Salisbury steak is a great comfort food. It’s basically the same thing as meatloaf or Swedish meatballs, just with a different sauce. Seasoned ground beef with breadcrumbs and cooked in a skillet or baked. All of them are great.
@@vandagylon2885 they’re all ground beef, fat, seasoned breadcrumbs, and onion, sautéed in a pan with a gravy. Seasonings and portions are different but quite similar as well
Love the small detail of pointing out the fish spatula. I love that tool as well. Great video. Calm, consistent, and detailed enough to inspire but not overwhelm.
This came out really good. Although I did not grate the onions and added too much panko, the recipe came out great anyway. I didn't have any ground chuck so I used regular hamburger meat. I did add A1 to the broth mix and some dijon, ketchup and mustard to the meat mix, this came out fantastic. So good.
Excellent recipe. I'll continue to use this recipe in the future. I chose your recipe over several others because of your amazing meatloaf recipe. Thanks so very much.
I was skeptical but made this recipe for dinner. Unfortunately, I didn’t have mushrooms but had all other ingredients. THIS WAS DELICIOUS!!!! The onions were full of flavor. Thank you!!!
I made this tonight. It was a great recipe. Easy to follow. We all thought it was delicious, and I will definitely make it again. Thank you for sharing!
I had Salsbury steak at Piccadilly the other day; brought back so many memories going there in my childhood. I've been craving it every since. Can't wait to make this! Looks so good and easy! Thanks for the video!
Thank you, first. I’ve tried making my mom’s meatloaf a few times, never came close to getting it right. Never attempted her “Salisbury Plain” steak with mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. Your recipe and unbelievably good instructions turned out great! Only thing I did different was using two pounds of 80/20 ground beef and making 6 patties, which by the time I was done turned into 6 mini meatloaf’s. No complaints from the family. Thanks again.
I made this recipe this week. It was a big hit. Great flavors for an inexpensive pound of ground chuck (freshly ground from Certified Angus Beef, of course).
I came to see what was put into a salisbury steak. I knew there was something special about them than just a plain ground patty. Now I know. Thanks for the good presentation!
Thank you for this amazing dish. 100% family yummy. Note to anyone: If you make a double batch, make one extra portion gravy, use deep tray and oven bake 350'F for 40 mins. Thank you John A 60107
Thanks for the recipe and excellent explanation on how to make a Salisbury steak. I've made it for dinner and my family love it! I don't have Worcestershire sauce here so i made the soy sauce version.
I have been living in the united States for more than fifty years and never made Salisbury steak, but I do make all more everything else, I'm going to try one of those days to make your Salisbury steak. Will see how it comes out. Thanks for the lesson.
Looks good! In Germany our version is called Bulette or Frikadelle. Almost same recipe. Instead of panko we use an older bread roll soaked in milk and add some kapern in the meat if you like. We eat this mostly with fried potatoes or just pure with a bit mustard. The sauce looks tasty too!
I made this for my parents. Last week. They bought more ingredients to make the same exact dinner. LoL thanks man this is an instant hit. You should try cornflake chicken thighs. So good
I made it today and I liked it. It could have used more cornstarch my sauce was runny. I even let it rest. I think it tasted good. I did not have Worcestershire. My husband was thrilled . Oh well I’ll eat the rest for dinner tomorrow 😊
Really Looks Good !😂, I must try this, I like you used all fresh ingredients. Thankyou for your recipe 😂, I also have that 'fish ' spatula , and i use it for fried eggs too 🥚, 😂😂😂❤❤❤
im. cookin this today.looks great i got wagu beef.and yes i got baby bella shrooms..i have egg noodles to anf mashed potatoes .ladt batch i used the garlic cream pasta shells and it was money.think im goin with reg egg noodles today!
can't wait to try this, but what about a Roux? In my experience, a slurry goes soft with leftovers, a roux holds on. I live alone, leftovers aren't usually a problem, but for those that can't eat it all...
BUTTER... USE BUTTER with the Mushrooms and Onions... Butter is BETTER... more Flavor.... LOL Thank you for sharing this GREAT video... I have been cooking Salisbury Steak for over 50 years... and Never used MILK in it... Hum... that is a thought ... a "Panade" ... I'll have to try that.
I was gonna say the same thing. I personally put some butter In and a little wine and start deglazing the pan before I add the onions and mushrooms. So savory!
I've eaten these all my life. I have a Polish family and we call these SCHNITZLA. Only we don't do a sauce or broth like you americans do. Would like to try your version though.
I borrow a trick from the Keto Meatos and use crushed pork rinds in place of the breadcrumbs while using 7%-10% fat beef. With those changes, I will try this recipe.
Great recipe but some good tips is to use a fork to mix the ingredients into the meat instead of your hands and set patties in the fridge 2+ hours before cooking them. Other than that it came out fantastic.
All Salisbury steak recipes have to have 2 TBSP of prepared horseradish in them, or they don't have that signature flavor. Anything else is just plain old hamburger steak.
Yum! I deglaze my pan with a little wine before I put in the onions and mushrooms. Adds a whole new savory experience to the dish. Mmmmm
MMMM YUMMY YUMMY IN MY TUMMY NOM NOM NOM NUMMY NOM NOM YUM YUM NARL GURGLE BLORB GORF
Im gonna try it with beer

