Hell yeah, good job and good luck buddy 👍
Wish you good luck and success in your business!
I think it’s pretty cool I always wanted to buy one of these old uhauls and do something with it
Good luck. With your kind of work ethic and support, you should succeed in no time. If I ever need you in Ohio, I will call.
I had a breakdown several years ago in Georgetown ky. The vendor showed up in one fancy well organized rig. Air compressor was PTO driven just a well thought out design. He was dressed fairly well for a mechanic. That has lingered with me since. He had 250k tied up in that service rig. Hope all is well my truck heads to body shop next week and after that I will be trying to contact you for a clutch job. I haven't forgot ya.
I'm going to look at a couple this week. 2006's plan to use for local truck we I'll see.
Before buying, check the box, didn't look close enough on 26', and saw a small crack in the wrap. Other than that it look smooth and flat. Also didn't knock on it. A hollow sound will tell you the FRP has delaminated in that spot. After getting the 8 layers of wrap off, a 4x8 foot section was repaired the wrong way. 1/4" skinnier FRP and they used bondo so it sucked water in from the crack and rotted all around the sheet and then popped off the outside 2x6 foot section of fiberglass next to it. Took forever to fix it. Always use marine grade epoxy and fiberglass and other products only. If you cut or drill holes, allow the epoxy to soak into the plywood and use two coats before installing whatever.
Should of shipped that transmission to Precision Transmission down in Amarillo Texas :)
Mount one of those small hydraulic crane arms on the inside corner of the box to hoist heavy crap onboard
How about an air ride for the rear. All the weight in the rear may make the truck steer funny I like the set -up maybe a 0 degrees leaf's springs in the rear A tracking device for the truck and insure the hell out of it to cover the replacement costs if it gets stolen...never can tell good luck I am jealous, looks like a lota fun I am Rutten for you guys KEEP GOING. Dave
I want to buy a 17 foot u-haul truck the sales men said that for me to get a good running one I would spend about 12,000 or should I buy a Penske truck or a Isuzu box truck?
Thanks for making this video and sharing your experience. Do you still have this vehicle? I'm in the market and I don't know if I should buy one. I swore off buying an ex rental car years ago, but this would be for a camper build.
You are welcome! We sold a truck a while back!
Ryan, this is off the subject for this video but who do u recommend for insurance for Landstar. I remember u mentioning where to get it through in previous videos but I’m drawing a blank.

I couldn’t say another other trucks. However, I put a new engine and new transmission in for mine. So everything is new pretty much.
I am selling mine, if you are in the market, might be a good deal for you.
