook pattern, I should have used a Kamasan B560 or a Kamasan B983! I’m experimenting with the B983 and results are very promising. Will report on them after a year or so of use. Tight Lines

    Is it still Winter there Bill? Looks like the grass is green and the trees are looking like they are budding out! You guys must be closer to spring than we are here in the United States! Of course I’m in the mid section of the states, or southeastern part, Ky. to be exact!

    • @easyfishing1936
      @easyfishing1936  7 лет назад +2

      Doug Hensley Hi yes it is still winter but our weather is fluctuating madly. One day it can be snowing the next day heavy rain, then followed by a mild day! Further north the weather is very different to my part of the country. This is not doing the fishing any good as we are not getting settled periods, that bee probably died in the freezing days later! The UK has a vary varied climate due to our position in the world, surrounded by the sea influenced by the Gulf stream etc. I don’t know about climate change but in my lifetime the weather patterns have changed! Flowers are coming out earlier and trees are keeping their leaves longer. But spring will soon be here I hope. Tight Lines

    • @hensleyshobbies-doug7761
      @hensleyshobbies-doug7761 7 лет назад +1

      Easy Fishing - It’s all about the Climate Change and the green house gases ( and all that), like you said how the weather is there, it’s about the same here too! Weather can’t make up its mind what it wants to do from one day to the next! I can’t hardly wait until spring finally gets here, mostly! I’m not looking forward to grass cutting season, again though! That takes up a lot of my time in the late spring thru late summer, early fall. I have 2 huge yards to mow and it generally takes me 3 days to mow them both and I have to mow them at least once a week. And I don’t get paid for it either! Oh well, I still have 4 days left in the week to figure out where I want to fish! lol

    • @andymetternich7453
      @andymetternich7453 7 лет назад

      Actually they used to grow wine in the UK during a warm weather epoch over there. There also was a mini ice age, that is why you see people in movies about the colonial era dressed in those heavy clothes. The only constant thing in the world is change...😎

    Hi i am new to whip fishing can you tell me how to tie the line to the end of the pole

  • @CB-xr1eg
    @CB-xr1eg 6 лет назад +1

    Hi Bill, interesting way of fishing!
    Would it work on the top 2 or 3 sections of a pole? ( elasticated ).
    And as you lost a few fish, I presume you were on barbless hooks, roach are good at doing that, especially on a whip or pole. Have you considered using whisker barbed or micro barbed hooks?

    • @easyfishing1936
      @easyfishing1936  6 лет назад

      Clive Bindley Hi well the pole is used sometimes with the method feeder on commercial fisheries but that is a self hooking method but my method requires striking or at least lifting into bites and is aimed at roach, dace etc.the flicktip acts like a quivertip to indicate bites. The reason I lost so many fish was because I failed to increase my hooksize. I was using a wide gape barbed 16 but I should have stepped up to a 14 or a 12 B560 or similar, the 16 was okay with breadpunch but the hook was masked with even small pieces of flake! My fault completely! But this is a very effective method and I’m testing a really strong pole that has a flicktip which with stepped up line and hooks can tackle just about anything! Give the method a go you will be suprised how effective it can be just don’t go for big fish with a light whip or it will end in tears. Tight Lines

    If you have to pull for a break with elastic in the pole, wrap it round the end of a bankstick or similar and pull to the side, saves your body from damage.

    • @easyfishing1936
      @easyfishing1936  7 лет назад

      poppypoopapie . Hi not a problem on this occasion as I’m using a flick tip. I wrap the elastic around my landing net if I get snagged on the elasticated Pole . I used to have a tackle ring to cut it free at longer lengths I must make another. Tight Lines
