    Apologies for the delay, life gets in the way sometimes! Please let me know if the video is too dark. This also a Patreon requested video, so head over there if you are interested in supporting my effrorts! www.patreon.com/user?u=60384096.
    Note: In reality, Kuttelwascher's Hurricane carried long-range fuel tanks but these are not modelled in this simulator.

    As a pilot I may sat it takes something well beyond courage and skill to fly a Hurricane at night,with just a bare compass,all city lights out,by dead reckoning,no ground control for interception,and circling visual to shoot down an enemy in obscurity.I think no modern fighter pilot could duplicate anything alike.It's just a phenomenal achievement.Bombers have at least a navigator and a copilot to ease the navigation and the instrument flying.Doing all that on your own and surviving is awesome.My deepest respects to the brave Czech and all his mates.Best regards from Spain.

    Great video, not too dark IMO. Those Hurricanes still don't seem to get the recognition they earned and deserved, ...kind of like the American P-47.

    Perhaps they are not modeled in this game, but Kuttelwascher's aircraft would have been equipped with two non-droppable 44 gallon auxiliary tanks under the wings of his aircraft to allow him to make such a long flight.

      Maybe by the big fire on the ground, and/or photo reconnaissance of the area the next day. It was sometimes difficult to confirm the precise type of aircraft shot down though.

      @@rockfella1377 Why do you think so? First I´m from Czech Republic and I fell nothing but deep respect for Karel Kuttelwascher as well as other our airmen . But first his Hurricane MK IIC was neither equiped with guncammera nore he recordered any of his night claims for victories of course. In fact his tripple victory described in this video cannot be verified in german records. So it seems that results of his gunnfire were not fatal in this case. And german planes were not damaged beyond repair...

      Nothing extraordinary. A lot of Czechs have German surname or originally German surname. I am Czech and I also have a German surname and I'm not the only one. Czech and German (Austrian) cultures are connected. We share the same history. Nowadays, only the language is different as Czechs started speaking Czech language again 200 years ago. In the past, it was German and Czech, later almost only German and nowadays it's only Czech. So don't classify Czechs as Slavs. Czechs aren't Slavs by culture, only by language.

      Family name was KUTLVASR from the village of Svaty Kriz …. Later Germanised

    • @janhalaxa1888
      @janhalaxa1888 21 день назад +1

      He was born in a village 4km away from a town then named Deutschbrod and his mother's maiden name was German and her first name spelling is German too. This used to be common. The newly created Czechoslovakia was more advanced and democratic and many people identified with the values upon which the country had been founded and the constitution. The preceding Austro-Hungarian empire used to be viewed as backwards and oppressive. I can't speak for Kut but it seems to me that the patriotism of these heroes lied in that they believed in freedom and defended universal humanistic beliefs and principles regardless of their cultural or language background. In many villages we have monuments of victims and heroes of the WWI and WWII and the family names carved in stone are of all groups of inhabitants.
