@@jamesburley-jukes228 smooth landings
I prefer the 767 over all
@@grefties3488 2-3-2, I see what you are talking about
This video made me smile hearing my flag carrier Uganda Airlines for the first time here 😀
I bet Delta is talking a look at the 800 as a potential 767 replacement
They really should
@Gen Av the A330-800 is way too heavy to replace the 763ER and has too much range.
Delta already has projected the 763 routes to be covered by A339 and A359 in the future. The 764s will stay for longer and be replaced by A359s
Delta is interested in upgauging their fleet for long haul, the A338 is too small for their plans.
@@videosfromelsewhere926 idk, cuz from what I've heard the a359 is more of a 777 replacement for Delta and Ed Bastian has said the he was intending for the Boeing nma to be the replacement for the 757 and the 767s, but with that program up in the air, they're probably looking at the 321xlr and the a338 as replacements. Time will tell, it'll be interesting.
Maybe the -800 doesn't have that much order because some Airlines just have a young fleet of the -200 maybe 2 years - 4 years old on airlines fleet before the neo arrive at the aviation scene so let just wait and let the time tell us the future of the beautiful -800
I agree. The A330-200/300 were selling like hot cakes before the NEO came out. The 300 is also the original A330 making the 200 much younger.
Airbus is just upgrading the A330ceos with newer generation stuff.
@@michaelgoetze2103 How much of a factor do you think 787 delays and scarce delivery slots were in A330 sales? It seems like a lot of A330s were leased as a temporary measure.
@@jrs89 Could well have been a factor. Airbus had a cash cow with the A330ceo. Development costs had been paid for and every plane was making pure profits. It was easy to give good discounts and still make money and, as you said, could be delivered. I'm sure Airbus got much satisfaction trying to dent the 787 program.
Aer lingus could order the a 330-800, their four a330-200s are aging with one of tthem ei-lax surpassing 20 years. The a330neo could replace the -200s or even help them expand, especially with their upcoming hub in Manchester.
I'd say they would order the 900
And then have a gap to the a321 XLR and LR
They'd get the 787 instead.
Good replacement for Delta's 767-300ER
The Boeing 787-8 that is cheaper, more fuel efficient, robust, offers moisturizing air rather than the A330-841, offers more engine options, wider cabin, larger windows and a more diverse passenger option and more space to offer better seats. 787-8, "Am I a joke to you?"
@@momsspaghetti6507 the 787-8 is only hated by young Airbus fans who don't have a reason to hate it. 😉 becausebit won the battle against the a330
@@lubsisaco i like both the 330 and the 787
@@lubsisaco Delta already cancelled its 787 order it inherited from Northwest and they’re future fleet, both narrow body and wide body is centred around Airbus, so unlikely they’ll pick the 787 again.
That's correct, the a330-800 almost matches the passenger capacity of the b767-300ERs. Delta could have a great deal with Airbus.😀
The A330-800neo could work for Brussels Airlines.

It feels soothing to hear.
These new aircraft look very good. Than you for sharing..
The A330 is quite underrated for an aircraft, I really love that butter machine a lot
swiss001 fan?
its not underrated. it's because the a350 exists that the a330neo is seen by many as not needed.
It’s the apples to apples replacement for Delta’s Boeing 767-300ER fleet.
Do you think they'll wait for the 797 or opt to use the larger A330-900neo that route? I feel like they would have ordered the A330-800neo by now if they were interested. If you look at the orders within the past decade, they seem to prefer the economics of "stretched" models (e.g., A321-200ceo/neo, 737-900ER, A330-300). When they need less capacity, they opt for a smaller and lighter overall model rather than shrink of an existing model in the fleet.
@@jrs89 I think Delta doesn’t have time to wait for the NMA/797. Even if it was announced today it would still take Boeing 6-7 years to get it ready for service, which would not coincide with the 767’s retirement plans. Also if the could get a good price on the A330-800s I’m sure they would go forward with it. Fleet commonality is now the name of the game.
@@MrJDR10 interesting. Do you think they might opt to upgauge with the -900 and abandon some of the smaller point-to-point routes served by 767 with partner flying through hubs (e.g., AMS, CDG)?
Apparently DL doesn't agree. They have 0 800's on order while they did go with the 900 and 350. It's too heavy and aircraft for the capacity for DL's needs.
@@jrs89 That's been their pattern. But who knows post Covid. It all depends on premium demand return on long haul routes.
