I made this recipe with walnuts and 3/4 of a small banana instead of sliced apple and - WOW!!!! Also, I prefer my French Toast a bit crispier, so I cooked it uncovered at 375 on convection for 40 mins I won't be able to eat French Toast any other way now.
Yeah, I don't like soggy, I prefer it on the "crispier" side, which has prevented me from making this, actually. I have seen this recipe for years, but i don't like soggy bread. However, it is New Year's Day 2021, so I figured I may as well start it out with a bang, since, I am pretty sure this year won't be any better than last year. I am not a pessimistic person, I always see the positive in any given situation, however, by the looks of things, 2021 is going to be worse, than 2020. Anyway, thank you, for sharing how long you bake yours, so it is "crispier."
To whoever is reading this Jesus loves you and he’s coming soon. All you need to do to be saved is believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins was buried and came back to life on the 3d day. Confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and you’ll be saved! I hope to see you in the clouds! God bless!!ll
What recipe did you follow? The recipe in the description is off and I also noticed that she said she used 1c. milk but in the video it’s definitely more than 1c. I want to make it but I need a solid recipe lol.
You are brilliant. My husband doesn’t like chunks of apple baked, but I don’t think he’ll notice if they’re shaved. I am making this on Sunday, delayed Mother’s Day brunch!
I just made your 44th like which is actually my lucky number, and on top of that my dad makes a nice breakfast every Sunday for us since forever, and just so happens we are having French Toast Casserole too! He has only made this a few times over the course of a few decades. Just proof there is a "centralized consciousness" for lack of a better term, that we all tap into. Ha and I just noticed this video is 4:44 length, this is craziness! If I only knew what it meant! LOL
Had some old bread in the freezer that needed to be used up (too dry to eat) so its soaking in fridge right now and going in oven for a breakfast for Dinner! Making it exactly as your recipe, just with old buns & bagels chunks!
I'm so glad this recipe was shared on my timeline. I have been looking for a baked French toast casserole for years that pleased me. I stumbled upon baked French toast in a Corner Store bakery in Chicago and I was hooked. Unfortunately, I live in Detroit so driving 4 hours to each this dish was not an option every Sunday. I love that you added apples to this dish. That's a wow factor for me! I'm definitely going to make this casserole for one of my Sunday brunches!!
I was trying to follow your recipe but was confused with the measurements in recipe in the description box & what I saw you actually put in the recipe. Recipe said 2 cups of cut bread…but you said 4 cups during video? 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon? But you didn’t use the Tablespoon size you used for maple syrup. Don’t remember if the nutmeg or vanilla was confusing too?
Yes, brioche or challah bread are great. If you live in San Francisco Bay Area (United States, Semifreddi’s cinnamon twist challah bread is perfection).
I made this for Christmas and it was sooo good! I doubled the recipe and baked it in a 9x13, but I used half the amount of nutmeg, cinnamon, butter and brown sugar and it came out perfect! Not too sweet. I also baked it at 350 for about 40 minutes covered with foil half of the cooking time.
Thanx for the idea of adding 🍎. Super fast recipe and delicious. I added some nuts for topping but put them in the last 3’ when was almost cooked. 😋👍🏻🧡
Hi! This recipe has great flavor, minus the apples for me. However, your ingredient list above says two cups of bread, while in the video you say 4 cups. I am guessing really mean 4 cups? Thanks!
@@IslandVibeCooking Yeah I thought so. Your ingredients list says 2 cups though. You might want to update it. Just a thought, in case someone only reads it and does not watch the video. Thanks!!!
Egypt here, we fey the French bewad cubes, in oil or been tter ghee, and add it and o lentil soup, magnificent winter warming meal...try it , and herbs are added... Makes us a creative meal video , with lentil soup
I am so glad I came across this page. Subscribed! My French toast casserole came out wonderful! The only thing I did differently was used cinnamon raisin bread & instead of whole milk I used macadamia milk. It’s so delicious 🤤

You baked the banana or just topped it after baking?
I added banana and chocolate chips yummy!

Thank you much🥰 I didn't have any soak time, and it still turned out wonderfully. Also I had turbines cane sugar- the top was crunchy and yummy😊

Did you soak it overnight?
Looks delicious, I'll be making this for Christmas morning.

Honey, that's called Bread Pudding with apples.
I’m trying this using left over Krispy Kreme doughnuts instead of bread. Will update in the morning 🤞
Bad idea. Too soggy. Abort!
@@emmettab1 bet it works well with stale cinnabons
I've done this recipe with left over cinnamon rolls and it was very good

Mine is going in the oven now. Soaked it for 2 hours but I'm sure it's still gonna taste amazing. Thanks for the recipe 😊
How did it turn out? Did you use 1 cup of milk?
It's like a bread and butter pudding without the rum..
OMG this looks friggen amazing..... going to make this weekend! Thanks for the great recipe! xo

I just bought brioche bread today and my exact thought with my loaf!

I love your videos! What can I use to replace the Island seasoning? Every time I tried to order it says out of stock..😔

This is a must, but if maple 🍁 is part of the equation then go all the way out by adding bacon 🥓 pieces ❤ I got to get this done❗️
Who disliked this 😑

I think I did something wrong mine was soggy. Do you bake it covered with foil?

If I put the apples in with the bread and the mixture for 6 hours in the fridge, are the apples going to get brown or do you think they’ll be fine?

Try using pumpkin pie spice!
