    Loved this:) I have a video on Vitex as well. It really helped me to regulate my period and I agree, it worked pretty quickly for me too. So happy we have found support through natural remedies!

    Have you talk to a natural doctor? You can get a saliva hormone test done that will pinpoint exactly what's going on minus the guessing. I'm going through this now. My test just came back and I was low on a few things. Thanks for sharing your story! It's encouraging to me that healing is on the way 🙌🏽

    I suspect a progesterone deficiency. I've been battling estrogen dominance for well over a year now. My luteal phase is far too short. Thanks for the info. Also, you're so pretty!

  • @WeilleK
    @WeilleK 7 лет назад +12

    I had the same short luteal phase issue with spotting and I used raspberry leaf tea three times a day and that helped. We were TTC so short luteal phase is no bueno. I worked with a naturopath as well to help get me fixed up. But the tea is a component that definitely had an impact.

    Thank you for filming the update! I do not take any of this information as medical advice but I am curious how exactly you took the Vitex. I've watched all of your videos on this topic 3x and still can't get a feel for how long you were on it, as well as the dosages you took. I know you stopped taking it during your menstrual cycles and at one point were only taking a half dose.
    Again, I'm fully aware that what worked for you might not work for me, I just want to know what exactly worked for you since I'm having similar symptoms. Any information you can respond with is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hey, I started taking vitex to see if my PMS symptoms would lessen.. and my hormones have always been abit off.. I started taking it and I started feeling like I was constantly PMSing.. I was really emotional (period like emotional) depressed and tired and had cramps?? I don’t know whether to persevere and push through to see if it’s the first phase of regulation or it’s just giving me progesterone excess causing me to feel strange?? Help xxxxxxxx

    I just found out I have low progesterone. I had a lab taken on cd 22. I am going to be seeing my doctor on Monday but thinking about ordering Vitex. What day of your cycle do you start it on? Can it be started in luteal phase?

    I have low progesterone and vitex made it way worse to the point I was spotting 3 days after ovulation until I got my period. Every month off I have spotted for less and less days so my body just did not react well to it

    • @tinypanther
      @tinypanther 3 года назад

      @@ninisantrax I didn’t have long period days. I was just taking the vitex and just recently I have had some weird changes. However, I’m 47 now and that is to be expected, I still think I’m estrogen dominant and I just ordered a kit to test my hormones. Everlywell has different tests you can order and do at home, you can also share the info with your doctor.

    What do you think about drinking just the brewed vitex seeds for after coming off the pill? Haven't examined my hormones yet, because it will be out of wack anyway right now, but I'm just curious if that's a good idea.

    • @iamalexandra.
      @iamalexandra. 7 лет назад +1

      war paint Definitely not a good idea. You shouldn't take Vitex during the first three cycles off hormonal birth control. I recommend the 'Period Repair Manual' and the author's blog posts. Here's one about Vitex: www.larabriden.com/vitex-for-period-problems/

    • @czolg2014
      @czolg2014 7 лет назад

      Thanks for recommending this blog, I've just been afraid of the hair loss and acne problems after coming off, so I wanted to be prepared, I'm drinking some herbal mix consisting of Cistus Incanus, yarrow, epilobium and take an Iron supplement which has also Donq quai in it, don't know if there can be something wrong with taking it all right now, because as I've said I've read a lot about it being helpful...
      Also my case might be kind of different, I'm not willing to have kids, like ever, I got a Tubal ligation almost a month ago, so I'm not that bothered with my ovulation being on point, I just want my body to get to normal... Also I have Hashimoto's so my hormones and my cycle might be even more erratic and irregular than of a normal person after ditching the pill.

    • @iamalexandra.
      @iamalexandra. 7 лет назад

      war paint Have you tried reaching out to a naturopath? Ovulation is important for a lot of things, like bone health, decreased risk of cancer and heart disease later in life, and so much more - ovulation is not just important for fertility. A lot of people with thyroid issues chart their cycle; they usually have clearer charts when they temp vaginally.

    • @czolg2014
      @czolg2014 7 лет назад

      Thanks! I've just started charting, I want to get to know my body and I know it is important, I just don't know what would be better for me honestly... My GP used to say that the pill is actually a good thing for me, cause people with Hashimoto's and other thyroid issues tend to have irregular or no periods at all, but it was just not a good thing for me. I'd rather have irregular periods than be depressed and anxious all the time and actually have no libido, which kind of doesn't make sense considering the fact what the pill is for. And unfortunately naturopathy is not a thing in my country, I'm from Poland, so in here we treat everything with 'regular' medicine.

    • @iamalexandra.
      @iamalexandra. 7 лет назад

      war paint The pill would never be good for people with irregular periods because what you get while you're on it are withdrawal bleeds, not periods; so, instead of having a period once in a while, on the pill you weren't having any periods at all. There are naturopaths in Poland, a quick Google search will show you where the nearest one to you is :)

    Hi there! When should you be taking vitex? Maybe you mentioned this in your videos but I could've missed it. Should vitex be taken on roughly days 1-12? Or during ovulation? Or during your luteal phase? So maybe days 16-28? Thanks for your help! :)

    I’ve read that women with PCOS should not take vitex because it can raise LH which is usually high anyway in *some* women with PCOS.

    • @e.holiday2510
      @e.holiday2510 2 года назад

      Women with pcos have overactive ovaries, therefore taking vitex if you have pcos can make your ovaries that much more overactive causing worse imbalances in your cycle. Vitex is not for everyone.

    • @traveltoeat03
      @traveltoeat03 Год назад

      I heard it balances hormones giving your body what it needs so it won’t raise it if it’s high it will lower it if it’s high because it balances hormones, I’m not a doctor though that’s only what I heard

    This cycle I started spotting on 2 DPO, and my period came in late 10 DPO. I marked CD1 on 11 DPO, since it came in right before midnigth. I really think I should do something about this. 😩 I hate spotting!! Before birth control pills, I never had any spotting. Just got my period all of a sudden.. I prefered that! Brownish spotting is the worst! 😞 I hope vitex can help me too!

    Hey Victoria! What do you think about the whole trump administration letting companies opt out of requiring to give no cost birth control to their employees?
    Can you make a video about telling young women not to be scared but look at it as a bright side to learn about ones body and practicing fertility awareness ?
