I am a nurse educator. Parts of this are great, but parts of this are inaccurate. During menstruation, there is a spike of LH (called the LH surge) but there is not a surge of FSH. FSH starts off high at the beginning of the cycle, but decreases leading up to ovulation. The purpose of FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) is to get the follicles to mature. As time goes on leading up to ovulation, the follicles are maturing, and when ovulation comes, they are ready to go and FSH is no longer needed.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention! I will be sure to pass this along to my colleagues on the Content Team so they can check the details with our Chief Medical Officer. 😊
FSH can perform more than its primary function, it seems counter-intuitive to me as well but "The Normal Menstrual Cycle and the Control of Ovulation" (Reed & Carr 2018) states "Progesterone is also responsible for stimulating the midcycle rise in FSH. Elevated FSH levels at this time are thought to free the oocyte from follicular attachments, stimulate plasminogen activator, and increase granulosa cell LH receptors" plus if you look up any graph of LH & FSH hormones you will see a slight spike (not as profound as LH obviously)
I just got off of birth control and I'm never getting on it again because I am permanently sterile because I got my fallopian tubes removed. I'm really happy that I'm never going to be on birth control again. I hope my hormones return to normal soon.
Would you have any knowledge on Norethisterone please? I need to check if it can affect Androgens receptors and affect testosterone levels to be active!? Thank you 🙏 I would appreciate it Perhaps you have a video on it ?
it appears what’s missing during and after menopause is progesterone? smaller amounts and a diff type of estrogen are produced .. but no production of progesterone was shown. ? why do i not hear progesterone replacement ? .
If you take estrogen you definitely should also take progesterone, at least sequentially. Estrogen causes the endometrium to build up and if it goes on there is a high risk of uterine cancer. Progesterone is needed to shed the endometrium in a menstruation.
i m male,and i have a problem.i have LOW estrogen and HIGH proegesteron.i m on testosterone replacment therapy.can someone help?what can it be...i feel awful
If estrogen is what they took off the market because it gives woman breast cancer but its what stops menopause, I can buy new boobs just give me the stuff that makes me feel 13 again.
Oh, Nooo I haven't listened to these in a long while. Where is the guys voice I love so much?
I think the guy would of killed himself explaining this

Fxck. This just scared me. I’ve just stopped after 3 years because my left ovary is killing me. Do you mind to go more in-depth with what happened?
I know more about the effects of hormones on my body :3
I wish there was a little bit more attention on what progesterone's effects are though.

I have little and thin growth in underarm
How can I get bushy and hairy growth in underarm
He? can you repeat?
I'm currently taking progesterone during to changes I'm going through.
Do males also produce esteogen?
smaller amounts but yeah. same is reversed for women and testosterone.
Isn't progesterone produced by the adrenal cortex as well?
That's Erythropoietin
Very well done !!
