I wasn’t alive back then, so I can’t speak from experience, but it seems to me that the 1950s was a much simpler time. Good thing classic tv reruns exist for nostalgia. Thanks for sharing Lamont. Stay safe.

Thanks for this Lamont! You had me cracking up going back and forth with your boxer buddy 🤣! I think he wanted to be the star of this video! Howdy Doody was a great kids show back in the day! Was just thinking that Ralph, the female carpenter on the 60s sitcom Green Acres would always say howdy doody when greeting someone. She was a riot, always getting on Oliver's nerves!

Just up the road from where you are is St. John in the Wilderness church. There is a part of the cemetery where Enslaved Persons are buried. They were unmarked until someone found the location of each grave and placed a cross at them. You can see them from the road. There is also the grave of a man who was killed by bushwhackers during the Civil War. Hope your enjoying the area!

Bob did some autograph shows. He was scheduled for a Hofstra University visit on Long Island. The weather was awful, snow, ice. The show canceled but I went the next day driving white knuckled. He and Howdy were there. He was such a nice man, I asked if I could take his photo and Howdy ask me to come sit beside him and got someone else to take it. I actually had a conversation with a puppet. Lol And Buffalo Bob as well, hardly any people were there due to the weather so there was no hurry to move on.It was a great day, and great memories. Thank you Lamont

I recall around 1970, Buffalo Bob was making the college show rounds with a retrospective of sorts. The trend back then was for many Baby Boomer entertainers to have revivals and meet and greet their audiences and bring back a little nostalgia in the process. That is pretty much the last time I recall him on the public radar. I remember the Howdy Doody Show from the early 1950's but I never connected with it. Captain Video and the cartoon shows were more my cup of tea.

In 1975 I was attending a Jaycee convention in West Palm Beach, Fl. At the awards banquet, they told us we were having a special guest speaker. Then all of a sudden, the voice we all remembered shouted out, "Hey kids, what time is it?" and we all shouted out it's Howdy Doody Time! This was a group of men and women in their 20s and 30s. It was "Buffalo" Bob and it was most fun we all had at a banquet.

    Lamont
I saw you did a story on the funeral home that cut off a man’s legs to fit him in his casket. The video was one of your best ones yet. If your ever in the state of Georgia I ask that you visit the grave of Kendrick Johnson, the teenager that was found dead at his High School rolled up in a gym Mat, under suspicious circumstances. Not only was Kendrick family victimized by their son’s murder, but the funeral home that prepared Kendrick for his service, victimized the family again by removing his origins and replacing them with newspaper. To my knowledge no one has been held accountable in his death and the funeral home has not been held accountable for his missing organs that they removed. Although there has been some coverage in the media as well as another youtube celebrity bringing some attention to this funeral home, they are still in business today and doing quite well.

I highly recommend the Crime Weekly podcast here on RUclips. They did a deep dive on Kendrick that was really good. The channel Kari the Mortician went over what happened to Kendrick from a mortician's standpoint. I cannot imagine the pain his parents and other loved ones went through. May their hearts be comforted and may Kendrick rest in peace.
