I've been watching this multiple times, but it's only now that I am getting that he is playing the solo from the "When the butter flies due to the hurricanes"
What does he say? And is there any sequel? So amazing the way how he played La Campanella My favourite band's singer (who is my favourite pianist/guitarist as well) is playing one of my favourite classical pieces. I can't find the words! Matt's playing is awesome :)
Whilst Liszt is one of the most talented pianists and composers of all time, a strange part of me actually prefers this piece in F minor... To me it sounds more wondrous and dreamlike, but that's just me. :')
@soffapute I know what a concerto is. You said Bellamy plays the piano version which is incorrect. He clearly doesn't play the leaps between the higher note and the melody, as well as the fact that it is in the wrong key.
@soffapute I'm afraid I am having trouble comprehending your comment. You said it was based on a violin piece, but I'm sure a majority of people would agree it's based on a piano piece, since it's played on a piano. Bellamy clearly plays chords accompanying the melody, which is near impossible to play on the violin, since you have one bow and to play a melody as well as backing harmonies is near impossible.
@soffapute Please read correctly. I said STARTING ON E flat, not in the key of. Therefore you can not be more wrong. As for your strange suggestion that it was based on a violin concerto: Would this make any sense? Would Matt really play a violin piece on the piano rather than a piano piece on the piano? I thought a Muse fan and a person who has knowledge of Romantic Period music would be more intelligent.
Why is he playing this in F minor? The original key of the melody, G sharp minor, captures the emotions of the melody much better. A disgrace to classical music.
I wish there were more videos of him playing classical music and improvising.....
this dude is one of the last real musicians left in the recording industry. the other one is matthew bellamy.
Nah, you just have to look harder
Sean O'Gary nah, your taste sucks
I don't agree
duh lmao that IS matthew bellamy 🙄🙄🙄
@@applestrudelgirl pretty sure its obvious sarcasm lmao
AGREE! Matt is an amazing musician. Don’t know much about the group Muse other than the Cds I own. But their music is incredible for just three dudes.

hes such a legend!
He must have been classically trained. As a Lisztian myself this is good.
If I remember correctly, he is self taught. His dream originally was to play in classical music.
@@StoneyWoney yup he is self taught
Actually, this is a simplified version of La Campanella.
That's from Butterflies and Hurricanes in the start of the video.
It's the end of the piano solo
I can't find a version that sound as beautiful as this one ):

y the thumbs down? wat i say is true. the actual la campenella is starting on an Eflat
no. the actual version is much more complicated. Bellamy played his own rendition. it is also in the wrong key
Yeah, It's Liszt's La Campanella, a difficult and beautiful piece ;)
There isn't any next part?
I'm sure the end bit is starting from 1:08 ish?

Julia Cha shut up
Julia Cha you are a disgrace to classical music, for even thinking that in the first place.
I mean he’s just dicking around on a piano whilst practicing, what sin is he committing
lmao all keys sound the same
@@nothingbutathief7175 actually it's more difficult to transpose it
