Once I heard these methods are Beagle approved, I was sold.
The Beag has an excellent palette.
Me to if it'd beagle approved its good
Not sure what it is about this guy but I just love him!! Excellent old school cooking with a blend of humor it's perfect!!
Kent is the real deal.
I wish he was my grandpa!!!
I just found him last night and I am already hooked!!! Hands down the best find in YoutTube

Love how the pup gets the first bite!
I’ll be cooking a steak on the beach this weekend in Galveston!!
Love this channel!!! Just found it 2 weeks ago!!
It's a great channel for a cowboy twist on cooking!
Kent, I groaned when you moved that porterhouse skillet to the cutting board ... and again when you sliced her open just a bit. Seriously. That looks so good I think ol' Frank was waggin' his tail from up in heaven wishing he could come for a visit!
When I was younger I was at a sleepover and steaks were for dinner and I said that I wanted mine well done. My friends grandpa told me to try his med/rare and I was reluctant but that steak melted in my mouth and I haven't had a well done steak since lol. No turning back
Thank you Kent and Shan for all the good tips
LOL, "Sirloin Tips" (Hmm; that would be a great name for a cooking show).
“He already died once we ain’t gonna kill em again” 🐐
YES!!! This is what RUclips needs! Finally a good ol' classic RUclipsr! Officially my favorite!
Only time I want to hear "well done" is when the Lord calls me home.
Amen!
And Amen!
*AMEN*
Amen!!
AMEN!🙏🙌🇺🇸
I need help picking my jaw off the floor after seeing that deep-fried New York steak.
Kent, you remind me sooo much of my Grandfather. God rest his soul
That happy dance was everything! Loved it!
I just realized, Shan may have one of the best laughs ever!
You two are great!
Keep up the good work!
This is what got me into Cowboy Kent. God bless!! Thank you very much!
Very welcome
Whenever I need a recipe, I always come to this channel!!😁 Keep up the good work!!:)
It's 22:30 here in Greece. Not long before we hit the hay. Don't know if I should go to bed dreaming of that steak. Hell
yeah!
Flat bottom shovel
Besides the fantastic methods and recipes, what I love most about this channel is the good, clean, patriotic message.
God bless Kent and miss Shan.
I live in Texas, but originally from Tulsa. Keep on rolling Kent
I did Broken Arrow - Tulsa- Houston-West Palm Beach, Florida and now I'm in the Philippines raising two beautiful girls. I did go back to Oklahoma a few times before I went to Asia though.
I needed this, this morning. As the video started I felt like I'd stepped into an long time family friends backyard for some good food and fellowship. Thanks Kent (and Shannon of course and also the Beages and Dukers) for you fun videos. I certainly hope you don't get tired of making them cuz I don't think any of us are going to get tired of watching them.
Woo Hoo Happy Dance, Happy Dance. Love and Prayers to you and Shannon. And yes, God Bless our precious Military.

Discovering this channel has made my life way better
The reactions I have gotten from caveman style steak are hilarious! Best steaks ever!
I love the types of recipes where you don’t need any cooking utensils, just meat and fire. Delicious.
Thanks to both of YOU! and the PUPS!
OK...I'm making steak tomorrow. That's all there is to it. Thanks!
My wife and I tried your caveman steak method on a camping trip a couple years ago and we were positively blown away with the flavor and tenderness. I’ve never eaten a better piece of beef in my life. Thanks Cowboy Kent.
You are the best Kent! Thanks for making me smile!🤠🇺🇸
A good crust on the outside and rarer than an honest politician is the way I like it
Kent is THE MAN when it comes to good cookin'. Thank you for your expert advice!
Thanks for watching
It’s always a good night coming home from work to a Cowboy Kent video!
I have said it before and I will say it again… your wife and you ( Kent) are a National Treasure!
