If you are using Creator Companion and can't find the controllers for the SDK (took me a while), the path is actually: Packages > VRChat SDK Avatars > Samples > AV3 Demo Assets > Animation > Controllers
I've tried absolutely everything to fix this and I need some help. I downloaded the same dancing emotes as you but for some reason, they won't loop. I've triple-checked those I have those check marks correctly toggles but the animation always stops. What am I doing wrong?

The past few parts of the video have been very helpful! But I can't add my own emotes because the "VRCSDK" folder does not appear on my task bar despite being on the 2019.4.31f1 version. Everytime I import it and try to check the boxes, it just doesn't seem to work so no files are imported. How can I make the folder appear?
I found it, there is a file search bar and the vrc_AvatarVHandsLayer.controller file was in one of the folders inside the Packages folder, and make sure that when copying that controller, you have both hands options, CTRL+D probably won't work
i had the same issue, but i did find the gesture toggles in the avatar 3.0 manager folder > resources >AV3M >DefaultAnimators >Gestures. Hope this helps
I had this problem too and after some research, I found out how to do it from another video! The reason it's not appearing for us is that VRChat updated the SDK since this video was made. The folder has been moved to Packages > VRChat SDK (likely will be the 2nd to last folder in the Packages) > Samples > AV3 Demo Assets > Animation > Controllers. Hope this helps!
After adding facial expressions, I noticed it never completely returns to the Neutral expression and the mouth is stuck very slightly open. It also looks like the eyes and eyebrows retain some elements of the previous expression. Any thoughts on how to resolve? I do have Write Defaults enabled as the video instructs.
If I wanted to make it so an Avatar can Blush, which part would I follow to make that happen? I haven't started working on it yet but I need to know just for when I do

Hmmm strange. I followed the steps for adding a cellphone item that I could use the menus to spawn in my hand but it semi-works. The cellphone doesn't appear but all the menus appear correctly and the animation is selectable and it repeats and can be turned off/on correctly. I wonder why the phone doesn't appear. Maybe something to do with the asset I downloaded. These tutorials were really great ! I was able to make a character that functions so that is dope.

Neither of my hand options popped up in the facial expressions after clicking on FX, what did I miss? Edit: I found out that it says Character orientation may be erroneous for humanoid motion if there is an avatarmask on the default layer. Consider not using a mask for the default layer. No idea what that means when I try to insert the Vrc hands into the utility layer since it doesn’t give it to me automatically *Edit 2: figured it out, it wasn’t the third one for me for some reason, it AvatarV3HandsLayer2.controller* Edit 3: **It did not do anything once I entered Vrc after setting up the binds.** again, I don’t know what else I could do Edit 4: hopped back onto Vrc today, emotes now work for some reason, but the blueprint step is confusing for me since it doesn’t show up as both quest and pc avatar, how do I fix that?
I know it's a long shot, but im trying to add a mask prop for my friend and I can't seem to get the mask on his face properly without it moving around a bunch and looking like its about to fall off.
I just finished working on similar (expect in my case it was a shield that my character wears over his chest) so I might be able to help. Did you place it under the right category in the hierarchy? Is this a mask his character wears all the time or does he need to spawn it?

I know I probably messed something up along the way, but I added the emote drive properly, place the menu and parameters into the correct slots but for some reason it says "There is no 'Animator' attached to the "Body" game object, but a script is trying to access it." so I was wondering if I did something wrong or how to fix it.
when importing the avatar, click the avatar within assets folder and set animation to humanoid, and the whole jaw thing, thats what was wrong for me that brought up that error
@@0minousity It's all good, I figured out what was wrong. I was working on it over the course of several days and forgot to duplicate my model before adding some animations.
sorry if this is late, but i had the same problem and fixed it by adding expressions to both hands (if you want it only on one hand, you can change all the ones on the other hand to your neutral expression)
Having a problem sometimes where my facial expression will get stuck even after realizing all gestures and going back to idle. Everything is set up correctly according to the video. Sometimes my face gets stuck and sometimes not. Having to reset the avi to go back to neutral expression
i had the same problem. make sure in the FX controler file you made to check mark Write Defaults. thats what makes the face change. you have to have it selected for every facial exprestion

So is there a way to program an element of randomized variance in the programmed movements? As in a variety of how precise it is, so it doesn't end up exactly the same each activation of the command? I'm learning all of this avatar making stuff in my upper 30s, but I come from a 2d and puppetry background. Thanks for this video!
Pretty sure that's not possible. The animations are based on key frames for each bone of the avatar, so it will always play that exact animation as defined by the key frames.

Make sure you created a parameter in your FX controller and use the same exact name to add it to your parameters menu (the one you made when creating the main menu)
Okay I added psybones to the booba of my avatar but it's now clipping through the dress when I press play is there a way to fix this I tried fixing it but nothing I do seems to work.
That would be a lot harder to do. T-shirt to dress might be possible cuz you could use a dress in vroid, rhen just erase parts to look like a shirt. Then deselect "delete transparent meshes". Then in unity treat it like a normal material change
bruh... every time i upload my avatar to blender or unity i have no materials for nothing of my clothing just, I cant even select my t-shirt nor jewelry's. i cant even click my fucking eye in blender but everyone else that upload there avatar from void and upload it to blender it works. I did everything in the book to step by step and this shit is not even working. iv litteraly spend 3 days all day trying to figuring out this stuff with no brakes and im on day 4 still getting the same problems, this makes no sense plus. sometimes i would upload the avatar to unity then my materials would show then disappear into mid air. someone help is someone getting these problems ?

When you made the avatar in VRoid, did you make up the facial expressions like he did in the first video of this series? If not, you might need to go back and redo it, and watch the other videos leading up to uploading it to Unity.

How do you go to "examples 3" through the Creator companion? I cant find the sdk

Just to add that booleans does work on parameters which is more intuitive for toggles.

Sounds like you didn't make it loop. Make sure it's set to a toggle, and has exit time is unchecked on both the in and out animations

What worked for me was I clicked on the transition out and selected "not equals" instead of "equals".

I am having an issue making the animations for the expressions. When i try record the blandshapes, the expressions dont show up on the avatar. Does anyone have this issue? if so can anyone help me?
When you made the avatar in VRoid, did you make up the facial expressions like he did in the first video of this series? If not, you might need to go back and redo it, and watch the other videos leading up to uploading it to Unity.

Did you export the fbx file with copy on and the box next to it checked?
