    I'm so buying a whip tomorrow. Forgot how much fun I used to have on a 15 quid whip and now spent thousands on gear.

    Thanks guys. Went to my local Angling Direct. Got myself a whip and everything to get started. After 15 years or so out of the game, it's nice to be back and it's hard to overstate how helpful this single video has been for me.

    I dont know what it is about Matthew, but he's just so likeable. He has a child like enthusiasm for his sport and yet he is so knowledgeable at the same time. I imagine a day spent with him would be a real joy, and one would go home a good deal wiser for the experience !

    My favourite fishing technique using a 5m whip. My biggest carp I caught was 32 pound. Great video. Cheers from Canada.

    The main thing that comes across in this session, the enjoyment. So much fun with so little gear.
    What a brilliant video showing top match men still enjoying the thrill of one of the easiest methods.
    Good job guys.

    First time fishing with oldest son when he was 3. With a whip catching a whole lot of gudgeons and small roach. He had a blast.

    Lovely video. lots of questions covered (how much float showing, how many maggots and how often etc) and its nice that you actually show close ups of rig etc as a lot of videos never seem to show. thank you

    I have the 3m version of this whip and love it. I was catching loads of Golden Rudd on the rod, so I swapped to the whip for some fun. I caught a 1.4lb on it,. I love the action. I generally use the pole for most of my fishing, but some days travelling light for a couple of hours is so much fun.

    As an all round pleasure angler I purchased one for me and my son. Bags of fun bagging up on perch and Rudd. Not just for the beginner but also great just to have a bagging session for fun.

    Always set up a whip when I'm out, usually get quite a few fish just in front where some of the bait lands when chucking out

    Nice vid. Great to see the enjoyment being had while offering the tips. Something I probably don’t show enough of in my dry tutorials. Interesting to hear your thoughts on max breaking strain hook lengths on these whips and great to see whips being sold without pointless and poorly tied weak elastic. Removes a lot of the problems. Teaches beginners to get the right tension (the hard way, but it wouldn’t be such fun if we didn’t lose the odd one).

    quick question when fishing a whip.as new to it. When using the 4m rig ( 12ft.) and say only fishing 5ft deep. would you not have 7ft of line from tip to float and would you miss bites by having this much line ?

    • @lonepecheurboussac1249
      @lonepecheurboussac1249 2 года назад

      Yes it's a case of swinging out the rig until the line is semi taught holding the pole to the side of what ever direction the wind blowing from so keeps it straight this works best on still days I wouldn't attempt it on a windy day maybe keeping the bulk low nearer the hook to keep it pinned

    • @Fishwish
      @Fishwish 2 года назад +1

      One other thing - why don’t any tackle manufacturers make ready made waggler whip rigs. Works so much better on a whip - especially for beginners.

    • @derekskinner
      @derekskinner 10 месяцев назад

      @@lonepecheurboussac1249 Use a whip waggler if its windy--I use them 95% of the time on a whip windy or not.
