Love the whip fishing vids it’s so easy for my grandsons to do no reel to mess about with so no tangles using the old type drennan flake punch with bread catching skimmer bream all they have to do is put a plummet on to test the depth and slide the float up or down . Just goes to show you don’t need to spend a fortune on gear . Well done and thank you

Buying a whip and ditching the heavy gear, he's having great fun! Beats sitting around for hours!

wizardwithguns1 Hi well I have always used a whip. I’m promoting it for beginners showing people what they can catch with simple cheap tackle. And yes, I’m really enjoying it and i am pleased to see a revival of the whip, though it is mostly the longer whip on the rivers where it has always been effective. Tight Lines

You got the deluxe setup there! I just park my toches on the ground, with my tackle box and bucket next to me. My only luxury is a beer or two...and sometimes I use the bucket as a seat! 😎😁

Andy Metternich in England on a commercial lake. This is considered minimal gear. I am mostly a river angler and stick to minimal hear with roving tactics but I have to admit when I go to commercial lakes I take the kitchen sink lol

It looks a lot of fun. I haven’t fished since I was a kid, but I must say the fish in U.K. are quite small for fresh water. I’m looking to start crappie fishing with a float in Texas.

Mickey Maus Hi well the fish I am after are small, but don’t be fooled. We have carp to 65lb ,pike to nearly 50lb, cats to well over 100lbs etc but I am not fishing for big fish, at the moment! Tight Lines

Hi Bill, love all of your videos. You have inspired me to take up whip fishing. I have been looking at which whip to buy. My question is what length of whip would you recommend for a beginner? I was thinking 5 meters? Also is it worth buying one with both a flick tip and an elasticated tip? Any advice would be welcomed.

Clive Carpenter I can answer that all though it may be too late. I have a Middy 5mtr with 2 elastic tops and one flick tip. Also have a 4mtr that i elasticated. Hope this helps