Brings back good memories. When i was young i cooked game like this no matter if i was working, hunting, or camping out. even better i used a natural salt lick for seasoning
Nothing like starting hardwood coals with a flame thrower! 🔥this is no joke, that thing is a beast. Coals ready to cook in minutes, not hours
Agree. Nothing like cooking over coals. Traditional Hong Kong toast is a 1" slice of bread done on a charcoal brazier. Served with condensed milk (yes!) and a slab of butter on top. Newer version (1970s+) with peanut butter. Glorious with a cup of sweetened steeped tea on the side.
It doesn't get any better than this right here!
God bless you and your family Mr. Kent
Cave man style is the best way. I've only done it once and the flavor is something you don't forget.
I cooked steaks on the grill a couple of nights ago. I have a almost 14 year old Dachshund that won’t eat much of anything except people food, that will eat at least 8 oz of steak! She also likes smoked chicken or Turkey & hamburgers & roast beef!! I know she probably shouldn’t eat it, the vet wanted her to go on a kidney diet. We tried, went 4 days the poor baby ate nothing, no food, no treats, nothing!!!! I told the Vet I was cooking her a big steak for supper, he told me usually a dog will eat what you give them after the 3rd day, if not before. I told him I had steaks in the frig for supper, he told me not to put too many spices on hers!!! Great video!!! Thanks!!
God Bless The Cook! And God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏
We didn't cook for the fourth but these videos should make my family cook outdoors for the next holiday.
You know the problem with steak jokes?
*It's a rare medium well done.*
My wife bought a Blackstone grill and I love it for cooking steak and the large cook top is great for the cast iron pans.
How’d you know I was thinking about steak?! Another great video Kent and family. Thanks for the recipes!
You the man, Kent! God bless y'all keep making the videos. ☺
I just tried this for the first time and it was the best steak I have ever had I followed what you did in the video and they were out of this world!
Than you so much for all you do to show how to cook the traditional ways.
The deep fried is next!
Cast iron and steak, a match made in heaven, with cowboy Kent Rollins being the matchmaker!
So apt I literally just cooked a (UK) Sirloin or (US) New York Strip steak what ever you want to call it, about 1.5 inch thick, the way you shown in an old video from years ago. On the grill for about 3 minutes a side and a 5 minute rest. I cook all my steaks this way now. They all get a sprinkle of your mesquite seasoning with lime juice and its the best. They turn out perfect every time. Thank you Kent and Shannon from an long time viewer God bless
Hope you hit 2 million soon
Whenever Kent Rollins cooks steak, the results are [CENSORED] DOPE!
Found this guy at random and don't hate it. Great content, great personality, patriotic and all around great gut. Keep up the good work sir!
Kent, God Bless you and thanks!
Square point or flat shovel, as long as it has ash holes. :)) Thanks Kent, Shan, Andy and the pups.
I got me a big fat Ribeye sittin in the fridge right now waitin for dinner and it was made with steak techniques i learned from this man years ago. I would be only half the cook I am today without Kent & Shan :)
Happy Birthday Dale Robertson! Star of “Tales of Wells Fargo,” WWII hero, and Oklahoma son! 🤠
watching him right now.......
@@rottiesrule5285 Me too! 🙂
“I’m Jim Hardie, Special Agent for Wells Fargo.” …me too, everyday!
Awesome video as always respect from Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks guys! It looks amazing.
the reverse sear is also a great method for cooking steak.
I always reverse sear when I cook steaks Sous Vide ( vacuum bag) I go 130 F for 1.5 hours and sear in cast iron. Perfect every time.
Thanks for the tips!
My Family loves your Channel 😎🤗🤠
The video I have been waiting for!! Thanks for all you do!
Love these videos.Thank you.
Oh yeah! Thank u Kent !
The man's a national treasure!
Thanks Kent and Shannon for the recap. Great ways to do steak. God Bless!
Thanks for sharing!
Not much beats a delicious juicy steak! Thanks for the tips Kent, God bless you and your family.
Hats off to Kent. A true patriot and cowboy. Knows how to cook a good steak and shares his wisdom with the world. Bless this man and his family!