Great video. ☺️
AWESOME AND NICE VIDEO
Perhaps airlines operating out of shorter runways might use the A330-800
A330 the butter machine!
why is it called that?
@@vhperches it butters the runway
That means it lands real smooth without hassle
😉😉
Stay safe btw
@@vhperches it's because the A330 features a uncommon amount of gear tilt when compared to other aircraft, which gives the impression of a smoother landing for plane spotters, even though it probably makes little difference.
Nice sharing friend 😁
Beautiful Aircraft

What is the background music towards the end?
There will definitely be more orders for A330neo family in the future, a lot of them will be replacements for right now not so old A330-200s and -300s. Probably mostly from Asia.
A330 is the most fantastic aircraft in the world.
Never been on one, so how is it the best in the World? I thought that it was a very old design
A350-1000 left the chat XD
I agree a motorised glider but amazing plane with so much potential
Pegged it with the shorter runway requirement over the 900. Also is support structures & maintenance facilities also accommodate the 800 without expansion or the need for new facility acquisitions. Training g is not also a far stretch from the 200.
I honestly feel it’s best Airbus focuses on the -900 and discontinues the -800 as soon as the few orders have been delivered. It’s got as little interest as 777-8X (excluding potential freighter which likely has more interest)
The -200 isnt that old, and the -800 is a direct replacement for it, so many airlines are holding off replacing their -200s until they are old.
Yes I do....... as older variants of the A330 get closer to the end of their lives, which won't be long, more of the A330-neo's will be required so I expect the 800 variant will get a lot more orders.
Eager to try out the premium economy class experience on this beautiful bird with our own carrier Uganda airlines.
The A330-800 is one of the aircraft I hope to fly on in the future!
I have flown on it last month from Kuwait to Munich on Kuwait Airways. Truly a remarkable aircraft.💙
Nice Video..!:) The aircraft would be a suitable replacement for Air Transat's A330-200 and 200i fleet as they are in the midst of a fleet renewing program, having opted for the A321NLR as the backbone of the fleet.. Currently they operate a dozen of the A330's (down from 20 before the pandemic) with an average age of 18 years.. The A330Neo ('800) would be a nice fit with a cabin configuration of C12/Y330 and would probably reduce the companies operation costs even more.. keep an eye out, it may be in the works for the future..?
YES
Since what happened to Garuda Indonesia recently, i really don't think that this order will be completed fully for 4 jets, while they have to return half of their 737s to lessor, it's sad to hear it but that's what happen right npw
Yes
Aerolíneas Argentinas should order the A330-800neo to replace their aging A330-200s. Delta should use the A330-800neo to replace the 767s too.
Anyway, if anyone says that Delta would order 787-8s for a 767 replacement, that would be highly unlikely because Delta cancelled the 787 order from Northwest when they cancelled.
@@sethtan715 who knows, everything in this world can happen. By the way, even if these two are good replacements, there are not that close to the 767-300er in many ways, and that is why is difficult. And more, they could just upgrade some of their cabins for the more now ones.
Pretty similar to what happened with the proposed Boeing 787-3. It was smaller than the 787-8, and it's planned specs only worked best on very specific markets, such as the high-capacity short haul domestic routes in Japan. Even then, Japan Airlines and ANA both bought the 787-8 for this purpose. It would have been nice to see a 787-3 though, in my opinion.
Only partly true, the 787-3 had the exact same fuselage as the 787-8! Only the wings and some other minor modifications made the difference to the -8
Thankfully Kuwait airways have it my country
I would say the 330-800neo is an aircraft for that airline who need not much and have circumstances.
My favourite airplane
Air Greenland has the best livery.
After air New Zealand of course
Kuwait blue better than terrible red
I think the very small number of A330-800neo's built was why Hawaiian Airlines decided to drop the A330-800neo (after it was changed from the shelved A350XWB-800 earlier) in favor of the far more available 787-9.
they could till have the 800neo to replace their older 200
It seems like the A330-800 is the best and most comercial option.
belive, if you would star an airline, or you select the 350-900 who have the same range and more passenger or the 787-9 with give you efficiency and also very good range. The airlines who select the 800 are those with a lot of circuntances.
Hawaiian Airlines at one point ordered the A330-800. They canceled their order and switched to the Boeing 787-9 due to aircraft's popularity.
