Best Video yet …. Luv the complete explanation.
Awesome, thank you!
Very much helpful thank you
👍
You are a true blessing!!... learnt tons from you an Brian from Paint Society...im currently about to open my very own bodyshop
Fantastic! That's awesome! Congrats
Thank you for these videos! You do a good job of teaching and explaining!
You're very welcome!
Very interesting and informative video Chris, you always include so much info on what you are doing and the reasons behind it which is a huge help for us home painters that are still learning.
With the sealer that I use I always give it a quick da with a P800 disc just to make sure there are no nibs as my sealer sands really nice and ends up feeling very smooth which I think is very important to give a better finish for your base and clear, thanks for doing these videos for us👏👍John UK
I'm opening up a body shop soon. What gun do you recommend for an all around use. Base paint, primer, clear coat? Also what tip # do you recommend for each application. You should do a video like that. What tools someone would need to be successful and maybe make a series.
Good idea, I've had several suggestions for that. Honestly right now I would say the Porphis Prd 627 with the VS tip that's the split tip. Bonus it's only $200 bucks.
@GarageNoise sounds good. Going to look into that brand also. What do you recommend for customer management software and estimates software? Would love to figure out everything I would need to get started to run a successful body shop
Nice videos i do a little body and am a mechanic🎉🎉
Cool 👍
Nice tutorial... Could you tell me the type of face mask your wearing for protection. Thank you

Great information Nice work
Great video thanks for sharing 👍
Muy buena información...gracias
👊
Chris are "flex agent" still used when painting front bumpers . Or just a sealer is now used to replace "flex agent". And/ Or can both be used .
Most paints have a flex additive in them already. I've never really been concerned with using an extra flex additive. Now adhision Promoter is also considered a flex additive.
We always use a flex agent on bumpers. Cheap insurance.
Great video...thanks again
You bet
Hi Chris, Another excellent video. I really like the full face mask that you are using. How do you like it? When I click on the link it comes up to a selection of 8 masks. Which one is the one you are using? Do you think readers can be used for us old DIY'ers. Got to be able to see what your going to paint 👓😁 Thanks
It didn't last long enough for me. It's back to 3m
My question is, if 2 coats of clear are applied and you wet sand and buff, how much clear is left? I would apply 3 coats for better UV protection, and you might sand 1 coat off when finishing the job. But that's the way we do things in Adrian. :)
You'd have to do a lot to sand one coat off. Nothing wrong with applying an extra coat tho. You got some pros in Adrian tho.
Great video. Just learning to paint. It's true, clear coat is tricky. Will temperature affect some orange peel? I've been painting on clear, but had some orange peel this last time. I believe it was close to 80 outside. I'm painting outside under a portable enclosed canopy. What do you suggest. Maybe earlier in the morning? Thanks. Very educational material, really helps out.
Yes temp will definitely effect clear. Use slow activator for sure. Spay at a cooler time of day will help.
👌👌👌
How often do you change the water trap on your gun side of the air hose ?
Once a month maybe, but I change the desiccant bead on my inline before each paint job
Hey man I am painting a bedside and fender on my 2012 Silverado that was my grandpas. I'm just about all ready for paint on the face of the panels and already have the wheel wells and inside of the panels painted and they turned out great. I cleared them with the Finish 1 fc720 and 1 stumbled across a video that said it had bad uv resistance and I researched and some more people feel the same way. What would be the best clear for this? I understand some clears are 600 dollars but don't want to spend that much as I am already very deep money wise into this project. I'm willing to go probably 300 dollars.
Any thoughts and suggestions from anyone are appreciated!
Thanks
I wouldn't over think it. Eveyone got an opinion , I have people that had painted their truck with the 720 and after six years it still looks great! Fc720 is designed to last 10 years.
@@GarageNoise ok thanks!!
Chris when you done ✔️ that bumper pal you never said anything about plastic primer on the bumper mate and are them phorpis 717 1.3 are chris any good mate chris is the phorpis 717 1.3 a base coat paint gun and 715 a clear coat paint gun 🔫 😊😊
The Porphis guns are great. I don't have the 717 yet it's actually on it's way. The 715 is awesome. These guns are great for base and clear there's not one gun just for base or clear. I'm not quite understanding your question on plastic and primer?
@@GarageNoise it's a plastic primer promoter
@@ANDY-we7mr ok, adhision Promoter only needs to be used over bare plastic. So in the previous video we used it over the bare plastic before appling primer.
@@GarageNoise nice one Chris iam going to paint my ford focus mk3 front bumper its got bass coat paint and clear coat paint on so 600 grit scuff pad and panel wipe base coat blender base coat paint and clear coat paint
Never mind on the voice over . I think it’s my phone.