In the sense that they are all ground beef?

oooooo i love the large boston market salisbury steak with mac n cheese!
One of the better videos on this dish, not too many ingredients and under 5 minutes.
I made this last night! Absolutely perfect. Exactly what I remember. Cant wait to make it again. Will not change anything.
Love the small detail of pointing out the fish spatula. I love that tool as well. Great video. Calm, consistent, and detailed enough to inspire but not overwhelm.
I don't know if my ground beef is Chuck, Bill, or Andy, but it's 80% lean.
Fear not on the GB, just use 80% or better. I used 85% and came out outstanding.
I literally just choked on my coffee reading this. 😩😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You’ll be okay it’ll work I did the same
Beautiful! I am making this with your help, tonight for dinner. Thank you so much.

What a great idea with the mustard! I'll have to try that 😋
Get funky.
Excellent recipe. I'll continue to use this recipe in the future. I chose your recipe over several others because of your amazing meatloaf recipe. Thanks so very much.

Just can't wait to make this at home, it looks so tasty! 😋
I'm learning how to cook tasty dishes, so I'm not eating fast food.
Excellence. Did this well i would not try it any other way. 😉 the real ingredients and your cooking logic is spot on 🇦🇺👍😊
Thank you. Excellent recipe. Will try.
They look great. I made your meatloaf recipe everybody loved it. I'll be making these also.
This is one of my comfort food. Cook it in a pan with a lid. An instant pot or Ninja Speedy. A fool proof recipe anyone can make and not screw up.
Thank you for making my life easy you're amazing
This was an amazing recipe! The only thing I did differently was use 1 cup of beef broth and a half cup of red wine.
Really Looks Good !😂, I must try this, I like you used all fresh ingredients. Thankyou for your recipe 😂, I also have that 'fish ' spatula , and i use it for fried eggs too 🥚, 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Nice. I'll try this one.
No GD, no bad language, classy elegant! Subscribed!

I have made this dish this way for years in restaurants I deglaz pan with red wine but great job❤
Thank you, making this tonight with mashed potatoes and corn for a side.
This looks good.
Nice! Gonna try this!! I must say though....that Salisbury steak needs a bed of mashed potatoes!! 🥔😂
Looks perfect.
I made this recipe and it was delicious!!😊
can't wait to try this, but what about a Roux? In my experience, a slurry goes soft with leftovers, a roux holds on. I live alone, leftovers aren't usually a problem, but for those that can't eat it all...
Interesting!
Yup, a roux is the way to go.
Man can't wait to make this tonight ❤
I now know what supper tomorrow is... 😋
Look delicious
This is by far the best Salisbury steak I’ve ever had!!!! If you haven’t tried it, please do!!!
Grating the onion is very Italian old world technique. Authentic Italian meatballs are made using grated onion.
I LOVE SALSBURY STEAK!
1 of my Favorites 🥩
Just before you add the cornstarch mix you can deglaze with some Sherry or sake.
For american, not bad, few touches here: Olive oil instead of granola. Real garlic instead of powdered. White wine in the mushroom broth.
BUTTER... USE BUTTER with the Mushrooms and Onions...
Butter is BETTER... more Flavor.... LOL
Thank you for sharing this GREAT video...
I have been cooking Salisbury Steak for over 50 years... and Never used MILK in it...
Hum... that is a thought ... a "Panade" ... I'll have to try that.

will love to try this?.
Serious question, doesn't inserting the probe to check the temperature before the meat has rested, won't all the juice leave the meat?
I prefer a roux to corn starch but the idea is solid.
Salisbury steak was the most popular food in the US in 1952 typically served with mashed potatoes ,gravy and peas
so basically a sophisticated burger patty. got it.
The grated onions really are the way to go.
I've eaten these all my life. I have a Polish family and we call these SCHNITZLA. Only we don't do a sauce or broth like you americans do. Would like to try your version though.

Going to make this not sure if I will make white rice or mashed potatoes 😮
yup, never tried with panko but I'm going to.
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Yummy 😋
Delicious.
Great recipe but some good tips is to use a fork to mix the ingredients into the meat instead of your hands and set patties in the fridge 2+ hours before cooking them. Other than that it came out fantastic.
Looks good. Just missing the whipped potatoes to go with.
Looks amazingly, but it would completed with a side of fluffy mash potatoes.. mmmm 😋
All Salisbury steak recipes have to have 2 TBSP of prepared horseradish in them, or they don't have that signature flavor. Anything else is just plain old hamburger steak.
My large Cuisinart stainless skillet looks great hanging above my wood cookstove.
I take it down and dust it once in a while.
