I actually have to fill a hole in a plastic bumper on an MKX in after watching its video I. Honestly feel that I can do it myself just from watching this video. Excellent work!

      @@GarageNoise do you ever put reducer chris in the clear coat chris you cut and buff the bumper with 1500 or 2000

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 года назад +1

      @@ANDY-we7mr I never reduce clear coat. It thins the solids in the clear and makes the clear less durable in the sun. I have no good reason to reduce clear. I pretty much always start out with 2000 wet sanding. I would only use 1500 if the clear had heavy orange peel.

    Great video, I’m curious can you let the base dry and color sand it then add the pearl and clear?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  9 месяцев назад +1

      Shouldn't need to but if you havesome dirt nibs to sand out hot them with some 600 but you need to apply another coat of base before applying the pearl.

    Thanks for the great video. I need to fill my license plate holes. Can this be done from the from ? And if so since it’s a GM vehicle and it’s an 08 model from Canada would the ppfiller be ok?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 года назад

      You could repair it from the front. It would be better to do it from the backside. Fill the hole with the appropriate plastic. Then som flexible filler.

    So let’s say if a bumper is good, has no damage or chips I’m gonna sand it down with 600 then add base coat then clear coat? Love your videos!!

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, if rhe bumpers in good shape you just need to sand for adhesion of base. Appreciate your comment

    • @GarageNoise

    Would you recommend cleaning a aftermarket bumper with wax and grease remover some people say not to do it because it can cause a reaction

    • @GarageNoise

      Yes any plastic can be cleaned with wax and Grease remover weather the bumper is made of a Thermoset or Thermoplastic both call for wax and Grease remover

    how much would fixing a small hole like this cost at a shop normally? minus all of those other scratches? I was wondering how to fill a hole but wow that's a lot of work and probably best left to professionals lol

    Have watched lot of your videos pretty cool content! I have a question tho kind of curious so on paint guns the way I was taught (on the fluid nob) is to hold the trigger all the way in and turn the nob till it hits the trigger and that like wide open on the fluid idk if that's the right way or not just how I learned, so my question is when people say 2 turns in does that even make a difference being that the fluid is wide open? Why can you still keep turning the nob being that it would supposedly be wide open after nob hitting trigger? So I would assume if you keep turning the amount of fluid won't change? Idk if my question makes sense?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 года назад +1

      So yes the way you were taught is how to open the volume wide open. The reason you can still turn it is to take the gun apart. If you continueopening it up the knob will come off and you can remove spring and needle.
