I'm so buying a whip tomorrow. Forgot how much fun I used to have on a 15 quid whip and now spent thousands on gear.
Thanks guys. Went to my local Angling Direct. Got myself a whip and everything to get started. After 15 years or so out of the game, it's nice to be back and it's hard to overstate how helpful this single video has been for me.
I dont know what it is about Matthew, but he's just so likeable. He has a child like enthusiasm for his sport and yet he is so knowledgeable at the same time. I imagine a day spent with him would be a real joy, and one would go home a good deal wiser for the experience !
My favourite fishing technique using a 5m whip. My biggest carp I caught was 32 pound. Great video. Cheers from Canada.
The main thing that comes across in this session, the enjoyment. So much fun with so little gear.
What a brilliant video showing top match men still enjoying the thrill of one of the easiest methods.
Good job guys.
First time fishing with oldest son when he was 3. With a whip catching a whole lot of gudgeons and small roach. He had a blast.
Lovely video. lots of questions covered (how much float showing, how many maggots and how often etc) and its nice that you actually show close ups of rig etc as a lot of videos never seem to show. thank you
I have the 3m version of this whip and love it. I was catching loads of Golden Rudd on the rod, so I swapped to the whip for some fun. I caught a 1.4lb on it,. I love the action. I generally use the pole for most of my fishing, but some days travelling light for a couple of hours is so much fun.
As an all round pleasure angler I purchased one for me and my son. Bags of fun bagging up on perch and Rudd. Not just for the beginner but also great just to have a bagging session for fun.
Fantastic lads we are late fishing this year and my oldest decided this year he wants use a whip and it's been many years since I've used one. lots of information and very easy to follow tips in this video.
What a absolutely brilliant video!! Great bit of banter between them but also full of useful tips. Taking my boy for his first fishing trip the weekend with his first whip.
Fishing as it should be fun and simple Well done guys
This guy is infectious
I tell you what lads... that was good fun to watch. Nearly 50 years of fishing for me..never ever used the whip or the pole, your vid between you two have got me thinking now though...
Nice banter, easy to understand very informative....that was quality all the way through..
Definitely getting my nephew one of theses and taking him fishing. Fantastic bit of kit. Nice one guys 👍
Great video, looks perfect for my daughter. Can you buy spare ready tied rigs for these? Thanks
Yes you can. Have fun!
i love whip fishing and to watch that video was just a joy. so informative
Great video lads. My lad has just shown an interest in fishing and I've not got a massive knowledge of the sport. I'm going to invest in one of these whips to get him started. I'm looking forward to seeing how we go.
Love this ! Thank you some really good tips. I love whip fishing to hand
Nice video guys. Love how you’ve made it nice and simple without patronising. Great fun! Last time out me and my sons had 26 little tench on a whip. Biggest was about a pound. Pulled very hard!
Always set up a whip when I'm out, usually get quite a few fish just in front where some of the bait lands when chucking out
Nice vid. Great to see the enjoyment being had while offering the tips. Something I probably don’t show enough of in my dry tutorials. Interesting to hear your thoughts on max breaking strain hook lengths on these whips and great to see whips being sold without pointless and poorly tied weak elastic. Removes a lot of the problems. Teaches beginners to get the right tension (the hard way, but it wouldn’t be such fun if we didn’t lose the odd one).
Cracking video lads, great net of fish on a whip, where was this filmed.?
Great little video. I have never used a whip or pole rod before, but it looks like fun. If I bought one of these new whips, can an elastic be fitted?
Great video guys.
Just picked a whip up for my 5yo
I think I'm more excited than him to get out with it 👍
Good job guys . Did whip type fishing with my lightest float rod last time out . Can’t remember having so much fun . Whip would have been so much easier .
I’ve owned several rods with excellent experience, so much as family members lay claim to them
Woul you recommend this for a beginner and are those hooks what they call barbless? Great video thanks
Brilliant video.
Great video, had a bit of a giggle at this. Great content and well worth the watch. Just hit the subscribe button
Just got one for grandson well that’s what I told wife😜
Funnily enough, there was a bloke at willinghurst fishery a fair few years back now that caught a 30lb carp in a match on a whip!!
Fantastic!!!
Really helpful thank you
Lovely video.
What net handle are you guys using here?
Proper enjoyed that
When a bream loves a roach 🤣🤣🤣
quick question when fishing a whip.as new to it. When using the 4m rig ( 12ft.) and say only fishing 5ft deep. would you not have 7ft of line from tip to float and would you miss bites by having this much line ?
Yes it's a case of swinging out the rig until the line is semi taught holding the pole to the side of what ever direction the wind blowing from so keeps it straight this works best on still days I wouldn't attempt it on a windy day maybe keeping the bulk low nearer the hook to keep it pinned
One other thing - why don’t any tackle manufacturers make ready made waggler whip rigs. Works so much better on a whip - especially for beginners.
@@lonepecheurboussac1249 Use a whip waggler if its windy--I use them 95% of the time on a whip windy or not.
Ce lungime are undita și de unde pot cumpăra una la fel .Iubesc pescuitu la undita
What is the difference between a whip and a pole? The lenght?
I’ve caught several double figure Carp on a 4 metre whip easily
I'm thinking of getting myself a whip as a change up and at this price no qualms about it
Whip fishing is the baws, dont fish anything else if i can get away with it, great vid
I just trumped ... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Vintage Geodfry.
Good vid but I don’t agree with small fish in net with a large perch
What landing net handles that.
What was the whip you were using
You didn’t show how to tie such a tidy loop in the main line before attaching the new hook length. That’s a skill I’ve never mastered. My loops are much bigger.
There is already a loop in it

The whip tip connector looks horrible ! The Stonfo blue/black ones are far more streamlined .