The apartment complex where I live banned all outdoor grills, due to a new State law. I never saw anything in the notice about digging a hole in the ground....
Oh, as as far as the shovels, I worked in a hardware store for 12 years. Our shovels were either long or short handle, round or square point.
Get yourself a sous vide cooker and a torch. cook them sous vide for 2-4 hrs. @ 129 F then finish them by searing with the torch. That's the secret to the perfect steak. Before you hit them with the torch make sure to pat the outer surface dry with paper towel. Moisture on the surface will make it more difficult to get a good sear.
Love this one. Thank you! Love all your old videos! What made me a cast iron man! Why I still buy your seasoning and now very knowledgeable with cast iron! Still watch the old videos to catch up and learn more. Thank you!
Thank you. Love your tips and tricks
Ya'll are doing great and wonderful things here! I love this video, with all the extras like the back to the future reference (which has found its way into my humor recently also), and then all the ways you are representing of how to cook a steak properly. Good work, and God bless you.
Thank You, my mouth is watering.
Thank you Shan and Jent for the great content and recipes
Love your videos. Reminds me of our camping back in the early 50's with my grandparents. I got some of her hand-me down cast-
Iron. I even have a big 25"
That was my grandma's also. I think of her every time I use them...thankyou for bringing back this type of cooking.
Kent, I’m Drooling on my iPad. You truly are foods best friend. Bill from Georgia
I think one of my favorite things about Mr Rollins videos is he doesnt use many crazy one off things. Everyone has something buried in their pantry or fridge that they bought once to try some recipe or other and has never touched it since. Need plenty of recipes we dont need to hit a specialty store and spend 10 dollars on something to make.
God bless you Kent.
hey Kent thanks for the great entertainment throughout the years. i appreciate all you do. man your biscuits!!
Love the back to the future bit.
Another GREAT video kent
The Florida pool pump motor bearing repair guy approved ! that was good info Kent
Well, dadgummit, you got me again. You mentioned the skillet handle covers and I been wanting one. Y’all think a lot of them things! Anyhow, got a cookbook too. Guess it’s just money. Heck, they put it in my bank account ever 2 weeks whether I show up to work or not so it’s all good. God bless and keep up the good work.
That turn around with light rays got me
Thanks Kent
THANKS YOU FOR THIS TODAY! NEEDED IT!
Oh my word, does that look wonderful!!! All of it!!!
Cowboy kent rollins never fails to make me smile
Love what you do with meat!! Thank's for great videos!!!
Why am I just seeing this today? I bought a bone in NY Strip steak and was fully prepared to ruin it. Going to try the direct hardwood charcoal pit for this one. Been using cast iron for about 30 years now. I was inspired by my family and a place in Cody Wyoming that cooked everything over an open flame in cast iron cookware. My grandmother and my mother each used well seasoned cast iron cookware. The finish allowed you to practically use it as a mirror. But the caveman method has me in a state of shock. I dont want to try this method, I need to. Thank you so much for the video. I am a loyal subscriber now. Can't wait for the next video.
This was a great video, love each one of these techniques. Getting tail wag of approval says it all!
i so look forward to seeing your videos. and shannon does such a wonderful job on the camera. god bless you both.
We called that shovel a SQUARE BLADE growing up in California in the 70's.
Love your videos!
I think I got the idea, but I like my cows just a little more tan. My london broils got 3-4 minutes a side to start over the weekend. (boring gas grill) Then another 3-4 minutes flipped each again, with some Worch , worch, worch, worchestershire on the top. Came out still pink inside to make my wife's favorite, but still dark enough for me.
The big thing is that I let it stand covered in the normal air, with an olive and additional season rub, while the corn started cooking. May be wrong, but I like to perforate the steak with loving knife strikes to get it to absorb some of the olive oil.
Thanks Ken.
Thank you for being you .
Cowboy Kent you are a gentleman and a scholar
Hi Kent. Thanks for making my mouth water once again! Stay safe. ATB. Nigel.