The A330-800 is like the 777-8, it was designed to replace the A332 like the -8 was designed to replace the B772. There is absolutely no reason why either of them are so unpopular
No, the 777-8 is the size of the 777-300 (both carry about 375 pax), people confuse the 777X a lot for just being a simple re-engine of the model but Boeing stretched this plane, the 777-9 (carries about 400 pax) is a stretch of the 777-300
I can see about the same ratio of A330-200 vs A330-300 beeing sold as for the A330-800 to the A330-900. Moral of the story, ULH is expensive and more difficult to bargain for.
the 800 that garuda order will fly to amsterdam from medan and jakarta and possibly surabaya and bali
Simple: the market has been taken by Boeing 787
and the 350-900 also
I think Airbus has to do considerable discounts for the 800 variant to look appealing. Or if passenger numbers don’t improve drastically post Covid19 the airlines will not see a reason for the extra capacity and will opt for the flexibility offered by the extra range.
Those who needed a small plus long range airlines have already bought the B787-8, also 330neo is kinda expensive for its technology, specially compares to a350s
well yes, for buying an a330-800neo, airlines would rather or an a350-900 or a 787-9, if the best ways, and they would also be replaced by future aircraft also.
Too bad Hawaiian Air cancel the A-330NEO for B787s
I didn’t even know that this aircraft existed
2:41 garuda Indonesia ❤️❤️❤️
seen both Kuwait A338 in 2 days at LHR before they vanished
Delta really needs this to retire the 767-300's/ER's.
But I don't know that the A330-800 is not rare. I thought that it was a great replacement for B757,767,A330-200. And the range too.
yeah
@@sethtan715 yes
Best a330
If Airbus offers a version with decreased MTOW they could maybe sell a few more. A lighter version with a smaller wing on the other hand could be very sucessful.
@@G-546 basically yes -- just ~3 rows longer. I think the A310 wing would be not too bad for such an aircraft. AFAIK this wing was VERY advanced back then -- but of course an all new modern very high aspect ratio CFK wing would be even better.
probably more will be ordered to replace the a330 200 in shorter high demand domestic routes
It looks like a plane that came out of a game
I think the A330 800 will be a succes aircraft for the A330NEO variant in the future. Maybe Delta will be the next one to order the A330 800. Please pray for Garuda Indonesia.
Delta seriously should order the A330-800. It would be a fantastic replacement for their aging 767-300ERs
I think 787-9 is a better option compared to A330-800Neo
Problem is transition costs. Most airlines keep to the same manufacture because they don’t want to spend on retraining and other infrastructure related expansion to accommodate change .
I hope large a330 operators like Lufthansa will replace their old a330s with the newer a330800 or a330900, it just looks amazing!
@@momsspaghetti6507 they ordered the b787 to have capacitys because the capacitys of the 747400 and a380 aren't there anymore
@@tobikortmann1861 they actually order b777x over b787

Hi
Will airlines favour the 350 over the 330 neos. I guess price will be a factor.
That would be an interesting video - why you'd get an A330 neo instead of the A350 series.
I knew it one South East Asian airline is in the list.
Airbus offer a range of aircraft. Where the A330 isn’t suitable other Aircraft made by Airbus may fit. In today’s market with Airlines coping with covid smaller aircraft could be more appropriate.
Price for A330-800 is USS260m, compared to USD280m for A350-800. If an airline is planning for long haul service, which will yield better value?
The A350-800 isn’t buyable
The A350-800 was scrapped even
United airlines and Hawaiian airlines for a300-800neo
If the A321neo has become such a big sales success in the post-pandemic scenario, for its long-tange + lower pax capacity, why isn’t the A330-800 selling like hot-cakes ? Isn’t the ULR attractive for airlines ?
Music in the background where can i get this track any one help
Airbus was very smart to build the A330neo. There is about to be a huge influx of retired a330ceos and these will need to be replaced. In this instance, although not a big hit yet, airbus has invested wisely.
Delta is going to buy em to replace the old 767s
the A330-800 would be a good choice for Hawaiian Airlines. As their A330-243's don't last forever.
They opted for t 787-9, previously they had orders for the -800
I'm not sure garuda indonesia will continuing their order
Why is air greenland painted red? A lighter short range version in think maybe popular.
So that the aircraft can be found in snow, it’s probably just a tradition that is being kept
Can someone explain why some people call it a butter aircraft?
It has a very tilted landing gear which allows it to perform very soft landings with the first wheel pairs of the landing gear. I’m sure you find some videos by looking for A330 butter or something like that
Edit: there’s a landing video of a US Airways A330 that’s definitely worth watching
@@spongebubatz ah that makes sense. Thanks!
